Important documents A valid passport is required for all people entering Australia. Passports must be valid for longer than the period of stay in Australia. Visitors of all nationalities (except Australian and New Zealand passport holders) must obtain a visa prior to arrival. Please make your application early.

Electricity The electrical current in Australia is 220240 volts, AC 50Hz. The Australian threepin power outlet is different from some other countries so you may need an adaptor. If your appliances are 110V, you may need a voltage converter. Universal outlets for 240V or 110V shavers are usually found in leading hotels.

Sun protection Enjoy outdoor activities in Australia’s beautiful weather, but minimise your exposure to the sun. Wear a broadbrimmed hat, cover up and apply water resistant sunscreen SPF 30+ frequently.

Seasons

The seasons in Australia are the reverse of the northern hemisphere. The summer months (December to February) are warm to hot. Bring lightweight clothes, but keep a jacket or sweater handy as nights may be cool. For the winter months (June to August), warmer clothes plus sweaters, jumpers, a jacket or light coat are advisable. Currency In the tropical areas, lightweight clothing Australian currency ($A) is decimal with the dollar as the basic unit (100 cents equals one (natural fibres) is suitable all year round. How the passes work Passes are easy to use and allow you to design your very own itinerary. They must, however, be purchased prior to arrival in Australia. Please note that it is also possible to mix and match passes so that you have some nights of one pass and some nights of another. Your pass will comprise of accommodation vouchers and includes your accommodation with private facilities.

There will be one voucher for each night of accommodation required. Accommodation can either be pre-booked or open-dated. Please note, however, that advance reservations are recommended during the peak seasons. Vouchers purchased for a particular pass are only valid for use at member properties. For example, a Best Western pass cannot be used at Choice Hotels Australasia.

Changes in prices and itineraries: Prices are based on tariffs and airfares current at time of printing. In the event that any change or series of changes to your itinerary demonstrates that your tour has thereby become materially different from that contemplated prior to the change or changes being effected and in respect of which we have already accepted your deposit or balance payment, you have the right to ask for a rearrangement or to withdraw from the tour and monies already paid will be refunded less any charges levied by suppliers. It is essential you check with your Travel Agent whether any such changes have occurred in the tour you have chosen before you complete your booking. If, in the unlikely event that we have to cancel your booking because of insufficient numbers booked or because of events outside our control, we will, if we are able to, offer you an alternative tour of a similar standard.
