Charity Partnership Guidance & Application Form Guidance About Morrisons At Morrisons we’re food maker and shopkeepers. We’re one of the UK’s biggest food retailers with 492 stores and we’re the only British supermarket to have our own food processing sites and abattoirs. We are unique in making almost a quarter of the food we sell in store ourselves, giving us unrivalled control over our supply chain. And we have more skilled specialists on hand to prepare more fresh food in store than any other retailer, with over 6,000 fully trained crafts people in our stores including butchers, bakers, fishmongers and cheesemongers. Every week, over 11 million customers pass through our doors and more than 117,000 colleagues across the business work hard each day to deliver great service to them. Our aim is to give our customers more of what matters to them, offering great quality food at low prices. We’re passionate about being a truly local retailer and our charity activity must reflect this. The Raise a Smile Charity Partnership Morrisons has a long history of supporting great causes through our ‘Raise A Smile’ charity partnership programme. We raised £7.1m for Save the Children between 2011 and 2014, and we’re on track to exceed this with our current partner Sue Ryder between 2014 and 2017. Our colleagues are vital to the success of our partnership - the majority of the money we raise comes from colleague based fundraising activity across our stores, sites and offices. The business also supports the partnership through causerelated marketing campaigns, designated charity products and proceeds from carrier bag charging in England. In addition to Raise A Smile, we have our own corporate charity foundation, www.morrisonsfoundation.com The Process As our partnership with Sue Ryder comes to end we’re ready to begin the process to find our next charity partner. Our intention is that our next partnership will last for three years, from 1st February 2017 to 1st February 2020. The process by which our next partner will be selected is as follows. 16th May to 16th June
