Registration Fees All class fees are payable at registration. Cash, check or credit card may be used to pay fees. Some programs require additional fees for supplies.

Registration Deadline: 3 Days Prior to Class Starting Date Please register at least three days before class starts. All classes must have a minimum number of students in order to be held. If you have registered for a class where the enrollment falls below the minimum participants required, we will notify you of its cancellation.

Refunds Refund or Transfer Policy When a course is cancelled by the Cedar Hill Park and Recreation Center due to low enrollment or other circumstances, participants will be offered a transfer to another class or receive a full refund. Participant initiated refunds and transfers will be considered when a participant: 1) Submits a written request at least 3 days prior to the starting date of the course 2) Moves from the area 3) Becomes ill The class schedule is published for information purposes only. We strive to produce the most accurate guide possible; however, some program information may have changed after this guide went to print.

Senior Center Senior Center

Cedar Hill Senior Center 1740 Mansfield Dr. Phone: 972.291.5353 Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday: 8:00 am-4:00 pm Saturday-Sunday: Closed Senior Center membership is free and everyone, ages 50 and over, is welcome. A membership registration form is required and must be completed before participation. Transportation is available to and from the Senior Center for Cedar Hill residents only. There is no fee for the service, but transportation is ONLY for those that do not drive or have no other means of transportation. Call 469-853-5374 to schedule a ride. A monthly calendar is published each month with a daily schedule of activities and trips. The calendar is available online at cedarhilltx.com/seniorcenter. Anyone interested in joining the center or needing additional information, please call 972-291-5353 or come by the center at 1740 Mansfield Road during business hours. Fitness Center The Cedar Hill Recreation Center features a 3,500 square foot state-of-the-art fitness area containing a three lane walking/jogging track (13 laps = 1 mile). The fitness area includes 42 cardio machines and 27 of them are equipped with LCD TV’s, 21 strength machines, free weights and six 52” plasma televisions. There are 9 ellipticals, 10 treadmills, 5 recumbent bikes, 2 stationary bikes, 2 Precor Adaptive Motion Trainers and 1 stairmaster. The strength equipment includes stationary machines for the upper and lower body. There is a free weight area with a variety of weight sizes.

The fitness area has added a new Matrix Functional Trainer plus replaced five Precor recumbent bikes and two Precor Elliptical machines featuring the P80 Console. The Matrix Trainer combines functional design and enhanced strength training, creating a machine that takes form, function and fitness to entirely new levels. Fitness User Requirements • All users must wear appropriate athletic shoes. • Open toe sandals, flip flops, etc. are not permitted for safety reasons. No hard-soled shoes or spiked heels allowed. • Strollers are not permitted in the fitness area. • Spitting is prohibited. • No one younger than 12 permitted in fitness area. • Youth 12-15 are permitted to use the fitness area after attending an orientation session and have a waiver signed by parent/guardian. • Youth 12-13 must have a parent/guardian present while the youth is working out. • Teens 14-17 need a signed liability waiver with parent/guardian signature. • Facility users 18 and older are required to sign their own liability waiver.

Heartsaversm AED CPR Course

Ages 10 and over This American Heart Associationsm course is designed to prepare a wide variety of people who, as first responders, may need to perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED) or help someone who is choking. This is a Healthcare Provider CPR approved course. A completion card is awarded to those who complete/ demonstrate the skills test. Call 972.293.5288 for dates. The Cedar Hill Recreation Center features 5,400 square feet of versatile meeting space. Guests have the option of using the entire meeting space as one room or splitting the area into separate rooms (up to four individual rooms). Each room is adjacent to an outdoor patio and small pond with a beautiful fountain and offers a variety of audio/ visual equipment for use. Rooms can be reserved up to twelve (12) months in advance and no less than fourteen (14) days prior to event, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Lessee must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older to reserve the facility and must provide verification of age and physical address with current Texas Driver’s License or Identification Card. Lessee is restricted to only one rental on the books at a time and rentals require a two (2) hour minimum. Rental Hours are specified on the contract and must include time for decorating, clean up and removal of property.

Set-Up, Equipment and Cleaning Policy

Deposits and Cancellations RENTAL DEPOSIT AND TOTAL RENTAL FEES ARE DUE AT THE TIME OF RESERVATION. The rental deposit is not applied towards the rental fee, and will be refunded in full when all conditions specified on the contract are met. Reservation cancellations or changes will only be accepted directly from the lessee in person. All cancellations must be made by the contract holder and in writing at the Recreation Center. Cancellations made at least sixty (60) days prior to the rental will qualify for a full refund, cancellations made at least thirty (30) days prior to the rental will qualify for a refund of rental fees only, and any cancellations made within thirty (30) days of the event 68 Register at cedarhilltx.com

Set-up fee includes one set-up and break down of tables and chairs per rental. Set-Up includes 72’ round tables for seating and 6’ rectangle tables. Room set up is due no later than 2 weeks prior to the event. The following amenities are available for your use during the rental at no charge, projector and screen, microphone, DVD/CD/ MP3 player (compatible for iPods), and plasma TV. Staging/riser is available for an additional fee ($25 per 4’ x 8’ section, 8 sections, skirting included). Clean-up must be completed before end of rental time.

Alcohol Policy Events serving alcohol are required to purchase an alcohol permit for $50.00 and to reserve on-site Cedar Hill Police Department officers(s) through the Recreation Center (1 officer per 50 guests is required, $45 per hour per officer, for a minimum of four (4) hours). Officers must be present from the time alcohol is served until the end of the reserved time. Serving alcohol prior to the reserved time or failure to reserve police officers for an event serving alcohol will result in the event being shut down and all attendees required to vacate the premises immediately.

Youth/Teen Event Policy Events with fifty (50) or less youth/teens are required to have a chaperone ration of 1 adult per 10 youth. All events with fifty (50) or more youth/teens (ages 12 through 21)

1570 FM 1382, approximately 1,826 acres and 7,500 acre Joe Pool Lake. Park includes over 300 campsites, 100’s of picnic tables and barbeque grills, Joe Pool Marina, biking and hiking trails and tours of historical Penn Farm Agricultural Center. Cedar Mountain Nature Preserve

1300 W. FM 1382, approximately 110 acres. This special use park offers a .3 mile paved trail and a .7 mile unpaved nature trail. The preserve is a beautiful place to hike with friends and family.

Cedar Trails Park

940 Black Walnut Trail (Parkway Place Subdivision I, II, III & Cedar Trails), approximately 13 acres. This green belt and open space property offers 1 unlit pavilion with no electrical outlets containing 2 picnic tables, 1 play structure for children 5 to 12 years old and 1 basketball court with 2 baskets.

Crawford Park

This community park offers a pavilion containing 7 picnic tables (available for rental @ $25 per hour), a play structure for children 5 to 12 years old, a .2 mile paved trail, public restrooms, 1 baseball/softball field, 2 lighted tennis courts, 3 lighted basketball courts, 2 soccer fields, 3 grills, 3 picnic tables and 110 paved parking spaces. Within the confines of the outdoor swimming pool area (available for rental) is a grass deck and snack area containing restroom facilities. Highlands Recreation Area

225 S. Cannady, approximately 8.3 acres. This park offers a baseball/softball field and 2 soccer fields.

Kingswood Park

1528 Sharon Drive, approximately 12.5 acres. This neighborhood park offers a pavilion containing 3 picnic tables, 2 grills, a play structure for children 5 to 12 years old, a drinking fountain, a .3 mile paved trail and a .1 mile unpaved trail.

Lester Lorch Nature Preserve/ Disc Golf Course
