Base Map data services available include national cover of: ● Ordnance Survey Premium Data (MasterMap, VectorMap Local, Meridian and Strategi) ○ PSMA or other Ordnance Survey license required ○ Available as contemporary web cartography or in a black and white style ○ Optionally watermarked with organisational logo when required ○ Service can be restricted to a licensed area defined by a polygon

Ordnance Survey OpenData (VectorMap District, Meridian and Strategi) OpenStreetMap (GB coverage in British National Grid) Astun Data Services Service Definition Version 5.0 March 2014

Map data is available in British National Grid (BNG) as an Open Geospatial Consortium Web Map Service (OGC WMS) or Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) or a Tiled Map Service (TMS) with 15 levels of zoom. Syndicated OpenData services include national cover of: ● Edubase ● NHS Choices (A NHS SLA is required to access this data) ● Local Government Boundaries (BoundaryLine) consolidated into a single layer and enhanced with data from OpenlyLocal ● Electoral Boundaries (BoundaryLine) enhanced with data from UKWhip ● Neighbourhood Crime incident data from police.uk aggregated to neighbourhood boundaries OpenData feeds are syndicated (cached and preprocessed on Astun servers) and served as an Open Geospatial Consortium Web Feature Services (OGC WFS)

Information assurance No operational customer data is stored or processed within Astun Data Services. Information assurance accreditation has not yet been sought for Astun Data Services, however we consider that all Astun Data Services would be classified as BIL0 or BIL1

Backup/restore and disaster recovery Astun Data Services are hosted within the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). A regular backup copy at each data refresh or software update cycle is replicated to a further instance located within a different geographic region for disaster recovery.

Pricing The cost of Astun Data Services is dependent upon the level of usage with each map served (OS Premium, OS Open or OpenStreetMap) being charged as a transaction (syndicated OpenData is offered on an unmeasured basis as part of ADS). 15 tiles is considered the equivalent of 1 WMS transaction, clients can use a combination of both services with tile usage equated to WMS transactions at a 15:1 ratio. Customers select a package of WMS transactions based upon their anticipated level of usage (Astun will advise customers on their probable level of usage based upon the experience of similar sized users) and pay an annual fee for access to the service. In the event that the predicted transaction levels are exceeded additional blocks of transactions can be purchased (any unused additional transactions can be rolled forward to the following year, however the annual fee will also be payable in the following year). WMS transactions and tiles can be combined with 15 tiles served being equivalent to 1 WMS transaction.
