So, how does ehabitation work?

Using state-of-the-art Z-wave technology, ehabitation operates very much like any other wireless device. Once the Beacon Lighting ehabitation application is installed on your computer, iPhone, iPad it talks to the Vera MiOS Gateway, wirelessly relaying your commands to the various ehabitation switches that you have around your home.

Easily affordable

ehabita Unlike some other home automation systems, ehabitation is affordable and extremely easy to use. It can be installed in new homes or retrofit into existing homes. Some components are DIY, such as the plug in appliance switch for lamps and general appliances. You don’t have to damage walls or lay expensive cables.

The new wave of wireless

Exciting new Z-wave technology is the brains behind ehabitation. Think of it as your own automated personal assistant. At your command, it passes information between switches in your home. You can start with a very simple, low cost system and build it to automate more items in your home. The unique low radio frequency of (921.42 MHz) Z-wave prevents any interference from other wireless devices you may have in your home, and there is no chance of interference from any neighbouring Z-wave systems. It’s fast, reliable and always at your beck and call.

Operate by iPad or iPhone

Your iPhone or iPad acts as a remote control for the ehabitation system. Just tap the icon to see all the controls to your home. Everything that is included in your ehabitation home is accessible. The Beacon Automation application talks to the Vera MiOS Gateway, which then wirelessly relays your commands to the various switches that you have around your home.

The Vera MiOS Gateway controls and automates all your ehabitation products and is accessible from anywhere in the world. Essentially, it is a dashboard for all the devices you set it to control through the one web-based interface. Once you have created your perfect home scenario on the dashboard, you can control it from your computer, iPad or iPhone from within the house or anywhere in the world.

Plug In Switch Smart savings.

No electrician is needed to install the Plug In Switch - just plug it into any appliance and it’s ready for on/off automation and scheduling. It can also report energy usage in real time. This data is then fed back to the Vera MiOS Gateway allowing you to see which appliances are using too much electricity. Measuring 9.5x6.5cm and controlling up to 2300 watts, it’s a discreetly smart accessory.

In Wall Switch Save money, save energy.

The In Wall Switch is wired into your wall or behind an existing switch. It allows you to operate your lighting and appliances via your iPhone, iPad or computer, while still allowing manual operation. To achieve perfect lighting in your home (and avoid the common problem of over lighting), you can create a beautiful ambience for each room simply by setting a scene in the dashboard. You can also save money and energy by switching off lights at set times. Ideal for security, you can schedule your lights to come on while you’re on holidays to give the appearance that there is someone home. The In Wall Switch is discreet and small, just 5x5x2cm and can control up to 2300 watts. Built into the In Wall Switch is an energy-monitoring feature that sends information directly to your device, allowing you to see how much energy each light/appliance is using. The In Wall Switch can be used individually or as part of a scene, and can switch off appliances that are on standby, or schedule appliances so that they only operate exactly when they are needed. This innovative feature will allow you to reduce your energy consumption – and cut your power costs. Note: Hard wired products such as this In Wall Switch must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Door/Window Sensor Open sesame!

The Door/Window Sensor gives you the magic touch to control scenes when you open or close your doors, windows and gates. Set it to turn your lights on/off when you open your front door or garage. Place one on your bathroom door and if you need to get up in the middle of the night, your bathroom lights can be switched on automatically. It’s an easy way to save money and energy.

IP Camera

With an IP camera added to your ehabitation system, you can see exactly what’s happening in your home as it happens - from anywhere in the world on your iPhone, iPad or computer. The IP camera gives you the ability to view your home remotely. See if the kids got home from school safely, check the pets whilst away for the weekend or make sure your house survives the approaching storm.

Home Energy Meter Cut your power costs.

The easiest way to save money and energy is to monitor which appliances and lights use the most electricity in your home. The Home Energy Meter works with ehabitation to do just that, monitoring the total amount of energy you’re using in your home and wirelessly reporting the kWh and wattage usage to the Home Control Server. You can then automate your home to become more energy efficient and reduce your electricity bills. The Home Energy Meter uses a clamp attached to your mains cable to give you an accurate energy reading and must be installed by a licensed electrician.
