Thank you to the United Methodist Men for honoring me with a Life Membership in United Methodist Men of Cold Springs United Methodist Men. It was indeed an honor to be recognized with this honor. Tommy Jones

Mission Trip to Clarksdale, MS In March of this year, as a foot of rain fell in Clarksdale, MS. A state of emergency was issued as many areas in were flooded that had never flooded before. One such area was East Park Subdivision, a division of the Rural Development, where 70-80 homes were damaged. In this low income county the residents do not have many resources and will need volunteers to help rebuild. They have had several groups visit the area to participate in cleaning out the mud and debris. Some rebuilding has begun, but there is still much work to do. We are scheduling a Mission Building Team to go in August. We will leave on Sunday, Aug 14 following worship and return Saturday, Aug 20 or Sunday, Aug 21. We have set these dates in the hope that some of our youth and parents will be able to participate while school is out. Please be in prayer for this Mission Building Team! If you are interested in participating, please sign up on the attendance sheet or contact the church office so we can move forward as we seek to be the hands and feet of Christ. “Red – White – Blue Sunday” - July 3 - According to church history records, Cold Springs has been observing “Red-White-Blue Sunday” since 2001 in honor of Independence Day. Let’s celebrate this special day as we dress in our patriotic colors by wearing Red-White-Blue next Sunday, July 3. As we wear our RedWhite & Blue, we reinforce the pride we have in the flag and its symbol of freedom for all. The American Flag consists of 13 horizontal stripes, 7 red alternating with 6 white. The stripes represent the original thirteen colonies, the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic: Red symbolizes Hardiness and Valor, White symbolizes Purity and Innocence, and Blue represents Vigilance, Perseverance, and Justice.
