The Polish year of 1968 [Polski rok 1968] The phrase “March 1968” automatically brings to mind many connotations: student protests, the anti-Semitic witch-hunt, “commandoes”, attacks against intellectualists. ISBN 83-60464-02-2; Institute of National Remembrance, 2006, reimpression, B5 format, hardback, 811 pages, volume 22 of the series, price PLN 40.00

This is a critical study of 35 unknown documents. Code name: “Wasale”. The Office of Security towards Student Solidarity Associations 1977–1980 [Kryptonim „Wasale”. Służba Bezpieczeństwa wobec Studenckich Komitetów Solidarności 1977–1980]

NE

Selection, introduction and editing Łukasz Kamiński and Grzegorz Waligóra

The First Student Solidarity Association was established in the spring of 1977 in Krakow. This Association was a response to the murder of a student named Stanisław Pyjas, probably at the Office of Security’s suggestion. He was associated with KOR (Committee for the Protection of Workers). The other academic centres followed Krakow’s tracks. The Office of Security watched nascent students’ opposition trends rather closely as a part of exposing the operational case – code named “Wasale”. ISBN 978-83-60464-38-0; Institute of National Remembrance, 2007, A5 format, hardback, 520 pages, volume 18 of the series, price PLN 40.00

The organisation Fighting Solidarity was one of the largest anticommunist opposition groups after 13 December 1981. It came into existence as the result of a split in the Lower Silesian Regional Strike Committee. It expanded quickly throughout other Polish regions. The documents that are published in this volume constitute a selection of the survived Office of Security files concerning the exposure of the Fighting Solidarity. They depict the methods of the struggle with conspirators; describe the successes of local SB (the Office of Security) and its general defeat at the hands of Fighting Solidarity. ISBN 978-83-60464-39-7; Institute of National Remembrance, 2007, B5 format: hardback, 700 pages, volume 19 of the series, price PLN 45.00.
