RARITIES 25ml/50ml Hanyu / The Joker / 57.7% (Japan) £40.00/76.00 the Ichiro's Malt Card series bottlings from the closed Hanyu distillery. This is a vatting of six vintages (1985, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1991 and 2000) from a total of seven types of cask (chibidaru, bourbon, Madeira, hogshead, Cognac, puncheon and sherry butt). Hanyu 2000 / Cask #921 / 57.6% / (Japan) £40.00/76.00 A Hanyu from the distillery's final vintage: 2000. Shortly after producing this spirit, it closed and it is only thanks to former distillery manager Ichiro Akuto that these whiskies have seen the light of day. This is a masterpiece of wood management, combining layers of oak and woody spice with delicate fruitiness. Karuizawa 1981 / Bot.2014 / 63.4% / (Japan) £55.00/100.00 Whiskies from Karuizawa are some of the most sought after in the world. Not only has the distillery closed, but its heavily sherried drams have a reputation for excellence that has only grown over the past few years. This 1981 sherry-cask-matured dram was previewed at The Whisky Show 2014, where it went down a storm. Karuizawa spirit of Asama / 48% (Japan) £50.00/95.00 An exclusive release bottling of Karuizawa for TWE (The Whisky Exchange), part of a vatting of 77 European sherry casks. The casks used for this Spirit of Asam were filled in 1999 & 2000 and was bottled in 2012. Karuizawa spirit of Asama / 55% (Japan) £50.00/95.00 An exclusive release bottling of Karuizawa for TWE (The Whisky Exchange), part of a vatting of 77 European sherry casks. AnCnoc 16 yo / 46% - Bourbon cask (Highlands) £7.50/14.50 The AnCnoc 16 year old has been matured in American bourbon barrels for 16 years giving it layers of complex subtle flavours. The palate is light and zesty with a hint of spice warming up to sticky toffee. Bunnahabhain 16 yo / 55.6% (Island)

£9.00/17.50

A 16 year old Bunnahabhain released for The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show 2014. A peated whisky, unlike the distillery’s regular releases, with a rich and earthy character and a healthy kick of smoke. Clynelish 1995 / 56.2% - Sherry cask (Highlands) £9.00/17.50 A well-balanced Clynelish, with the classic waxy spirit character bolstered but not hidden by sherry cask spiciness. Edradour 2000 / 57.1% Sherry cask (Highlands) £8.50/15.50 Edradour's series of Natural Cask Strength bottlings continue to prove popular. This was distilled on 9 May 2000, and was aged in a sherry cask for 14 years, yielding 690 bottles on 10 November 2014. Glenfarclas 15 yo / 58.6 % - Sherry cask (Speyside) £9.00/17.50 Dark, sherried 15 year old malt from one of the best distilleries in Speyside. Aged for a little bit longer and bottled a little stronger for a more concentrated, richer flavour. a must for lovers of sherried whisky. Glenfarclas 25 yo / 42.4% Quarter Cask (Speyside) £25.00/45.00 Glenfarclas combined ten of their last remaining quarter casks, the youngest of which was 25 years old, to produce this bottling. The whisky has spent all of its life in quarter casks and therefore gives greater wood contact and thus even more complexity and richness than the core 25 year old bottling. Glenglassaugh 30 yo / 44.8% (Highland) £25.00/48.00 Glenglassaugh 30 year old is a marriage of the finest casks that can be found in the distilleries coastal warehouses. This whisky is rich and complex, full of the distinctive Glenglassaugh character. Longmorn 1992 / 51.4% - Hogshead cask (Speyside) £9.50/18.00 A 1992 vintage Longmorn bottled by Signatory as part of the Cask Strength Collection, exclusively for TWE. Longmorn has long been a favourite distillery here at The Whisky Exchange and we felt that this cask showed why we love the distillery so much. Port Askaig 19 yo / 50.4% (Island) £9.50/18.00 This is a cask-strength edition of the wonderful Port Askaig 19 Year Old, bursting with fabulously flinty, lemony, seashellson-the-seashore flavours. Although the alcoholic strength has only gone up by around 4%, the result is a noticeable jump in intensity.

Balblair 1997 / 2nd Release / 46% (Highland) £8.00/15.00 Sweet, a little earthen quality with a fruity robustness. More vanilla, but now creamier, and gently infused with the oak. Glendronach 15yo / 46%/ Sherry cask (Highland) £6.50/12.00 Revival is a rich and intensely flavoured whisky, showcasing the heavily sherried style that Glendronach is well-known for. Balblair 1991 / 20yo / Private Collection / 2000 btls /45% (Highland) £9.50/17.50 A 1991 vintage Balblair which has been finished in casks which previously held Crozes-Hermitage Wine. The Balblair has been aged for just over 17 years before being transferred for its final 40 months of maturation. This period of maturation has added a fruity side to the whisky without dulling its original peppery nature. Tomatin 30 yo / 46% / (Highland) £24.00/45.00 The replacement for the 25 year old in the standard Tomatin lineup, the 30 year old is limited to just 2000 bottles a year. An outstanding whisky, with beautiful honeysuckle, herby, leafy notes, and some polished oak; this is a dram that wears its great age very lightly.
