Scholarships & Sports Scholarship The NUS Scholarships are highly coveted scholarships awarded to high calibre individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, present exceptional co-curricular activities records and exhibit outstanding leadership qualities. NUS Scholars are expected to contribute significantly to the NUS community while in NUS, and to emerge as dynamic global leaders who are capable of effecting a positive change to society after they graduate. The five tiers of NUS Scholarships offered to prospective students are as follow: • • • • •

In addition to the abovementioned NUS Scholarships, NUS also offers the NUS Sports Scholarship for highly-talented individuals who possess outstanding academic and sports participation and representation records. NUS Sports Scholars are uniquely well-rounded individuals who are committed to bring NUS Sports to greater heights.
KEY FEATURES
ELIGIBILITY
• Attractive benefits, including eligibility for various university-funded scholar development programmes e.g. leadership programmes and camps and overseas community involvement programmes. • Tenable for the stipulated and typical duration of the respective undergraduate courses which applicants are admitted to, subject to maintaining a satisfactory level of academic performance and conduct throughout the course of study. • Available for any full-time undergraduate degree in NUS (excluding Yale-NUS College), including Double Degree Programmes and Concurrent Degree Programmes. Limited scholarships are available for Dentistry, Medicine and Music. • Scholarships are bond-free.
Applicants for the NUS Scholarships/ NUS Sports Scholarship must: • Be Singapore Citizens; • Have strong leadership qualities and potential; • Have a good co-curricular activities record, and • Have offered GCE ‘A’ levels, Diploma from a polytechnic in Singapore or equivalent high school qualifications (e.g. International Baccalaureate).
APPLICATION Interested students should apply for the NUS Scholarships and/or NUS Sports Scholarship at https://myaces.nus.edu.sg/ uasonline2/scholarships/Login.do from 1 February to 1 April every year.

Receiving the NUS Scholarship has truly enriched my life here in NUS. Many new windows of opportunities presented themselves as a result of this scholarship, such as being a part of the University Town College Programme and participating in other supplementary enrichment programmes, and I certainly did not hesitate to grab these opportunities. I am a proud resident of the College of Alice and Peter Tan, where I am involved in several activities including the Student Affairs committee, Badminton interest group and even the college’s inaugural Musical! Indeed, the NUS Scholarship gave me the freedom to pursue all that I have thus far.
There is an unimaginably vast world out there, full of stories and mysteries, ideas and inspirations. And one day, I want to see them all for myself. The NUS Scholarship brings me a step nearer, a horizon closer, to realising that dream.
It is a dream come true for me to be able to pursue the course of my choice while continuing to fence competitively, as I am extremely passionate about both. I am proud to be able to represent NUS, and I am grateful to NUS for supporting my sporting endeavours. With scholar grants and enrichment programmes available in addition to the plethora of exciting NUS-wide activities, the NUS Sports Scholarship has indeed provided me with the opportunity to enrich my university life, as well as the freedom to chase my dreams.
