Baylor

Lady Bears

Buffaloes

Baylor will play for its second Big 12 championship when it hosts Oklahoma State on Thursday. The Lady Bears can clinch at least a tie for the title with a victory over OSU. BU claimed its first Big 12 regular season championship in 2005. The Lady Bears have won 17 straight home games, the nation’s fifth-longest home win streak. Angela Tisdale, a 5-7 guard who, when the week began averaged 15.0 points a game, averaged 27.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in Baylor’s two games last week. The senior, playing at both the point and two guard positions, played 40 minutes of both games and shot 82.8 percent (24-29) from the free throw line. Sophomore Danielle Wilson rejected six shots at Texas A&M on Saturday and now shares Baylor’s career blocked shots record with Steffanie Blackmon (2002-05) at 159. The mark moves her into No. 6 on the Big 12’s career blocks list.

Colorado tied a season-low with just two 3-point field goals at Nebraska, but the pair was enough to tie the school single-season record for 3-point field goals. The Buffs have 196, tying the output of the 2001-02 team. Senior Jackie McFarland scored CU’s first two points of the Nebraska game and in the process became the third player in team history to reach 1,800 points. She enters the Missouri game with 1,811. She had four rebounds against the Huskers to increase her career total to 990, just 10 shy of becoming the third player in team history with 1,000. McFarland is just nine points away from becoming the first player in CU history to score 500 points in three different seasons. Freshman Brittany Spears is averaging 14.8 points and 10.8 rebounds over the last five games. Colorado needs a win over Missouri to guarantee an above .500 record for the season. The Buffaloes 15 wins are their most since 2003-04.

Iowa State

Kansas

Cyclones

Jayhawks

Iowa State wrapped up its home slate with a 13-4 record this season. The Cyclones will travel to Nebraska on Wednesday to wrap up the regular season. In 17 home games, Iowa State averaged 9,388 fans to rank fifth nationally. The Cyclones’ crowd of 11,824 against Kansas ranks 20th on ISU’s all-time attendance chart. Junior Jocelyn Anderson rewrote the Iowa State single season record for blocked shots against Kansas on Saturday. Anderson has rejected 63 field goal attempts this season, knocking off Nicky Wieben’s single-season record of 62, which she set last season. Anderson also holds the junior class record for blocked shots and ranks ninth on Iowa State’s career list. Sophomore Alison Lacey is Iowa State’s leading scorer with 14.5 points per game, hitting 40.4 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from threepoint range. Lacey has been in double figures in 21 games and has led the Cyclones in scoring in 13 and assists in 14. She is averaging four assists per game to just 2.4 turnovers in her first season running the point for ISU.

Senior forward Taylor McIntosh had a career day in Kansas’ match-up with Iowa State. She pulled down a career-best 16 rebounds to go along with her team-leading 15 points. She also had a team-high three steals and one block. McIntosh made 6-of-8 shots from the field and added 3-of-6 baskets from the foul line. She collected eight of her 16 rebounds on the offensive end, helping the Jayhawks grab 17 for the game. McIntosh’s double-double was her fourth of the season and eighth of her career. Sophomore guard-forward Danielle McCray also recorded a doubledouble on the week as she had 19 points and 10 boards versus Texas. It marked McCray’s sixth double-double of the season and her fifth during Big 12 play. Sophomore guard LaChelda Jacobs had a solid week off the bench for KU. Jacobs posted eight points off of a perfect 4-for-4 shooting night versus Texas. She followed it up with a nine-point, four-rebound performance at Iowa State.

Kansas State

Missouri

Wildcats

Tigers

Kansas State’s Shalee Lehning helped the Wildcats move back into a tie for first place in the Big 12 Conference standings with two victories over Nebraska and Missouri. Lehning tallied a pair of double-doubles and averaged 16.0 points on a .706 field goal percentage (12-of-17), 9.0 assists, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and a 2.25 assist/turnover ratio in 64 total minutes of action.

Missouri will travel to Boulder, Colo., in the regular season finale for a game against Colorado on Wednesday.

In Wednesday’s 69-65 win over Nebraska, Lehning registered her 10th career double-double with 11 points and a career-high tying 12 assists. She sank the game-clinching basket with 21 seconds remaining. With the 12 assists, Lehning set the school record for assists by a junior and now has 182 for the season.

With 180 3-pointers this season, Missouri is just 12 threes shy of tying the team single-season record of 192. The Tigers, who make 6.4 3-point field goals per game, have averaged 7.8 threes the past four contests.

During Saturday’s home finale, Lehning tallied a career high-tying 21 points on a perfect 7-of-7 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. She also recorded 11 rebounds for her 11th career double-double to go with six assists and three steals. With the three steals, Lehning moved into eighth place in school history with 178 for her career.

Junior Alyssa Hollins doubled her previous career high with four blocks to go along with a team high 15 points at Kansas State on March 1.

Hollins made nine 3-pointers last week to increase her career and singleseason records to 157 and 81, respectively.

Nebraska

Oklahoma

Huskers

Sooners

Nebraska improved to 19-10 overall and 8-7 in the Big 12 with a 63-55 win over Colorado in Lincoln on Sunday. The Huskers will try to complete their third sweep of a Big 12 North Division opponent on Wednesday when they close the regular season against Iowa State in Lincoln. NU won the first meeting, 82-72, snapping a decade-long losing streak at Hilton Coliseum. Nebraska owns a four-game winning streak over the Cyclones at the Devaney Center. Kelsey Griffin matched her season high with 26 points in the win over Colorado. She added 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season, including her fifth in league action. Over the past nine games, Griffin is averaging 20 points and nine rebounds per game. She is nearing Nebraska’s top-10 career lists in both scoring and rebounding, while climbing to eighth on NU’s career blocked shots list. Nebraska secured its fourth consecutive .500 or better finish in Big 12 Conference play. With 19 wins this season, the Huskers have posted 18 or more victories overall in five consecutive seasons, matching the longest stretch in school history.

No. 10 Oklahoma (21-6, 11-4 Big 12) split its two contests last week, winning at Texas Tech and losing to Texas. The Sooners rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit in Lubbock, Texas, to pick up their fourth come-from-behind victory of the season against the Lady Raiders, 65-55. Courtney Paris had 19 points and 22 rebounds, including 12 points and 18 rebounds in the second half to lead Oklahoma. Oklahoma then fell to Texas, 65-50, in its home finale Sunday, March 2, in front of its third consecutive home sellout crowd. Paris scored 17 and had 15 rebounds for her 88th consecutive double-double. OU faces Texas A&M in College Station Thursday in its last regular season game before heading to the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.

Oklahoma State

Texas

Cowgirls

Longhorns

Oklahoma State closed out its home schedule by splitting a pair of games last week. The Cowgirls lost, 63-57, during the midweek to Texas A&M before beating Texas Tech, 73-54, on Saturday. The win marked the first time since the formation of the Big 12 that OSU has swept the season series with the Lady Raiders. Andrea Riley finished with 21 points against Texas Tech to push her over the 1,000-point mark for her career, making her just the second Cowgirl to achieve the feat as a sophomore. Riley now has 633 points on the year, which is tied for the second-best season total in school history. The win was OSU’s 14th home victory of the season, setting a singleseason school record for home victories. Saturday’s contest was the final home game for Cowgirl seniors Maria Cordero and Danielle Green.

The Longhorns (18-11, 6-9) got on the winning track with two road victories at Kansas (57-53) and at No. 10 Oklahoma (65-50). The upset win over 10th-ranked OU was UT’s second victory over a Top 10 team in the last two weeks (UT defeated then-No. 8 Baylor, 61-51 on Feb. 13) and moves Texas to 5-6 against Top 25 opponents to date. Sophomore guard Brittainey Raven sparked both wins, collecting 37 points, seven rebounds and two steals in the wins with a game-high 21 points versus Kansas and game-high tying 16 against OU. Senior guard Erneisha Bailey totaled 24 points, 11 rebounds and five steals in the two victories as well. Texas out-rebounded Oklahoma, 43-33, and is now 14-4 when outrebounding the opposition. Texas used two solid free throw efforts in the wins, going 36-for-44 from the line in the two games (82 percent). This included a 15 for 16 effort in the final 1:48 to pull away from Oklahoma.

Texas A&M

Texas Tech

Aggies

Lady Raiders

Texas A&M has won nine of its last 10 against Big 12 Conference competition and carries a league-best five-game win streak into its regular-season finale against Oklahoma on Thursday. The Aggies are vying for one of four coveted first-round byes in the upcoming Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Kansas City.

Sophomore Maddy Brown came off the bench at Oklahoma State and scored a season-high 16 points as she hit a season-high four threepointers. She also had a season-high four rebounds and tied her season high of one block.

The Aggies have made a drastic turnaround by turning a 1-4 Big 12 start into their third consecutive 10-win season in conference play with a current 10-5 record. A&M is assured of its seventh all-time conference season above .500 and has won 34 Big 12 games over the last three years. Historically, no Aggie squad had ever turned in 30-or-more conference wins combined in a three-year span since A&M first began league play in the old Southwest Conference in 1982-83.

Sophomore Jordan Murphree scored a team-high 18 points against Oklahoma, which tied her season high. She also had 18 points at UNLV back in November. Murphree scored a career-high 19 points last year at Texas A&M.

A&M defeated back-to-back Top 25 opponents for the first time this season with a 63-57 road win over No. 17 Oklahoma State on Feb. 27 and a 72-53 upset of No. 8 Baylor on March 1. The Aggies’ 19-point margin of victory over BU was its largest in the Big 12 era against the Lady Bears and marked the sixth all-time win over a Top 10-ranked opponent in program history.

Murphree had 12 points at Oklahoma State to mark her fourth-straight game of double-figure scoring. Junior Dominic Seals finished with 10 points against the Sooners, marking her 21st game of double figure scoring this season. It was also her fifthstraight game to score in double digits. Seals also had a career-high three steals versus OU.
