As a company that manages a diverse portfolio, they needed a solution that was capable of managing multiple projects of varying size and market. SOLUTION: Procore’s cloud-based management solution provided TRITEC Building Company Inc. with a platform that had the capability to grow and manage multiple projects. In addition, the unlimited user licenses allowed field team members to access all projects without increasing costs.

TRITEC Building Company Inc. is a full service construction company based in New York. They spent decades using multiple point solutions that were no longer meeting their growing needs and did not provide a competitive edge. TRITEC started looking at software solutions in December of 2014 when they found Procore.

ELIMINATING STEPS Prior to Procore, team members at TRITEC were working within four different solutions to find all their project information. “We used iSqFt for drawings and drawing management, Basecamp for documents, Primavera Expedition (Primavera Contractor) for contracts and submittals, and Sage for accounting.” All of that information, with the exception of the Sage accounting data, is now within Procore and easily accessible for both office and field team members. TRITEC hopes to be fully integrated and using the Sage 300 CRE connector in early 2016. Ken Abrami, the Vice President of Operations on TRITEC Building Company Incorporated, explained that drawings and drawing management within Procore was the driving force to switch from their old solutions to the Procore platform. With Procore, team members are able to share drawings, mark them up, and re-share within minutes.

CONSTANTLY IMPROVING The biggest benefit of a cloud-based management solution is the ability to adapt and change instantly without needing to reinstall or download cumbersome software. TRITEC, who spent over two decades on Primavera’s software solution, has been pleasantly surprised with the amount of customization available in Procore. Ken says that this was a huge factor in making the switch; “Honestly, Primavera hadn’t changed much in the last 10 years. They’re not cloud driven so everything was residing on our software.” “The more feedback we provide Procore, the more willing they are to adapt, which has been great.” Ken expressed the need for a software that would give TRITEC a competitive edge. In an ever-evolving industry, the ability to change and adapt with a project is the distinguishing factor from one software to another.

EASY IMPLEMENTATION “It was impressive to be able to roll Procore out in such a short amount of time.” Chris Kelley, the Director of Marketing at TRITEC, and Ken started researching management solutions early in December 2014. By the end of the month they had started implementing Procore and began training their team. Now, one year into using Procore, Ken and Chris have all their field staff, subcontractors, and outside vendors using Procore. “The subcontractors immediately embraced the distribution and bidding process without any problems. We’ve even had some subs reach out and want to work from tProcore on their other projects; that’s how much they love it”.

SAVING TIME IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES After a brief and very successful implementation, Ken and Chris wanted to check in with their staff to make sure Procore was in fact a time-saving tool for them. Ken asked the field staff, administrative staff, project managers, and the bidding staff to quantify their time savings for each tool. They found that Procore saved up to 40% of their time.

MARKETING EFFECTIVELY Chris stressed the importance of a marketable tool in an industry that was lacking a comprehensive solution. “We wanted to be able to open up bidding on projects or put them on the website as a marketing tool for us, but we wanted to be able to manage which ones showed up and which ones didn’t. So that, coupled with a complete project management software platform led us to Procore. Being able to advertise things like a comprehensive mobile app and a cloud-based system, shows that we’re forward-thinking and gives us a competitive edge”.
