BREVARD COLLEGE WORK-STUDY PROGRAM JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Provided by the Financial Aid Office

Rev 08/09

Welcome to the Brevard College Work-Study program! The information in this booklet will help you find areas in which you might want to interview. A packet of information and paperwork will be in your campus post office box when you arrive on campus in August to include a Work-Study Contract, Work-Study Handbook, interviewing tips, a class/work schedule, a Disciplinary Notice form, a Work-Study Decline form and a Release/Transfer form. You should read through all of this information so that you understand how the program works and your responsibilities. Take all necessary paperwork with you to the interview – in case you are hired at the interview! However, some supervisors may choose to wait until the end of their scheduled interviews to decide upon their employees. If that is the case, they will contact you and arrange a time to come in to complete all of the paperwork. If you choose not to work, please sign the Decline Form in your packet and bring it to the Financial Aid Office on the first floor of Beam Administration Building as soon as possible. If you begin working and feel you cannot continue for any reason, please go to your supervisor and follow the proper procedure for release from your work-study position. Please do not decide to just not show up! This will impact your ability to work in the program in the future. If at any time you have any questions or concerns about the Work-Study Program, please come by the Financial Aid Office. We will be happy to answer questions or help solve any problems you may run into. *As you look at the job listings you may click the link to the supervisor to arrange an interview. We ask that you please complete your interviews within the first two weeks of the term. Please be aware that some faculty and staff members may not be on campus during breaks from the regular term and may take time to respond to your email.

The Work-Study Coordinator is Jean Martin 884-8245.
