Chairmans Welcome Message: Welcome everyone to the Greater Brisbane Junior Rugby League Grand Finals for this weekend. It has been a fantastic year. I wish all the players and their support staff the best for the weekend’s Grand Finals. The GBJRL Management Committee and staff have been visiting the grounds leading up to this day and have all commented on the standard of play and how supportive and positive the supporters, coaches and club officials have been. Always be positive and constructive and our players will react the same way. Can I remind everyone the reason we play rugby league (The Greatest Game Of All) at a junior level is to help towards developing our players future as leaders in our community. The young men and women who are playing rugby league are being nurtured by our coaches, support staff, parents and club members to one day make an effective impact in our society. This is a pathway of what Rugby League can provide. Please enjoy the magnificent football you will see today, and marvel at the skills these kids display. Grand Final Rules Game time is as for normal fixtures U11
20 minutes each half with a five minute break
U12
20 minutes each half with a five minute break
U13 – U16
30 minutes each half with a minimum five and maximum ten minute break
U18
35 minutes each half with a minimum five and maximum ten minute break With time off for injuries only in all grades
If at the end of the prescribed periods of normal play the score is level, the following maximum extra time shall be played or until the first team scores with no break between periods and no time off for injury. U11s & U12s
Extra Time
5 mins each way
U13s to U18s
Extra Time
10 mins each way
If the scores remains level after the completion of extra time both teams will be declared joint Premiers. The above rule applies to all grades.
