1 Travel to Austria Meet your One Traveller representative and fellow travellers and board your direct flight to Salzburg. On arrival transfer to the Hotel Brückenwirt for a seven-night stay on a half board basis and an included light lunch. Evening: welcome drinks reception followed by a three-course dinner.

2 Hallstatt and Lake Gosau Morning: a two-centre excursion starting at the lakeside town of Hallstatt with a cruise. This region has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997 and the only lake in Europe to make the list of the world’s top ten outstanding lakes. Afternoon: you will then be driven through the Lämmertal to stunning Lake Gosau to enjoy views of the Dachstein Glacier amidst beautiful unspoilt scenery. Evening: dinner in the hotel.

3 Kitzbühel (Tyrol) and Zell am See Morning: Kitzbühel is one of the most luxurious ski resorts in the Austrian Tyrol. You will have the opportunity to take the cable car up to some wonderful scenery and to relax in the town. Afternoon: after time for lunch in Kitzbühel you will be taken to Zell am See, which is a charming old town with a medieval centre, one of the most picturesque resorts in Austria. Evening: dinner and included folklore show in the hotel.

4 Half day: Hohenwerfen Castle Morning: excursion to the spectacular castle where the filming of Where Eagles Dare took place. A gondola will take you to the top to admire the view. After a visit to the castle enjoy an up-close live falconry display. Afternoon: included lunch in the hotel followed by a relaxing afternoon. Evening: you will have the opportunity to join an evening dinner and exquisite classical concert in Salzburg, without which no trip to Austria is complete.

5 Free Day Morning: the day is at leisure but if you wish after breakfast you can join your Tour Manager on a leisurely walk through the Liechtenstein Gorge where water thunders through the narrow rocks and creates quite a sight! Afternoon: you can enjoy the hotel’s facilities, explore the wonderful resort and later join your fellow One Travellers for included afternoon tea/coffee and cake on the terrace. Evening: dinner in the hotel.

6 Bad Ischl and St. Wolfgang Your first stop is the spa town of Bad Ischl (a favourite of the Habsburgs) to view the Imperial Kaiservilla. From here you will go to the lakeside resort of St. Wolfgang, home of the famous White Horse Inn (from the Ralph Benatzky Operetta) where you will be taken by horse and carriage to see stunning views. Evening: special buffet in the hotel.

7 Salzburg This visit to Salzburg - the birthplace of Mozart and one of Europe’s finest baroque cities - includes a guided tour. Admire the pedestrian

streets and palatial residences - an absolute must see! Evening: farewell drinks gathering and dinner.

8 Departure day After breakfast bid a fond farewell to your friendly hotel owner and depart for Salzburg Airport for the flight back to the UK.

Included excursions Lake Gossau and Hallstatt with boat cruise A UNESCO world heritage site since 1997 for its outstanding natural beauty. A lake cruise is included and time to wander and have lunch. On this day we drive through the Lammertal to Lake Gosau with views of the Dachstein Glacier and unspoilt serene views.

Kitzbühel and the Tyrol Kitzbühel, one of Austria’ most famous and chic resorts amidst the Wilder Kaiser mountain range and home to the Hahnenkamm ski run and with its cable car (at own cost). From here we drive to Zell am See; a charming town with a medieval centre and lakeside promenade.

Salzburg with guided city tour Birthplace of Mozart and the Rome of the North. This fine Baroque city is the home of “The Sound of Music”. A guided walking tour (all on flat ground) is included to see the sights, fine Baroque architecture, palatial residences and the Cathedral of this magnificent former archbishop principality.

Hohenwerfen Castle A short half day excursion to the dramatically spectacular castle used in the movie “Where Eagles Dare” with a gondola ride to take you to the top to admire the view followed by an up close live falconry display.

Optional excursions Concert and dinner in Salzburg Held in the splendour of the baroque salon of St Peters Abbey in the heart of the city, this concert is

played all in candlelight with music played between the three courses and the musicians are in period costume. The AMADEUS CONSORT performs arias, duets and overtures from ‘Don Giovanni’, ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ and ‘The Magic Flute’, as well as a rendition of ‘Eine kleine Nachtmusik’. The superb dinner is inspired by 18th century recipes. Dress is smart casual though gentleman will not necessarily need a jacket and tie. The venue is in the heart of the old town.

Bad Ischl and St Wolfgang The spa town of bad Ischl is home to the summer Kaiservilla where the Emporer Franz Josef I signed the declaration that started World War I. A guided tour is included. Then onto the lakeside town of St Wolfgang; famous for the Ralf Benatzky Operetta “The White Horse Inn” where we include a horse and carriage ride to stunning unspoilt scenery.

Hotels Brückenwirt Hotel In the elegant four-star family-run Brückenwirt Hotel you will have a double room to yourself. Petra, your friendly host, will ensure everyone is made to feel welcome and comfortable. Coffee and cake is included one afternoon in the hotel as well as a special buffet evening and folklore show. The staff are very helpful and they speak good English and breakfast is a plentiful spread. The hotel also has a gym, sauna, steam room and whirlpool with a changing area and relaxing room. The pool is open year round, entered from indoors and heated to a warm 30 degrees. There is a comfortable bar and table service seating area and on warm days a terrace with wonderful mountain views. All hotel bar bills and incidental charges can be settled and the end of your stay with a debit or credit card. Your hotel room: you will have a double room for single occupancy which will be equipped with a hairdryer, bathrobe, soap, shampoo, shower gel and ample towels for both bathroom and the hotel pool will be provided. Tea and coffee making facilities are not provided in Austrian hotels so you may wish to bring your own. There is complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel. Hotel bathrooms: nearly all the hotel bathrooms have walk in showers. There are only four rooms with bathtubs which may be requested but cannot be guaranteed. The resort of Saint Johann im Pongau has a range of shops and boutiques selling unique and traditional gifts, as well as bakeries and confectioners selling seasonal specialities, coffee houses, banks and a supermarket all within a short walk from the hotel.
