“Lozärner Läbchueche” Gingerbread
Bring some Lucerne Christmas atmosphere home with you Ingredients: 2 1/2 dl

“Birnenhonig” pear syrup
1/2 dl Träsch or kirsch eau-de-vie 100 g
Sugar
40 g
Candied orange and lemon peel
1/2 tsp
Cinnamon
1/2 tsp
Aniseed
Tiny pinch of nutmeg and clove powder 1
Pinch salt
1 tsp
Sodium bicarbonate or baking powder
500 g
Wholegrain flour
1 1/2 dl
Milk
2 dsp
“Birnenhonig” pear syrup for coating
Instructions: Lightly whip the cream and blend in the pear syrup, eau-devie, peel, sugar and spices. Add the sifted flour and sodium bicarbonate or baking powder. Knead the mixture into a soft dough with the milk. Create a mound with the dough, place on a circular baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven (180 degrees) for 40-45 minutes. Coat the gingerbread with the pear syrup while still warm. Serve with fresh butter, pear syrup or slightly sweetened whipped cream.
