Monash University is ranked within the world’s top 100 universities with campuses in Australia, Malaysia and South Africa. Established in Melbourne, Australia, more than 50 years ago, Monash was the first foreign university to establish a campus in Malaysia. Being a full-fledged campus of Monash University, it is situated in Greater Kuala Lumpur and approximately 20 kilometers from the city center. With over 6,500 students from over 80 countries, the campus offers a world-class education and research platforms in a culturally diverse environment. The seven Schools of Monash University Malaysia offer a comprehensive range of courses from bachelor to doctoral level that are taught by highly qualified academic staff from across the world. The same rigorous standards are applied at the campus as at other Monash campuses. In addition to a vibrant campus experience with world-class facilities, food outlets, gymnasium and outdoor swimming pool, the Sunway township in which the campus is situated offers numerous shopping and leisure opportunities within walking distance. The campus is an exciting place to study due to its unique position to offer the very best in higher education that is possible within Malaysia and the Southeast Asia region.

Study Abroad Opportunities at Monash University Malaysia The Malaysia campus welcomes more than 200 study abroad students annually into its community which includes students from Monash campuses in Australia and South Africa. Exchange and Study Abroad students are welcomed to the Malaysia campus for up to two semesters or even pursue a summer school program. The campus offers an opportunity to explore and learn from a localised Southeast Asian perspective. Credit bearing units available to study abroad students include those that are focused on social issues, research and specialised business areas unique to this region:

n Malaysian Studies (School of Arts and Social Sciences): Learn more about the Malaysian history, socio-economy, politics and culture. n Transformation in Southeast Asia (School of Arts and Social Sciences): Gain insight into the social and political issues of the Southeast Asian region. n Business in Asia (School of Business): Investigate recent economic developments of selected Asian countries including the 1997 Asian financial crisis. n Islamic Banking and Finance (School of Business): Learn from lecturers and researchers who are key opinion leaders in this field. n Tropical Biology (School of Science): Gain access to the most diverse rainforests in the world situated in Borneo or turtle conservation sites at Perhentian Island. The non-credit bearing Intercultural Enrichment Program or Malay Language course is also available to language and cultural enthusiasts who wish to broaden their horizons and learn a new language.

Bandar Sunway Monash University Malaysia is situated in Bandar Sunway, a bustling township that offers a safe, secure and friendly student environment. Bandar Sunway has gained the reputation as the State of Selangor’s higher education hub, with several universities and private colleges situated within the area. The student-friendly environment within the township offers modern facilities, various types of accommodation, sport and recreation facilities, and food for all tastes. Students have easy access to the Sunway township and its shopping malls, restaurants, banks, hotels, hospital and theme park.
