Organic (local) products

Since September 2013, the hotel has the pleasure of owning its own bee colony. We collect honey for the house during springtime and summertime in a beehive on the roof. The honey is used in a variety of our dishes. This initiative ties in with the hotel’s Golden Green Key status. This state represents the extent to which to corporate social responsibility is done.

Hoeve de Groenzoom is a family farm with 600 cattle located in Berkel en Rodenrijs in the Groene Hart (Green Belt). The cattle are mostly of the Maas, Rijn, IJssel (MRIJ) breed. There is a lot more to modern, sustainable farming these days than just the right nutritions for cattle. A responsible product with respect for both animal and environment is important as well. Cattle that are reared with respect for animal welfare and the environment. Without any concessions being made in terms of quality or flavour. The cows are allowed to walk around during the summer and are kept in spacious stalls in the winter. The pedicurist is a frequent visitor and massage brushes can be found all around the stalls

The MSC certification programme and mark of quality supports sustainable fishing. MSC is a worldwide organisation that works together with fishermen, the fish processing industry, scientists, environmental organisations and the consumer to promote the sustainable catching and consumption of fish and fish products.

Surprise menu

Every day our kitchen team devises a new surprise menu that introduces our guests to their favourite ingredients.You may choose the number of courses you wish to be served. The menu is wide-ranging and consists of a selection of (organic) products mostly of local origin. We will be glad to explain today’s menu to you if you wish.
