Bamrock flooring is manufactured from Moso bamboo. Considered to be the strongest bamboo species, Moso has exceptional tensile strength, superior to cold rolled steel. Cut into strips, carbonised, steamed and compressed, the bamboo poles are transformed into plank, harder than any timber floor in the world. Bamrock’s durability is further accentuated by its scratch resistant properties. Coated six times with a superior quality surface coating system, the result is a scratch resistant, low gloss finish; a hard wearing, long lasting solution for commercial and domestic requirements. Bamrock flooring is an excellent alternative to hardwood. Bamboo plantations can be harvested every 3 to 5 years whereas timbers can take up to 60 years to reach maturity. Growing up to a metre a year, bamboo is a naturally renewable resource that is sympathetic to the environment.

Bamrock is a natural product and as such has normal colour variation. When harvested in summer, bamboo has a high moisture content which results in a dark colour. In winter there is less moisture and therefore the bamboo is lighter.

Coatings Bamrock floating floor has six coats of Quality Klumpp Coatings. This system provides a wear protection of aluminium oxide with two polyurethane scratch-resistant topcoats. Coating is water based, solvent free and complies with European (E1) standards for off grassing. Hardness The Janka Hardness test measures the force (kN) required to embed a 1.12 steel ball to half it’s diameter in wood. It is one the best measures of the ability of a wood species to withstand denting and wear. Strand Woven Bamboo can withstand a force of 14.8kN, far superior to many of the world’s most popular flooring species. Moisture
