All outstanding referrals appear at the top of the screen. Click on the name of the service to action that referral.

After entry of your two security word letters click the submit button to access the service

Enter your name in the ‘practitioner name’ field to access the service. (If you have not yet enrolled, complete the ‘Chlamydia Treatment – Enrolment Registration’ service first.)

Reject referral. If you are not able to complete the treatment stage, note your reasons in the box and the Chlamydia Screening Office will be notified. Accept. Choose this option if you are accepting the referral in order to complete the treatment service later. Complete now. This option will allow you to see and complete the Chlamydia Treatment Service question set.

Most questions will not allow you to leave them blank, so please make sure you select one option, if none apply, select the option not applicable. Some answers must be selected from drop down boxes, others are date entry questions, NB: Make sure date entry questions are entered using the required format.

The left hand side bar will often provide useful information that is relevant to your consultation. Side bars in each area show different information that is relevant to that locality Some questions will only accept one answer e.g. inclusion below, if the client cannot be included and a “no” answer is recorded data cannot be validated. These clients should be referred. Again with the exclusion questions, if any apply you will not be able to save data. To proceed with supply you must select “None apply – Proceed” as the option here.

Chlamydia Treatment Service Guide The medicine supply field is linked to the Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d). Start to type in medicine name and select the preferred treatment from the list. Make sure the quantity field shows 4 if one pack of 4 tablets is supplied as dm+d calculates reimbursement against the total quantity not per pack. Record manufacturer and batch number. Complete all remaining fields and click the orange save button. Clicking the “Save” button will populate the commissioner audit and submit a service claim for the provision. You do not need to manually submit claims or send any paper returns as the system automates this process. Information on amounts paid by the commissioner can be viewed from the “Claims” tab via the link under the orange heading “Claim Amounts” that is found in the left hand side bar of this page. See Fig 9.

Fig 9 – Claim information A GP notification will be automatically sent when data is saved. As above when all questions have been answered, click the “save” button at the bottom of the page to validate the data collected. Saving the data will automatically send a GP notification of treatment to the patients GP if they have consented for this. The notification is sent using the systems in-built nhs.net capability. Saving data will also populate the audit of service and the payment claim for the pharmacy. Chlamydia Treatment Service Guide This action will bring up a prompt saying “The form was validated and the data has been saved” You can also print a copy of the notification at this stage if necessary. Be aware of alerts that will appear in your service screen if a GP notification could not be sent by email. A clear prompt will appear with a link in the main service screen that allows a hard copy of the notification to be printed and sent manually. Please click the sent manually button to remove the prompt. Please refer to the other guides available on the help page to explain more PharmOutcomes functionality.
