BETHANY WEST RECREATION ASSOCIATION 2011 TENNIS RULES Please review these rules carefully before playing. Staff members will vigorously enforce all rules: violations may result in suspension or loss of tennis facility privileges. 1. Tennis Pro. Tennis Pro and Program Director, Ron Milenko, is available at the back courts for private lessons, clinics and other activities for all ages and skill levels, during the peak season. Further information is available at the clubhouse. 2. Proper Attire. Proper tennis attire is required on all courts at all times. 3. Tennis Shoes Only. Only non-marking tennis shoes are permitted on the courts. All shoes with non-white soles will he checked by the recreation staff or tennis pro to insure that they will not mark the courts. 4. No Tennis Lessons During Prime Time. In order to minimize distraction to players, teaching of novice players, except on the Pro Court with the divider net in place, is prohibited before noon and after 5:00 p.m. 5. No Sitting on Courts. No children, spectators or extra players are permitted to sit on the courts at any time. Benches are available outside the fence for spectators. Courts are limited to four players. 6. Three Balls Only During Prime Time. A maximum of three balls are permitted per court between 8:00 a.m. and noon and between 5:00 p.m. and dusk. 7. Check-In Procedures. All players must show their valid BWRA ID or pass and sign in at the desk before playing. The recreation attendant must check proper attire, shoes, number of players, etc. Guests and all round robin tournament players must also sign in at the desk. 8. Reservations. Bethany West owners and accompanying guests can reserve court time between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends from 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Owners must present BWRA ID when making a reservation. Renters must purchase recreational passes to be used when making a reservation. All players must be prepared to present either valid BWRA ID or passes upon arrival at desk for check-in. Reservations may be made in person only. Bethany West owners may make reservations one day in advance for a maximum of one hour of court time for each home owned or rented. Renters are permitted to make reservations on the day they request to play only. Two people from the same home must either share the reserved court time or try to get additional walk-on time, if available. Reservations are forfeited ten minutes after the hour. Walk-on time is available to all players at ten minutes past the hour. Only the recreation attendant or tennis pro may enter reservations on the court reservation sheet. 9. Tennis Round Robins. All Bethany West owners, their guests and tenants are invited to play in weekly round robin tournaments throughout the peak season. Please check for specific times and scheduling at the clubhouse. BWRA owners may register, in person, one day in advance for the tournament and may sign up one additional family member. All other players may not sign up until 8:00 a.m. on the day of the tournament and players must sign up in person. Tournaments will be limited to twenty players. Any player who signs up and then decides not to play is asked to call the clubhouse by 8:00 a.m. to cancel. A $5 fee will be charged for all round robins and a $15 charge for weekly 90 minute clinics. 10. Children’s Clinics and Tournaments. Beginner and intermediate clinics and tournaments will be offered during the peak season, Monday through Friday. See flyers at clubhouse. 11. Court Courtesy. Please wait until a point is completed before walking behind players, returning a ball to another court or requesting return of a ball to your court. Teaching or other behavior that interferes with the play and concentration of others, including loud, abusive or profane language and lengthy conversation unrelated to tennis is strictly forbidden. Please bring water as it is not provided on the courts. 12. Tennis Court Keys. BWRA owners only may pick up and sign for their tennis court key at Wilgus Associates Property Management (located at the corner of Highway One and Jefferson Bridge Road) during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm and Saturday, 8:30am to Noon.

Management: A staff member will be on duty at the front and back pool at all times for your assistance. In addition, a representative from Wilgus Associates will be onsite at various times throughout the week to oversee the operations and address any problems or concerns. Wilgus Associates can be reached by calling 302-541-4222 or 302-539-7511. Check-In Procedures for both Pool & Tennis: • Everyone entering the pool or tennis areas must identify themselves to the staff attendant on duty and sign-in on the appropriate designated sheet. • The staff attendant on duty may at any time ask for identification from any individual. Owners: • Owners must present a valid 2008 pool pass for admittance to the facilities. Guests: • Must either be accompanied by an owner or be on a list supplied to Wilgus Associates Property indicating who will be utilizing their owner passes without the owner being present. • Any person not on a list as a guest will not be admitted to any BWRA facility unless they pay for a daily or weekly pass. • Owners who request to enter the pool facilities with more than ten (10) guests, including themselves, at one time, must purchase passes for ever additional guest. Renters: • Renters are defined as those individuals who make any type of payment or remuneration to an owner for the use and occupancy his/her home either privately or through a Rental Agency This includes individuals occupying an owners’ home as the result of a charitable contribution. • Renters can purchase passes at the back pool only. • These passes will permit admission to any of the BWRA facilities at the designated times that the facilities arc available to Renters. • It is the owner’s responsibility to provide this policy to any Realtor they may hire to assist in the rental of their home. Pass Rates: • Daily rate is $6 per person (all persons over the age of 3) • Weekly rate is $20 per person (all persons over the age of 3) • Seasonal rate is number of weeks in season x $20/week/person minus 25% discount Swim Attire: • Swimsuits must be worn at all times in the pool. • All swim attire must be in good taste. • No cut-offs or Street clothes permitted in the pool. • All patrons requiring diapers must wear “swimmie” diapers, which are available for purchase, in toddler sizes, at the back pool. Child Supervision: • All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult over 16 years of age and that adult must be in the pool area at all times. • The wading pools arc limited to children under the age of 6 and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. • Water wings, baby tubes, life rings, etc. are only permitted on children if the parent or adult is present in the pool with them or at arm’s reach. • Children are permitted to use water toys in the wading pools.

Adult Swim: • Adult swim sessions will be called at the discretion of the lifeguards throughout the season. Lifeguards’ Use of Whistles and Time Outs: • Lifeguards will blow their whistles upon seeing rule infractions and will inform the child at fault as well as the parent or accompanying adult of the rule violation. • Repeated violations of the rules will result in time outs at the lifeguard stand. • Repeated requirements for time outs will result in suspension or loss of pool privileges. Pool Courtesies and Safety: • No flotation devices other than Styrofoam “noodles” are permitted in the pools. • No radios are permitted in the pool area, except for use with earphones. • Smoking is strictly prohibited in the facility and pool area. A designated smoking area is available outside of each facility. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited at all times. • Towels mar be hung on chairs, but please refrain from hanging towels and other garments on the fences. • No playing on the steps or handrails of the pool or on or around the pool ropes. • For your safety all deck furniture must be 10 feet from the edge of the pool. • A shower is available at each facility and should be used before entering the pool area. • Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted in the pool area and recreation facility. Please dispose of trash in the proper trash receptacles and clean the tables appropriately after use. • NO glass containers permitted at any time. • No running, horseplay or use of offensive language is permitted at any time. Pool Penalties: • Any owner who fails to provide a pass upon entry to any BWRA facility will be fined $10 per day until pass is provided. • Any owner who provides their passes to a renter will be lined in the amount of $10 per day per person who utilized an owner pass. • Any person who uses foul language or inappropriate behavior while interacting with a staff attendant will be denied access to the facilities for a one (1) week period from the date of the infraction. Any attempt to gain access will result in trespassing and the appropriate authorities will be contacted and prosecution mar be sought by BWRA and its representatives. • A second offense for foul language or inappropriate behavior while interacting with a staff attendant will result in the loss of recreational privileges for the remainder of the season from the date of the infraction.
