BROWARD COLLEGE

T

he Associate in Arts Degree is well - recognized in the USA. because it a) proves that the student has completed 2 years of university study and b) it confirms that the student has completed half of an American Bachelor's degree program.

Broward College offers a wide variety of concentrations within the Associate degree, so that while fulfilling the general education requirements students can also take many subjects pertaining to their specific degree, whether it be in psychology, pre-medicine, engineering, business, information technology etc In order to complete the AA degree a student needs to take around 20 modules (60 credits) which takes between 1 ½ to 2 years to complete, depending whether the student takes 4 or 5 subjects each semester. A student may proceed with his/her studies to earn around another 60 credits ( 2 years ) and earn a Bachelor’s degree in any field. The advantage of earning an Associate degree in Sri Lanka is that it constitutes formal recognition of a student’s academic achievement after two years of university study. Many colleges and universities in the USA and elsewhere admit students into the 2nd or 3rd year of university study and this wide range of subjects within the first 2 years of study enables students to apply this integrated knowledge, skills and behavior to their personal and professional lives. The Associate in Arts degree is awarded by Broward College,Florida,USA.

BACHELORS DEGREE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 17. Q. What is the difference between a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science Degree? A. Both the Bachelor of Science (BS) and the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree programs require that students complete 120 semester hours. The main difference between the two degree programs lies in the number of arts and science and applied professional credits required for each degree program. The BA degree requires more arts and science credits than the BS. The BA degree requires a minimum of 90 semester hours in the arts and sciences, and allows for a maximum of 30 applied professional credits. The BS degree requires a minimum of 60 semester hours in the arts and sciences and allows up to 60 applied professional credits.
