Roman Villa - On Monday, years 3&4 went to the Roman Villa as part of their topic. They carried out a number of Roman activities, such as: making Roman food (Masterchef style) ; playing Roman games; trying on Roman clothes; weaving and even making our own Roman ‘coil pots’. Defibrillator – We now have a defibrillator in school, for use by the whole community. This will be eventually put on the outside of the building, but in the meantime will be available during school hours. Please spread the word! Results We are so proud of our children and their results this year, which continue to be well above the age related expectation. Yet another year of brilliant unvalidated results for KS2 show that:  100% of year 6 reached level 4 (expected for the year group) in writing and maths.  64% of year 6 reached level 5 (expected for year 8) in reading and maths and 43% reached level 5 in writing.  Once again we had a child achieve level 6 in maths (expected for year 9!) Truly amazing! These results, and the wide range of experiences they have had throughout their time at Wroxall, will enable them to enter secondary school with confidence in their ability and a willingness to face any challenges that come their way. Our younger children have also excelled this year . In year 1, 85% of the children passed their phonics screening test, which is well above the national average. KS1 results (which are not published nationally) indicate that once again at Wroxall, year 2 children are well above the national average for reading, writing and maths. Well done to all!
