ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FOR ORAL COMMUNICATIONS AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS Deadline: 1 October 2013 ORAL COMMUNICATIONS Authors are invited to submit abstracts, classified by topics. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Local Organising Committee and chosen for oral presentations of 10-15 minutes.

POSTERS Authors are invited to present their new research findings or important ongoing research as posters related to one of the 38 given topics. Please see page 5 for a list of abstract topics.

E-POSTERS Outstanding posters will be chosen to be presented as e-Posters, as an oral presentation of 4-5 minutes or featured in a Poster Walk. To learn more about e-Posters, please visit the Congress website.

Abstract Submission Abstracts must be submitted via the website: www.epa-congress.org. The Congress secretariat is not able to accept abstracts submitted via email or fax. Please note that each person may submit up to 5 abstracts as a presenting author. Please follow the instructions listed on the website step-by-step and take into account the following: • Abstracts may be submitted for Oral or Poster Presentation. • Abstract text is limited to 250 words, including acknowledgements. • Abstracts must be submitted in English. • Images, diagrams, and graphs must be saved and uploaded in JPG, PNG or GIF format only. Please note that these may be resized to fit in the final printed material. • Abstracts must be original and must not be or have been published or presented at any other meeting prior to the Congress. • Abstracts must be received by the announced deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered. • Submission of the abstract constitutes the authors’ consent to publication (e.g. European Psychiatry, Congress website, Congress Programmes, other promotion, etc.) • Presenting authors of abstracts must be registered participants. • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission to the Secretariat. • Abstracts stating “data will be discussed in the presentation” will NOT be accepted. - 3-

Only abstracts of presenting authors who have registered and paid their registration fees by 14 January 2014 will be published in the Congress Final Programme and in an electronic supplement of EUROPEAN PSYCHIATRY, the official Journal of the European Psychiatric Association published by Elsevier. All notifications regarding the abstract status (including notification regarding acceptance) and scheduling will be sent to the corresponding (presenting) author. The corresponding author is responsible for informing the other authors about the status of the abstract.

TRAVEL GRANTS EPA will offer 30 Travel Grants to eligible abstract submitters. Priority will be given to those applicants belonging to a National Psychiatric Association that is a member of EPA’s Council of NPAs.   The eligibility criteria and application details are available at www.epa-congress.org.

EPA RESEARCH PRIZES Up to five research prizes of €2,500 will be awarded to young psychiatrists working in Europe, who have published the best scientific papers in 2013. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME The EPA Scholarship programme for Early Career Psychiatrists and Trainees will provide special grants (travel assistance, hotel accommodation for 4 nights, waived congress registration, complimentary registration for 1 EPA Academia Educational Course, 1 year free EPA membership). BEST POSTER PRIZES Up to ten Poster Prizes of €300 each will be allocated by the poster award jury. The names of the Poster Prize winner will be published on the Congress website.
