history of sela The Laboratoire Abadie, founded in 1920, one of the foremost pioneers in the field of fluorescent tubes, was at the origin of our company. Many of the technics used during the manufacturing of this type of lighting are mere applications of Laboratoire ABADIE patents. In 1953, the Laboratoire ABADIE started specializing in the field of aeronautical lighting, which was rapidly developed at that time and which required highly reliable and precise components. The mutation of the Laboratoire Abadie into SELA entity occurred in 1960. Our company then extended its activities to the production of its own power supply systems to compensate for the lack of reliable and high performance power supply units on the market. Since the very beginning, our company has been devoted to the technological research and manufacturing quality. That is why so many great names from the world trust us. Entering XXIst century, SELA has improved all its lighting product ranges with LED technology, LED mood-lighting systems and dedicated software.

Clematis ®

illuminates your Desires CLEMATIS® is a smart complete RGBW LED lighting system. From the light sources to the lighting management network, we propose you to create billion of colors in your cabin. Take your smartphone or your tablet, open SELA link and relax… The principal network controls a dimmer sequencer box (storing color settings and scenarios) for several lights.

We can extend the system simply by adding dimmer sequencer boxes, with no modifications to the principal control network system. In terms of colors rendering, the white light reproduces 90 % of sunlight. In addition, it offers full homogeneity and stabilized colors for the complete visible spectrum. The dimmer sequencer can work in standalone mode, linked to push buttons so passengers can trigger scenarios or adjust the colour and brightness of individual lights. It can also be synchronized with other dimmer boxes, receiving scenario instructions from the network master box, the Master Light. The Master Light also enables interface with other cabin equipment, as it is equipped with a WiFi hub, Bluetooth, internet network, audio and video inputs. Our concept is to simplify the interface with the Cabin Management System (CMS). The CMS sends basic instructions to the Master Light, which manages the lights. This allows easy adaptation for any type of CMS. Our lighting Designer customizes the lighting according to the client’s requirements, managing the fine tuning, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connection to the Master Light box and the programming. He can also participate in the development and modification.

Cabin direct lighting With more than 50 years of aircraft lighting experience and a complete LED products range on the shelf, SELA is always seeking for the highest quality lighting rendering. SELA has high quality white and RGBW LED light sources allowing to obtain an excellent color rendering index (CRI)  : a CRI higher to 90 (from 3000 to 6600 K°) in white color configuration, very close to the sun light CRI of 100 %. Our cabin lights are completely compatible with our CLEMATIS® programming interface system. From our indirect lights to our direct lighting systems all your cabin can be controlled with dedicated scenarios. Our cabin lights are mechanically designed in order to match with the cabin interior dedicated area. From waterproof spot lights in the shower to your customized reading light above your seat, we design your need. On the other side, SELA manufactures and supplies its own LED bulbs in MR11 / BA15S and BA9S bases which are completely interchangeable with standard incandescent and halogen bulbs. In different white LED colors or RGB-W LED colors, our LED bulbs can easily replace old generation bulbs without removal of the existing ceiling light fixtures. Flap or needle valve systems,

some of our air outlets have specific internal parts in order to compensate different plating thicknesses, ensuring a continuous force on the ball joint rotation (auto lubrication), in order to avoid any scratch.

Cabin indirect lighting In addition to our CLEMATIS® SYSTEM, we propose you a complete range of white LED tubes in direct 115 VAC or 28 VDC supplies. From warm white to natural and cool whites, our LED tubes have a color rendering index higher to 90, giving to your cabin interior a natural illumination comfort and wellness feeling. For a new cabin installation or a cabin lighting upgrade, we propose you several LED tube lengths allowing an easy

cabin lighting arrangement. The use of reliable power LED sources, secured “SJS” type connectors and “in tube” power supplies are the right combination for an easy and quick installation of bright ambient indirect lighting. With 25 different lengths for our 28 VDC LED tubes and 18 lengths for our 115 VAC LED tubes, our engineering department can support you at any time during the tubes cabin positioning in 3D installation or according to a layout drawing. Along with our LED tubes, we supply you with the control and dimmer boxes. In any configuration, we will adapt the lighting control you may need. From step dimming or variable dim to a fully CLEMATIS® compatible network including software interface and scenarios dynamic, we create the right mood in the right place. Emergency lighting and floor lighting In cockpit conditions or in cabin zone, SELA supplies a full range of Emergency and Floor lighting systems. Our LED dome lights in ceiling are equipped with a 28 V center main ambient lighting and a second input in 6 VDC is designed to the emergency lighting. The same connector in the back side of the dome light includes two 28 V inputs (Ambient center lighting and back up lighting) and one 6 VDC input is dedicated to emergency lighting. The SELA dome lights are compliant with FAR 25 standard. If only a 6VDC emergency lighting is required, SELA proposes its fix LED spot lights for any area (cabin, flight deck, cargo…). We have designed a complete range of back lighted panels installed over instruments and indicators for light helicopters cockpit. If emergency conditions are required, the pilots can switch the SELA complete cockpit panel to 6 VDC emergency lighting, since already integrated within SELA products. Regarding floor illumination, a full range of SELA fix LED small point lights in 6 VDC, 12 VDC, 28 VDC or 28 VAC, is

available. Compared to a traditional floor path marking, the installation of this kind of small light fixtures is simplified by the mean of either a simple nut or an insert that allows an easy removal by the front face. Our small LED point lights are available in several LED lighting colors: white, red, green, amber and yellow. Marking options are also proposed (arrow for direction indication). Our floor path lights product line is also composed of small rectangular modules including 6 VDC and 28 VDC inputs, managing at the same time emergency and comfort lighting with white and red lenses. SEAT LIGHTING We supply First Class and Business Class seats lighting of several flying airlines. Our LED lighting systems and associated electronic management systems are part of the passenger seat. From a standard snake light to a customized lighting fixture dedicated to the Airline specific requirements, we design and manufacture lighting for the passenger comfort.

VIP DECORATIVE LIGHTS With the support of our Design partner, Plus33 Design Studio, SELA proposes you also to Design, develop and manufacture your own complete new decorative lights.

Our engineering department working under CATIA V5 is able to develop any specific decorative light according to your custom design. From sconce lights to any wall mounted lamp, from desk lamps to bed lighting, we build up your decorative light from your initial rendering to the end product. SELA has developed a complete range of customized decorative lights according to Corporate, VIP and VVIP cabin aircraft requirements. This product line is generally submitted to non-disclosure agreements with our customers, due to specific design reasons. SELA supplies its decorative lights with qualification test reports (stress analysis, abuse load…). We deliver you the product completely finished including decorative plating, and any leather or fabric stitched or glued.

YACHTING INTERIOR LIGHTS From the skies, on Corporate, VIP and VVIP aircraft cabin interiors, to the sea, on luxury Yacht interiors, we adapt systematically our customized lighting products line to corresponding environmental conditions, specific Design requirements and electrical dedicated standards.

From New Zealand to French shipyards, we design and develop dedicated Yacht interior LED lighting systems in white or colored mood lighting systems. We have easily adapted our aircraft lighting products to yachting market as Design requirements between our flying customers and our yachting customers are closed in terms of finishing and lighting. MILITARY LIGHTING SYSTEMS SELA has a very long expertise and experience in the supply of military lighting systems.

and including flat indicators, LED back lighted inscriptions and instruments homogeneous lighting rendering.

We equipped the first military aircraft in 1960 with the cockpit lighting upgrade of the French Air Force MIRAGE IIIB fleet and all the following MIRAGE aircraft models including the MIRAGE 2000.

Our lighting systems compliance is systematically controlled in house with our spectroradiometer and a complete conformity with MIL-L-85762A and MIL-STD 3009 is assured.

For more than 50 years now, we have worked and we are still working in partnership with several aircraft and helicopter manufacturers for serial military lighting installation. SELA is the inventor of the cockpit UV fluorescent tubes lighting with a yellow Saturn painting principle on cockpit instruments. This Night Vision Goggles (NVG) compatible lighting system has been approved and installed in a complete fleet of helicopters models from light to heavy models during all the last decades including the last multiroles modern helicopters. The same UV lighting system has been installed on C-160 TRANSALL cargo aircraft fleet. During the last decade, SELA has designed, developed and supplied new military LED lighting systems giving a full NVIS compatibility. In partnership with our customers, we have created innovative back lighted panels in 5 mm thickness only
