Welcome to Black Angus “Home of the Hot Rock/ Stone Grill”

In compiling our new wine menu we have taken advice from many sources and evaluated many different wines with the sole aim in creating a comprehensive and exceptional wine list from different regions of Australia and the world. The following wines have been selected as they represent the best value and quality for their respective regions. We invite you to take the opportunity to sample our wines by the glass, and if the selected wine does not meet with your expectation, We are happy to replace it with another one of your choice. All our vintage wines are stored in special wine fridges at 18 degree Celsius to preserve their quality and wines by the glass are preserved under inert gas. We also look forward to your feedback so we can continuously improve our wine lists.

Please enjoy our wine selection Owner & Director Nick Hagop

The region is known internationally for its long tradition of winemaking, and more recently the enormously popular Beaujolais Nouveau. Burgundy Region: normally light to medium bodied red wine, the famous wines produced where-those commonly referred to as Burgundies-are red wines made from a pinot noir grapes. Bordeaux (West Region): predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, generally more powerful and long ageing. (Haut Medoc, Pauillac, Margaux, Saint Julien Saint Estephe and Chateau Haut Brion and Graves. Bordeaux (Eastern Region): predominantly Merlot blends, generally softer and more approachable when young. Eg. Pomerol (where Petrus is made) and St. Emilion. Rhône (Southern): the rock-stewn of Southern Rhone is wider and warmer (one of the hottest areas in France) and produces both light and assertive wines blended from thirteen permitted varieties. Most red wine here is based on fruity Grenache and blended with Syrah, Mouvedre, Cinsault. Rhône (Northern): the region is renowned for it Syrah, which is easily identified by spicy pepper and sturdy fruit flavours. Some of the best known northern Rhône's are the Hermitage wines.

are the same type of grape, which is a clone of the pinot noir grape. "Pinot" means

"pinecone" in French and "gris" means "grey." These words describe the plump, cone-shaped, grayish-blue grape clusters from this branch of the Vitis vinifera family. The cloned grapes, however, can vary in color from silver-blue to ash-yellow. In terms of wine flavor they range from citrus to honey to smoky. Generally, the wine colors are pale to golden yellow.

Shiraz Blends

most wines whether white or red are blended with one thing in mind; balance. As with all things, flavour, acidity and texture should be in harmony with one another. If any one thing starts to dominate a wine then it can become one dimensional and lose its appeal very quickly. The Wines are always labeled so that the highest percentage grape in the blend is listed first and then so on.
