Arrive on Monday 24th December where a welcoming glass of mulled wine awaits, followed by a carol concert for all at 5pm.

Start the day with our cooked to order Northumbrian breakfast.

A sumptuous three course dinner is served in our award winning Library Restaurant and after dinner, guests are invited to join our Torchlit procession to Matfen Village Church in time for midnight mass.

After breakfast, relax in our extensive leisure club or take a walk into the village or around the grounds. You could book a treatment in the Spa or simply soak up the festive atmosphere in our Conservatory Bar or with a book by the Drawing Room fire.

A whisky or sherry and warm mince pies await you on your return to the Hotel, before retiring to bed.

Enjoy Champagne and canapés before taking your seat for a truly spectacular Christmas Day Lunch.

Boxing Day The afternoon is yours to enjoy, either with the Queen’s Speech in our Summer Room or embarking on a bracing walk in the stunning countryside surrounding Matfen Hall. The day concludes with our resident guitarist playing in the Drawing Room and an informal supper.

After breakfast, get involved in a range of fun activities, play nine holes on our Championship Golf Course, take a swim, sauna or test your skills with board games and banter by the roaring fire. Time for a final stroll before breakfast, for those of you that must leave us we bid you a fond farewell.

Should you wish to continue your break, additional nights are available. Upgrade options: Deluxe bedroom upgrades from £70.00 per room for 2 nights Premier bedroom upgrades from £140.00 per room for 2 nights. A deposit of £100.00 per person (non-refundable) at time of booking and balance to be paid by 30th November 2012.

Join us for a fantastic evening of dining with entertainment from either our Michael Bublé tribute act Ben Jenkins, or our jazz and Motown singer, Natalie Dean. The evening commences at 7:30pm with festive fizz and handmade canapés under the Christmas tree in our Great Hall.
