SHOW RULES GENERAL 1. All entries are subject to the General Rules and Regulations of Canadian Western Agribition. Please refer to these rules and read them carefully. 2. This show is sanctioned by the Canadian Meat Goat Association; therefore, CMGA rules will govern. 3. Purebred and Percentage entries must be registered with the CMGA and CLRC. 4. CMGA sanctions the following classes: Purebred Does, Percentage Does, Commercial Does, Purebred Bucks, and Market Kids. 5. Al registered animals, regardless of age, must have original registration papers at the show. No papers, no show. 6. Commercial animals must have a recorded ear tag. 7. Exhibitors are responsible for their own feed and bedding. 8. Barns open for arrival of goats at 12:00 PM, Friday, November 18, and all animals must be in the barns no later than 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 20. Release begins at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 22, and must be out by 8:00 AM, Wednesday, November 23. Should an exhibitor encounter problems in transit, contact the CWA office at 306-565-0565 to notify. ENTRIES 1. Entry fee is $35.00/entry. Entries close October 1, 2016. GST payable on al fees. 2. All animals entered/shown in Special Group Classes must be entered in the individual classes of their respected division. 3. Substitutions are allowed, however, a fee of $20.00/substitution, plus GST, will apply. Only one substitution per exhibitor per class will be allowed. 4. Exhibitors wishing to substitute must inform the Show Chairman immediately upon arrival. 5. All substitutions must be made by 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 20. No late substitutions. TATTOOS 1. Purebred and Percentage animals must have legible tattoos. 2. Animals with unhealed tattoos may be disqualified and may not be allowed to show (show committee’s discretion). 3. Illegible tattoos or tattoos not corresponding exactly to the information on the registration papers will result in disqualification and the animal will not be allowed to show.

HEALTH CHECK 1. All animals will be inspected by a veterinarian and/or committee of three CMGA members in good standing for signs of parasites, disease, and infectious or contagious conditions. It is at the discretion of the committee to disqualify any animal with health faults. 2. Animals not passing inspection must, if deemed necessary by the veterinarian and/or committee, be removed from the premises. 3. Owners/exhibitors must be present during the vet check. GRIEVANCE PROCESS 1. Any complaints must be made in writing and sent by 10:00 AM the day after the protest to the CMGA, the SGBA, and the Show Committee. A copy with a $100.00 deposit may be sent to CWA, where they will investigate. 2. Interrupting a show to complain is not acceptable. 3. Corrections can be made, if needed, after the show. Yearling Doe, having kidded, born December 1, 2014 – November 30, 2015. 7. Doe, two years old, must have kidded in current year, born December 1, 2013 – November 30, 2014. 8. Doe, three years old and over, must have kidded in current year, born before November 30, 2013. 9. Senior Champion Purebred Doe: Chosen from all first place does in Classes 6 – 8. Reserve Champion shall be chosen from the remaining first place does, plus the animal which stood second to the Senior Champion in its individual age class. 10. Grand Champion Purebred Doe: Chosen from Junior and Senior Champions. The Reserve Grand Champion Purebred Doe shall be chosen from the remaining Champion and the animal which stood next to the Grand Champion in its individual age class. The following classes are meant to give exhibitors a chance to learn more about their breeding program. The animals are judged by improvement in the next generation, consistency in quality of conformation, and type. Points for Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder are not awarded. AWARDS Rookie of the Year: This is awarded to the first time exhibitor who has the most points based on number of animals shown, placement in classes, showmanship, and sportsmanship. Award Supplied By: TBD Herdsman Award: This award is to be presented to the exhibitor who best demonstrates the following: a. Courtesy to other exhibitors and general public. b. Attitude and mannerisms during the exhibition. c. Participation in the cleanliness of the barn, aisles, tack areas, and other areas used. d. Care of animals in and out of the show ring. e. Demonstration of qualities that represent a positive image of the goat industry. f. Demonstration of good sportsmanship. Award Supplied By: TBD Premier Breeder: This award is presented to the breeder with the highest number of points awarded to animals raised by that exhibitor, but not necessarily owned by that exhibitor. Points are as follows: 1st Place – 6 points; 2nd Place – 5 points; 3rd Place – 4 points; 4th Place – 3 points; 5th Place – 2 points; 6th Place – 1 point.
