GUEST PASSES The purpose of our guest pass policy is to enhance member service to current members who are encouraging a friend to join or have an out of town visitor. Each membership is allotted 3 guest passes per year. Guests are limited to 3 visits per year. After that, we encourage guests to take out their own Y membership.

DAY PASSES Non-Members are guests at the Smithfield YMCA and have limited access to Y facilities. Day passes can be purchased at the Courtesy Desk with a valid photo ID. If a photo ID is not present, the Y has the right to refuse entry. A Waiver of Liability must also be signed at the time of payment. Children must be at least 14 years old to purchases a day pass. All day passes are $15 each, per day.

PROGRAM PARTICIPANT CARD Program Participants that are not members of the Smithfield Y will be given a Program Participant Card. Please leave this card at the Courtesy Desk upon check -in and pick your card up at check-out.

YMCA MEMBERSHIP POLICY There are NO refunds on Y memberships. If you would like to cancel your bank draft membership the Y requires 15 days written notice.

PRE-K ENRICHMENT PROGRAM Ages 3

The Smithfield YMCA’s Pre-K Enrichment Program prepares children for Kindergarten by teaching alphabet recognition, number recognition, shapes, colors, community safety, counting, gross motor skills, such as hand over hand cutting and so much more! The Pre-K Program begins on September 8th and runs through June 5, 2015. The children enrolled will receive progress evaluations twice throughout the year to help gauge the learning progress of each child. At the end of the year, children will participate in a Pre-K Graduation ceremony where family and friends are invited to attend. Children participate in free swim every Monday and will receive a swim lesson every Wednesday which will help to build confidence in the water and their everyday lives! Fees are based on a monthly rate and will be automatically deducted from a savings or checking account on the first of each month. Parents can choose from our regular care Pre-K Program that runs from 10:30 - 2:30 PM or our extended care program which runs from 10:00 - 3:00 PM. The extended care program offers parents extra time to tend to work, chores or siblings! During the 10:00 - 10:30 AM extended care and the 2:30 - 3:00 PM extended care, children will participate in play stations learning activities.

SCHOOL’S OUT PROGRAM -

Before School Child Care The Before School Child Care Program is for any child attending a Smithfield Public Elementary School including, William Winsor, Anna McCabe, Old County Road School and LaPerche. The Y provides morning child care for Kindergarteners through 5th graders. The Before School Program begins at 6:45 AM and breakfast is served daily until 7:30 AM. The YMCA will bus all children to their respective schools each day. All busses are monitored by a YMCA School’s Out Staff member. Children can choose from extra help with homework, quiet board games, arts and crafts or playground time (weather permitting) each morning. After School Child Care The After School Child Care Program is for any school-age child in grades K - 7. The After School Program picks children up from Gallagher Middle School, William Winsor, Anna McCabe, Old County and LaPerche schools. Upon arriving at the YMCA, the children will have 25 minutes of free play, followed by a healthy snack. There is a mandatory homework time and then children can choose from structured activities such as arts and crafts, sports, team building, swimming, etc. The latest pick-up time is 6:00 PM. Every Friday is FREE SWIM Friday!!!

**All School’s Out Participants can take swim lessons for $40/session! That’s a $28 savings per session. The Y School’s Out Staff will even bring children to their lesson and get them out of their lesson during school’s out hours!**

Pre-school swim lessons are for children alone. There will be a maximum of 6 children per 1 swim instructor in each class. Some classes even have 2 swim instructors for up to 6 children. Children will progress through lessons at their own rate, and it is important to understand that children will not pass or fail a level, however they will move up when the instructor feels that they are ready. Water Works Water Works is a medium to low impact water aerobic class for all fitness levels. This high energy cardio blast class will help increase circulation while it gets your heart pumping and your muscles moving. Water Works combines cardio exercises with water weights for a complete body workout. Class will take place in the shallow and deep ends. All exercises can be performed in the shallow end for any participant that does not want to travel to deeper water. Monday Wednesday

Private swim lessons are designed to help children swim one- on- one with a qualified instructor. Semi-Private lessons are for up to two swimmers. All lessons are a half an hour each. Private Lessons must be paid for at the time of booking. All lessons must be scheduled through the Aquatic Director at ext 16.

Let the Smithfield YMCA host your next Birthday Party to keep the fun the same but the mess out of your house! Each party rental is provided with a Party Hostess and 1 lifeguard for up to 25 children (additional children will receive a 2nd lifeguard for an additional fee). The Party Hostess will set-up all the tables, chairs, food, refreshments and cater to any special requests that you may have.

Create Your Own Lesson The Smithfield YMCA is offering a brand new opportunity for swim participants. It’s simple and rewarding! Have you ever wanted to put your child in swim lessons but wished they could be with their friends, or do you wish you could socialize with your friends while your children enjoy lessons together? If so, this is the program for you! Gather a group of friends/relatives and call the Aquatic Director. We will schedule a group lesson during a time that YOU PICK! You can have a minimum of 3 children and a maximum of 6 children in a lesson! Member/Non

Make-Up Lessons Pre-School and Youth make-up lessons are for children who miss class due to illness ONLY. Make up classes must be scheduled with the Aquatic Director at 949-2480 ext 106. Make-ups are pending availability. *If your child attends each swim lesson of the session, on the day and time they registered for, you will earn $10 Y Dollars toward another session of lessons or any Y Program!

Parties are held on Saturdays from 4:00 - 6:00 PM and 5:30 - 7:30 PM and on Sundays from 12:15 - 2:15 pm. Children will swim first, followed by eat food, play games and open presents! All rentals must be paid in full at the time of reservation. Up to 1 Birthday Child may be added for a fee of $50. The first hour of your party will be spent swimming with friends. Parties will spend the second hour in the Party Room eating, opening gifts and playing any games that you have planned. For children ages 5 and below, there must be at least 1 adult per every 5 children in the pool. No outside floatation allowed. The Y will provide floatation for children. Members: $220 (up to 25 children) Members: $255 (over 25 children) Non-Member: $305 (up to 25 children) Non-Member: $340 (over 25 children)

ADULT & FAMILY SWIM AVAILABILITY Winter I Session~ January 5 - February 21 Pool Rules

Per State Law of RI, all swimmers must take a cleansing shower before entering the swimming pool. Lap lanes are for lap swimmers only and Y aquatic equipment such as kickboards and barbells are to be used during Y Programs only. The Y provides 1, 2 and 3 bubbles for children that require flotation. Please feel free to help yourself to a bubble. A complete list of Pool Rules are posted in the pool area and enforced by the lifeguards. Please, no food or drink in the pool area or the locker rooms.

Pool Information The Smithfield YMCA’s swimming pool is 25 yards long and 5 lap lanes wide with a depth of 3 feet, 6 inches in the shallow end and 10 feet, 6 inches in the deep end. One swimming mile is 1,650 yards which is equivalent to 66 lengths or 33 laps of the pool.

Locker Room Information The Women’s Locker Room is for Women ONLY. Anyone accompanying a child of the opposite sex must use the Family Locker Room. The Family Locker Room is designed specifically for that purpose. The Men’s Locker Room is for men ONLY. Anyone accompanying a child of the opposite sex must use the Family Locker Room. The Family Locker Room is designed specifically for that purpose. The Family Locker Room is designed for parents and guardians with children. This locker room consists of 5 private changing rooms and 4 private bathroom stalls. Clothes MUST be worn in the common area at all times.

Health & Wellness Class Descriptions It’s Your Move – Join Nancy in this moderate cardio class using steps and stretching, combined with weights, for a full body workout for all ability levels. Cardio Kickboxing with Kim & Core Focus – This fast-paced kickboxing class combines kicking and punching combinations with cardio exercise for a complete body, muscle-building workout. Twenty minutes of Core Focus will follow and builds and strengthens core muscles. You WILL sweat! Pilates/Pilates on the Ball – Pilates emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength and flexibility. Bring a workout/balance ball to Pilates on the Ball and you will feel muscles burning, flexibility increasing and your core working! (The Y does have a few balls if you would like to try a class & don’t have a ball) Hatha Yoga – Barbara holds a master’s degree in Holistic Counseling and is a certified instructor of Hatha, Prenatal and Therapeutic Yoga. Hatha Yoga is appropriate for all levels. Students warm up with gentle breathing, stretching and centering exercises, followed by flowing postures. Class ends with a final relaxation and meditation. Indoor Walking Aerobics – if you can walk, you can get in shape. Loriann will lead the during this indoor class that you can walk for miles but never leave the room! Great for the cold winter months! Vinyasa Yoga – Angel is a Certified Yoga instructor teaching Vinyasa to students of all abilities. Angel will modify any yoga pose or posture to accommodate all fitness levels.
