Induction hobs

Automatic pan recognition

Quick and responsive

The induction hob provides the most efficient method of cooking, this is because with induction cooking, a magnetic field instantly transforms your pan into the heat source. The coil beneath the ceramic glass does not heat up during this process which means all of the energy is transmitted to the base of the pan only. Therefore the pan heats only the food, not the hob. BLANCO induction hobs eliminate hot spots due to its all heat cooking zones meaning that the whole base of the pan is evenly heated.

The induction hob heating zone will automatically heat up as soon as it senses a pan with a smooth, flat base, suitable diameter and suitable metal content. This ensures that the hob will not heat up if smaller items such as metal spoons are accidentally left on the induction zones. The way to tell if a saucepan is induction hob friendly is to hold a magnet to the bottom, if it is magnetic it is ideal to use.

The speed of induction cooking is one of its major benefits. Contents in the pan will heat up extremely quickly and the heat element is very easy to control thanks to 14 different power levels for absolute precision. The power level can be turned up or down with an immediate effect on the contents of the pan just like gas but without any of the drawbacks.

With induction hobs only the base of the pan and the contents are heated. The ceramic glass remains much cooler than traditional ceramic or gas hobs. This means there is little residual heat left over once cooking is finished making induction hobs much safer. All of our BLANCO hobs have a built in safety feature of a child lock as well as residual heat indicator. This means the a red light will stay on until the residual heat is gone. This function can also be set to avoid accidentally switching on the hob.

Induction hobs are extremely energy efficient as they only heat up the base of the pan and its contents saving you money on your electricity bills. The efficiency of energy transfer for an induction cooker is 84%, versus approximately 40% when cooking with gas. This means when cooking with induction you typically use half the energy of gas yet your food will heat up twice as fast.

Cleaning an induction hob could not be easier. There are no parts to remove or difficult nooks and crannies to try and negotiate with a cloth. Just a flat, non-porous surface which you can wipe over quickly. As it is the pan not the glass that is the heating element any drips or spillages that fall on the hob will not burn onto the surface.
