EXPORT DOCUMENTATION Since 1992, all Export Documentation for meat exports has been completed using the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) EXDOC computer system. Meat exporters are required to submit to EXDOC a Request for Permit (RFP) to export. Prior to July, 1998, the relevant parts of the information contained in the completed RFP (Form 4 data) was automatically sent to the Australian Meat and Livestock Corporation (AMLC) by EXDOC. On 1 July, 1998, the functions of the AMLC were split between Meat and Livestock Australia, AQIS (meat and livestock export licensing), and the Livestock and Pastoral Division (LPD) of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (export statistics and quota administration), and AMLC ceased to operate. EXDOC now sends Form 4 data to LPD The legislative requirements for Form 4 data remain the same, that is, exporters are required to provide the item number (known as the Cut Code on EXDOC), in this booklet which most accurately describes the meat cut from which each export item is derived. An EXDOC RFP can only be completed (and the Form 4 data will only be sent to LPD), if a full description of the product is provided by the exporter. This includes the Pack Type and Meat Type, which must be entered into the corresponding fields in the RFP. Although not all Meat items exported are shown in the AUS-MEAT ‘Handbook of Australian Meat’, the full list of all current and new items is included in this booklet. There are also many unused numbers which may be allocated a product against sometime in the future. When new products are allocated new item numbers, each RFP Cut Code Reference booklet should be updated. The Provision of Information Order sets down the full requirements for the completion of the Corporations RFP return and includes the following “Pack Type” and “Meat Type” codes to be entered in the corresponding columns on the return.
