ACCESS TO YOUR

Dining Hall 1

Present your student ID to the checker on duty to verify your meal plan and receive access to the Dining Hall. ID Cards cannot be shared with other students.

You may bring a guest to the dining room and pay by cash, Beach Bucks, or Dining Dollars. *Prices: 1. Breakfast - $6.50 2. Lunch - $8.00 3. Dinner - $10.00 4. Brunch - $8.00

If you lose your ID card, you must get a replacement in order to obtain access to the Dining Hall. The ID Card Services Office (562.985.7388) is located inside the University Bookstore. The fee is $5.00. If the ID card office is closed, you can obtain a Lost Card Authorization form from the Dining Hall Supervisor. If you agree to the conditions, the manager on duty will approve it and you can use it as your ID to access the Dining Hall. Paying cash at the guest rate price is another option.

You must wear shoes and a shirt and pants at all times in the Dining Hall. Bathing suits are not allowed in the Dining Halls.

California Department of Health prohibits residents to bring food, mugs, cups, sport bottles or containers of any kind into the Dining Hall for sanitary and health reasons.

Sick trays can be ordered for students who are not feeling well and are unable to attend a meal. You must obtain a sick tray request form from your Hall Office and submit the form with ID card to the manager on duty.

This is an “All You Care To Eat” meal program and you may eat as much as you like with the exception of steak. Please do not be wasteful. Please use a clean plate every time you get your food. All food must be consumed in the dining room, with the exception of one take-out item, which can be a fruit, a cookie or an ice cream.

You are permitted one entry per meal. If you wish to reenter the Dining Hall, you may do so by paying as a guest.

We ask that you pick up after yourself. Bussing your own dishes to the dish return is required. Your courtesy will be much appreciated.

Backpacks and large bags are not allowed in the Dining Halls. A rack is provided at the entrance. Dining Services will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please do not bring anything of value to the dining hall.

Convenience Stores Are you hungry but don’t know where to go? Need a cold drink or a snack? Panicking because you didn’t buy a scantron? Well there is no more need to worry. There are now convenience stores in the Parkside and Hillside Residential Halls! That’s right, no more trips off campus for those late night cravings. Both the Ground Floor and Central Park convenience stores offer a wide variety of snacks and drinks to satisfy all your needs Trying to stay healthy? We offer a selection of sandwiches, salads and fruit. We also have school supplies and personal care items. And as always we serve Starbucks coffee and have lots of comfortable seating. Can’t wait to see you there!

GREEN BEACH TO-GO PROGRAM

All residential dining facilities offer a Green To-Go Box for students who are short on time or do not wish to eat in the dining hall. 1. Pick up your first (FREE) Green To-Go Box Token at the check-in station on move-in day. 2. You may begin to use the program immediately after you receive your box. How it works: 1. Bring your Green To-Go Box to any of the residential dining halls, fill up with food, and go on your way. 2. When finished, bring your empty, rinsed Green To-Go Box back to the bin at the Residential cashier stand and receive a clean one in return. 3. If you choose to turn in your Green To-Go Box but do not want a meal to-go, we will give you a token to redeem a box at your next visit. 4. Repeat, over and over!! 5. Take out your food-guilt-free-and enjoy!

MEALS TO-GO

If you are unable to make it to a meal during serving hours, you may prepare a meal to-go. The checker will deduct a meal swipe and you will use the Green To-Go box. Only one to-go box per meal period.

Dining Menu Our 5-Week Cycle menu offers a great variety of options and combinations. They also offer vegetarian and/or vegan entrees. In addition to the cycle menus you will find a list of items that are included in your menu every day. See 5 week cycle menu online at www.ShoptheBeach.com

Meal Plans 10 Meal Plan (Value Plan) This plan allows 10 meals per week at any residential dining facility. Residence hall students may enter Parkside, Hillside, or Beachside once per meal period and eat as much as they want to eat. Plan can only be accessed by meal plan holder. Unused meals are not refundable. 19 Meal Plan (Traditional Meal Plan) This plan allows 19 meals per week at any residential dining facility. Residence hall students may enter Parkside, Hillside, or Beachside once per meal period and eat as much as they want to eat. Plan can only be accessed by meal plan holder. Unused meals are not refundable. 49er Balance Meal Plan This plan allows maximum flexibility in the residential dining halls, residential convenience stores and Forty-Niner Shop’s retail dining locations and convenience stores on campus. This plan provides Dining Dollars each semester on the student’s Beach Club Card/CSULB ID Card. Dining Dollars can be applied towards: • Meals in any of the residential dining facilities (Parkside, Hillside, or Beachside) at the guest meal rate (currently $6.50 for breakfast, $8 for lunch, $10 for dinner, $8 for brunch). The meal plan holder may bring up to three guests in the residential dining facilities by paying guest meal rates for them. • Food at any of the Forty-Niner Shops retail dining locations and convenience stores, charged at the regular retail value. For a complete list of locations visit www.beachid.com. There is a maximum transaction limit of $75.00 per day. Any unused balance, after the conclusion of the spring semester, is not refundable. Seven Day All Access This plan allows unlimited meals at the any residential dining facility (Parkside, Hillside, or Beachside) during their posted operating hours. Plan can only be accessed by meal plan holder.

Environmental Statement The Forty-Niner Shops are committed to doing our part in protecting our Enviornment. While you dine with us, please help us reduce waste by only taking what you can eat and only take the utensils and napkins that you will use. We do our part by supporting initiatives that preserve our Earth’s limited resources and we are continually researching and trying new products that support our commitment to the enviornment.

Diners’ Club All students in Residence Halls are invited to join Our Diners’ Club. Neither membership nor dues are required. This club is a commitee of student volunteers representing their residential locations. We meet every twice a semester at the Dining Hall on the main campus to discuss food service experiences and food offerings. Students have the opportunity to give feedback, suggestions, concerns, and success stories. Club members also learn more about food service operations, including interactive presentations and fun food tasting events! Get involved and represent your fellow residents. If you are interested in joining us or have an immediate concern or suggestion for the Diners’ Club, please do not hesitate to contact your Dining Hall Manager.
