EMC2 Benefits to the Warfighter • This project provided enhanced Enroute Mission Command for the 18th Airborne Corps Global Response Force Mission. • Results include increasing bandwidth to the aircraft from 256k to 5Mb (Ku) and up to 25Mb (Ka). • The hatch installation of antennas designed for the MC-130 and KC-130J air platforms brings high capacity bandwidth into the aircraft. • EMC2 extended the network to the adjoining aircraft by setting up a adaptive networking wideband waveform (ANW2) between dependent nodes on the surrounding aircraft (CV-22 and/or Lift, ISR or Fires aircraft). • ANW2 network provides approx. 1.2 MB of bandwidth between aircraft. EMC2 Facts • The Commander and his staff now have increased bandwidth and services along with chat, voice, COP, ISR Full Motion Video (to include High definition), and access to SIPR portal and Webmail. • This capability was provided to the XVIII Airborne Corps and the 82nd Airborne Division in June 1014 as well as to the SPMAGTF- CR-AF in Nov 2014 and SPMAGTF- CRCC in May 2015. • Commanders as well as the assigned troops have the most current SA on their objective area prior to departing the aircraft.

• EMC2 has been integrated into existing U.S. Army Program of Record by PM WIN-T and USMC by Networking on the Move (NOTM). UNCLASSIFIED

Tactical Radio eXtension (TRAX) Benefits to the Warfighter

• TRAX, developed by Sierra Nevada Corporation, facilitates a true integrated air and ground Common Operational Picture (COP) – Receives multiple data formats transmitted from the primary warfighting wave forms (Link-16, SADL, VMF, ANW2, MANET) – Then appropriately & immediately forwards that data into the desired waveform protocols (e.g. Link-16, SADL, VMF, ANW2, MANET) and other COP formats.

• A COP that displays TRAX data provides accurate, timely Precise Participant Location and Information (PPLI) concurrently to the Tactical Operations Center, air platforms, and troops (US and Coalition) on the ground • TRAX is a Special Operations Forces (SOF) proven software application that is being migrated to the General Purpose Forces with assistance from the Joint Staff J6 JTIB. • Successfully deployed in OEF since Dec 2012 without failure

• The ViaSat MOJO kit has a built-in computer and router that can host control and gateway applications. Warfighters are free to select their own applications and external displays to best suit their information and Situational Awareness needs. • Equipped with the ViaSat Small Tactical Terminal (STT) providing Link-16 connectivity. • As a proven best practice, TRAX software is loaded on the MOJO to support the tactical waveforms and capabilities. • The ViaSat MOJO kit packs rapidly-deployable Link 16, VHF/UHF (PRC-117G/152A interoperable), SADL (GFE), SATCOM, and SINCGARS networking and gateway in an all-inclusive, compact package.

• 4G LTE is a single tunnel secure cellular system that provides a 4G LTE network in a small deployable package – a fully interoperable cellular solution that enables high-speed, high-capacity, highconnectivity voice, video, and data transmissions. . • The 4G LTE selected system can support any IP-based application.

• The 4G LTE selected system can use a variety of commercial standards based cellular devices (e.g. smart phones, tablets, Wi-Fi, dongles, modems, etc.). Examples: ATAK (with its integration with Ring Tail) and Net Warrior 2) ISR Video: Provides the ability to display redistributed ISR video on LTE enabled devices.
