Instructions: 1. Open the program by clicking on the MasterWorks Lite the desktop.

2. Click on the down arrow next to the Cross Stitch Wizard

Select the Auto Digitizing Wizard from the fly out. Click on Select Image and retrieve the image from the location where the image has been downloaded and saved. Click on the name of the image and Open. Click on Next to proceed to the Image Transformation field. In the Image Transformation field, rely on the size of the image and click on Next to continue to the Color Reduction field. In the Color Reduction field, no changes are needed. Click on Next to proceed to the Vectorizing field. Make no changes. Click on Next to move forward. In the Judgment field, click on Finish to send the design to the workspace. The design will be digitized. We will make several changes to the design before the design is complete and ready to embroider.

On the new page, click on the Text icon and left click anywhere on the workspace. • When the Properties for the text opens, type in “50” in the Text field. • Select Breeze Script from the drop down in the Font field. • Change the Height of the font to 45mm and click on Apply. • Change the color to a bright green using the color palette of your choice.

10. Repeat step 8 to produce the following phrase “The Big” in the Text field. Change the font size to 15mm, the Font to Block Compact, and the color to orange. 11. Under Sequence View, select All Items. 12. To make sure that the items are positioned properly, click on the Down arrow next to the Center

icon and select Horizontal Center Align.

13. Click on the Design 1 tab located above the workspace. This is the page with the digitized design. 14. Left click to select the yellow streamer. 15. Right click and choose Copy from the list of commands. 16. Open the Design 2 tab and right click. Select Paste from the list of commands. This will place the duplicated streamer on the same workspace as the lettering. 17. Change the color of the streamer to purple. 18. With the purple streamer selected, click on Rotate Right

and then

Flip Vertical . Move the streamer to the bottom right of the lettering (as shown in the illustration below).

19. Open Design 1 workspace and select the red streamer. 20. Right click and choose Copy from the list of commands. 21. Open Design 2 workspace. Right click and choose Paste from the list of commands to place the streamer on this workspace. 22. In the top right corner, outside of the selection box, is a blue circle. Place the cursor over the blue circle and left click to rotate the design and place the streamer on the top right side of the lettering (as shown in the illustration below). Blue Circle

23. Change the color of this streamer to yellow. 24. Copy and Paste each of the two streamers and then Flip Horizontal . Place the duplicated streamers to the left of the lettering. Change the colors to blue and pink (as shown in the illustration below).

25. Select each of the streamers and change the type of stitch by clicking on tool. the Auto Column 26. Click on the Design 1 tab and Copy and Paste several of the confetti pieces to Design 2 workspace. Re-color the confetti sections using the same colors used in the lettering and on the streamers. sections around the lettering and the streamers. (Use the illustration below for placement and coloring options.)

27. After all of the pieces have been placed and re-colored, select All Items and click on Color Sort . This will rearrange the stitch order so that all the same colors will embroider at the same time. This will eliminate thread changes and shorten the embroidery time. 28. Resize the complete design, if needed, so that it will fit in the largest hoop for your machine. 29. To save the design, click on File, Save As. Give your design a name Confetti and Streamers and save as a .blf working file format. 30. To embroider the design, click on File, Save As and save as a .pes file that your machine will read. Save to the media source that your machine will read. 31. Hoop the dissolve-away mesh stabilizer and spray with a temporary spray adhesive. 32. Fold the placemat in half horizontally and finger crease. Rotate the placemat and fold in half vertically and finger press. This will mark the center point of the placemat. 33. Place the horizontal fold line in the hoop matching up the side markings on the hoop with the fold line for perfect placement. Make sure that the vertical fold line is lined up with the markings on the top and bottom of the hoop. 34. Retrieve the design from the media source and embroider the design on each of the 4 placemats. 35. To create the design for the napkins, Copy and Paste three streamers on the Design 3 workspace. Save the design and embroider using the same hooping and stabilizing techniques used above. Place the design approximately 1 ½″ above the point of the napkin.
