RCIA Information

Parking Lot update: We’re continuing to make progress toward our new parking lot on Long Ave.

Are you called by God to join the Catholic Church? Do you know someone who is?

We have completed tree removal, asbestos abatement, and a survey; an engineering assessment has been completed, and we are gathering bids on demolition and construction.

RCIA (the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) seeks to instruct those who have never been baptized, those validly baptized in another Christian tradition, or those who were baptized Catholic but never catechized or confirmed. Our third summer Inquiry Session is August 13, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room. Our regular weekly meetings will resume on Sept. 3.

Some appliances and other items in the Long Ave. structure are still available (e.g., the wooden fencing would make great kindling!) Please contact the parish office to set up an appointment for pick up. A donation to the parking lot fund for items you have gathered would be greatly appreciated!

Questions? Call Deacon Ross Ronish at 371-0994.

We are in need of funds to continue this project. We’ll be asking for YOUR help!

Carmelite News

Christ the King School News Summer Office Hours: The school office will reopen on Monday, August 10. Regular office hours will resume on August 24.

Carmelite Corner Join our Carmelite Family in our Act of Consecration to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel:

Enrollment: Christ the King School still has openings in our K-8th grade classes. If interested, please contact the school office at 946-6158.

O Mary, Queen and Mother of Carmel, I come today to consecrate myself to you, for my whole life is but a small return for the many graces and blessings that have come from God to me through your hands. Since you regard with an eye of special kindness those who wear your Scapular, I implore you to strengthen my weakness with your power, to enlighten the darkness of my mind with your wisdom, to increase in me faith, hope and charity that I may render, day by day, my debt of humble homage to you.

Sausage Fest News

May your Scapular keep your eyes of mercy turned towards me and bring me your special protection in the daily struggle to be faithful to your Divine Son and to you.

Sausage Fest 2015 is fast approaching! Event leaders are reminded of remaining meeting dates and times. All meetings are held in the CK School library.

May it separate me from all that is sinful in life and remind me constantly of my duty to behold you and clothe myself with your virtues. From henceforth I shall strive to live in the sweet companionship of your spirit, to offer all to Jesus through you and to make my life the mirror of your humility, charity, patience, meekness and prayerfulness.

Monday, July 20 @ 7:00 p.m. Monday August 17 @ 7:00 p.m. Wednesday September 2 @ 7:00 p.m. Some Chair/Assistant Chair positions are still open:

O dearest Mother, support me, by your never-failing love that I, an unworthy sinner, may come one day to exchange your Scapular for the wedding garment of heaven and dwell with you and saints of Carmel in the kingdom of your Son. Amen COME AND SEE at our inquiry meeting on the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Thursday, July 16, 7:00 p.m. in our Multipurpose Room.

Spiritual Practices

All of the sick members of our parish — especially these: Jill Airoldi, friend of Kris Allen Helen Jordan

Ignatian Spirituality In a book called What’s Your Decision, authors Sparough, Manney, and Hipskind discuss Godly decision making. God cares about our decisions, they write. St. Ignatius of Loyola expressed this same truth in his Spiritual Exercises. He invented a decision-making process that allows everyone to make good, Godcentered decisions. The Spiritual Exercises teach us how to do this. And we start with the foundation as we ask: What do I believe about God? If we see God as unconcerned about our actions or choices, we won’t think to ask God about any decision. But when we see God as loving creator who loves us passionately and shows us how to be happy moment by moment, we can begin to discern.
