Thank You Friends, Neighbors and Family Bark For The Cure – Chapparal Dog Swim

Kristen and I want to thank our family, friends, neighbors, boy scouts and the students from both Grandview and Regis for helping us with Bark For The Cure. A special thank you to the Metro Board for allowing me to hold the event. The weather was perfect, and it looked like the dogs enjoyed their special day at the Chapparal pool. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network thanks each of you for your generous donations to help those affected by this disease. Kristen and I appreciate the support from the community and know how much this would have meant to Spence. (See pictures scattered throughout the newsletter) — Laura Matthews, lm31matthews@gmail

Notes from the CMD

We hope everyone enjoyed the summer swim season. We’d like to thank everyone at Front Range Recreation, especially our great life guards,  for another great year.    You may have noticed the construction of entry signs has begun  at Chapparal’s three “secondary” entrances on Easter, Hinsdale, and Flanders.  Everything should be finished in the next few weeks.
 — Tom Lash

The Cherry Creek School District thanks all the parents who utilized the new Online Check-in System to fill out important forms for the new school year. The district’s Information Systems Department spent 18 months developing, testing and implementing the new system, which saves parents time because they do not have to enter the same information on multiple forms. They can also update information, such as a change in a cell phone number, at any time during the year. During the regular Board of Education meeting on Sept. 10, Dr. Scott Siegfried, Assistant Superintendent for Educational Support Services, reported that the online system also saves time for school staff members, who do not have to enter data into the system. In addition, the online system will save approximately 624,000 pieces of paper! NOTE TO PARENTS: During the Online Check-in process, some parents overlooked the opportunity to authorize their email contact information for use by their school and PTO/PTCO for important communication. If you believe you may not have subscribed to your school’s email communication tool, please log back in to mycherrycreekschools.org, click on Parent Forms, then scroll down and select Yes on this item: Would you like your contact information (parent name, student name, home phone, email) to be forwarded to your school’s PTO group(s) for all students in this household? 2012 VETERANS WEEK IN CHERRY CREEK SCHOOLS The Cherry Creek School District will again honor our nation’s veterans and active duty military personnel with educational events and community celebrations at every school in the district.
