Avaya one-X Deskphone H.323 for 9608, 9611G, 9621G and 9641G Telephones, Release 6.0 Readme This file is the readme for the Avaya one-X™ Deskphone H.323 Edition release 6.0 for 9608, 9611G, 9621G, and 9641G model IP Telephones. With the introduction of the 9608, 9611G, 9621G, and 9641G telephones a new telephone power module was introduced. The new power module is called the IP Phone Single Port Power over Ethernet Injector 10/100/1000, and is the only supported Telephone Power Module for the 9608, 9611G, 9621G and the 9641G IP Deskphones. The remainder of this file describes the contents of the Beta Release 6.0 software distribution package.

New Features introduced as part Release 6.0 (compared to earlier 96xx releases ) v Split screen support on 9608 and 9611G models §

Navigation in a Half Width Screen with up/down/left/right button.

Paging with left/right button to Filtered Screens.

§

No navigation with up/down buttons if the number of lines is less than or equal to 8.

§

One ‘page’ can hold 8 lines, which are filled starting in the top left, and going top-to-bottom and then left-to-right.

§

If there are more than 8 items, the next page is shown after pressing the down button. If the next page consists fewer than 8 items, the screen is filled with the items from the next page at the bottom and the last lines from the previous page at the top.

Known Limitations of Release 6.0 v Bluetooth cannot be used as part of this release for 9641 and will be made available in a service pack release. v IPv6 operation is limited to a specific customer set and is not for general use v Presence status of H.323 users is not shown on SIP users devices. v if WMLPROXY is specified for SCEP certificate downloads, please make sure that the proxy server allows the requests with ".dll" in the URL. Some of the proxy server has the default configuration of blocking urls containing such extensions., please make sure that the proxy server allows the requests with ".dll" in the URL. Known Issues of Release 6.0 v Issues Observed specific to 6.0 releases : Ø

When phone is on call, changing the CM configurations multiple times for H.323 security profiles dynamically from strong to challenge and vice versa may result in phone to reboot some times

Workaround: This is not a normal scenario for end user and changing the CM configurations dynamically need to be avoided as much as possible for H.323 security profiles

On 9641 model, Browser does not show scroll bar when the WML page is not longer than one screen for supporting highlighting

Ø

.wbmp images are ignored and not displayed on the WML Browser

Ø

Phone crashes when WML page of 4.5 MB is rendered

Ø

Phone does not set priority value as per Phy2prio parameter to received packets on phy2 int.

Ø

Phone remains in discover screen forever while user does USB log in and log out if the call server is unreachable When .jpg image is set as screensaver on 9608 phone, the image is enlarged and so appears distorted.

Call appearances administered for BM12 do not appear on phone screen when user changes the Phone screen width to half

COMMUNICATION MANAGER (CM) COMPATIBILITY: v Although the new 9600 series models IP phones are supported on Communication Manager 3.1.4 and higher, we recommend using the latest Communication Manager release with new 9600 series models IP telephones. See the “Communication Manager Software & Firmware Compatibility Matrix” at support.avaya.com for the supported software/firmware versions of the Media Server, Media Gateway, and circuit packs. Ø

CM releases prior to 4.0 do not provide native support for the new 9600 series models IP Telephones; it is recommended that the 9608 and 9611G IP Telephones be administered as a 9630 IP Telephone and that the 9621, 9641 IP Telephones be administered as a 9650 IP Telephone. Please refer to administration guide for details on native support.

CM release prior to 3.1.4 do not support R6.0 firmware. The phone will not register to those CM loads.

Parts of this software have been adapted from the libpng library. Although this library supports all features from the PNG specification (as MNG descends from it) it does not require the libpng library. It does require the zlib library and optionally the IJG JPEG library, and/or the "little-cms" library by Marti Maria Saguer (depending on the inclusion of support for JNG and Full-Color-Management respectively.

This library's function is primarily to read and display MNG animations. It is not meant as a full-featured image-editing component! It does however offer creation and editing functionality at the chunk level. (future modifications may include some more support for creation and or editing)
