ACCA (part-time) City Campus, Newport Application, enrolment and induction information (new and returning students) Dear Student Please see below information on:  How you should apply to join the course (or re-apply if you have studied with us previously but have taken a break in studies)  How you should enrol (or re-enrol if you are a current student)  When you should attend City Campus, Newport for induction and first teaching, depending on year of study  Directions to City Campus, Newport

Please note that induction and first tuition for ACCA Years 1 and 4 will take place in w/c 8th September 2014*. Induction and first tuition for ACCA Years 2 and 3 will take place in w/c 15th September 2014. * This is an alteration to previously published information; these years will not start in w/c 1st September due to the disruption that is expected to be caused by the NATO Summit.

Applications & enrolment (all online): Note that on-line enrolment should ideally be completed at least a week before commencement/recommencement of studies. Procedures for existing students (who have studied ACCA at USW during Sept 2013-June 2014):  You do not need to apply to re-join the course as you are a current student. th  From 26 August you will be able to re-enrol online for the next year of your studies. Please visit the student intranet (which should become ‘UniLife’ over the summer) for details on how to re-enrol.  If your employer will be paying your fees, you should ensure that you provide full details when you enrol so that we can send an invoice to the correct person and place.  You should ensure that you undertake the on-line re-enrolment process in plenty of time before tuition starts – ideally, at least one week before the commencement of your studies (for timings see below).  Please bring your existing USW student ID card when you return to gain access to the building. You should check whether your card needs reactivating with Main Reception.

Procedures for new students joining the ACCA course:  If you are a NEW student you should register and apply online to join the course as soon as possible. To do this, please follow this link: http://myfuture.southwales.ac.uk/users/sign_in  When applying, you should select the year of the ACCA course that is most relevant to you. However, if you need to study papers across a number of years then please state this on your application form.  Please note that you will need to submit a short personal statement as part of your application and you will be required to either attach references or provide details of referees. We can only approve your application once references have been obtained, so we would be grateful if you could ensure that you include these with your application or that named referees can provide these as quickly as possible. If providing referee contact details, we require at least a name and a work contact e-mail address (a personal e-mail address will not be accepted).  Once your application has been submitted it will be reviewed by the Enquiries & Admissions Unit. If you are made an offer you will receive an offer email with instructions on how to accept. We would encourage you to accept your offer as soon as possible.  Following acceptance of offer, from the beginning of August 2014 Enquiries & Admissions will send you (by letter and e-mail) details of how to enrol online. You should ensure that you undertake this process in plenty of time before tuition starts – ideally, at least one week before the commencement of your studies (for timings see below).  Once you have enrolled online you will be able to view first week induction and timetable information.  If your employer will be paying your fees, you should ensure that you provide full details when you apply and enrol so that we can send an invoice to the correct person and place.  When you attend City Campus for induction and first teaching, you will need to obtain an ID card that will allow you to gain access to the upper floors of City Campus. Please report to Main Reception when you first arrive for more information.  Please note that you will need to provide your year tutor at induction with evidence that you have registered with ACCA as a student member and details of any exemptions awarded by ACCA. It is your responsibility to register with ACCA and you should register in plenty of time so that you have your paperwork through by the time of induction.

Procedures for students returning to the ACCA course following a break in studies:  If you have studied ACCA at USW (or University of Wales, Newport) previously, but have taken a break (meaning that you have not been a current student between September 2013-June 2014), you will need to register and apply online to re-join the course as soon as possible. If you are one of these students you should:  Register and apply online to join the course as soon as possible.
