Pre-Registration All troops are encouraged to take advantage of our merit badge pre-registration system. Pre-registration producers can be found on the main Goshen website.
Prerequisites Due to infeasibility of some requirements to be completed at camp, we are unable to offer full completion of some merit badges. Scouts are encouraged to meet prerequisites in advance in order to receive a completion of these badges. If a Scout arrives without physical verification (completed project, written verification from counselor or unit Leader) that he has completed a requirement listed on the prerequisite sheet then he will receive a partial. Please be sure to consult the prerequisite list before enrolling in a class to ensure the highest rate of merit badge completion for your Scouts.
Activity Hour Following lunch, Olmsted will be offering different competitive activities each day before returning to merit badge program. Scores will kept based on participation and points earned during the events will contribute to our Olmsted Troop of the Week. The overall winner of our Activity Hour will be recognized during Friday’s Camp Fire! Show your troop’s pride and get ready to compete. All activities began at 1:45 near the Admin building. An Activity Hour schedule will be provided to you when arrive at camp. During this hour, program areas will be open allowing Scouts additional time to work on merit badges.
Blue Cards For Scouts to receive a merit badge they must provide our instructors with Blue Cards. This will be your troop’s documentation that Scouts have completed or receive a partial from all of badges worked on while at Olmsted. Blue Cards will be given back to troops at the end of the week during our Merit Badge Reconciliation. Troops are responsible for provide their own Blue Cards. Blue Cards can be purchased in our Trading Post and in any official BSA Supply Store.
