Eun-Ha Kim, Syncopated Motions 01, mixed media, 102 x 76 cm, 2014

Introduction London-based ArtKore online gallery is pleased to announce its participation in Chelsea Art Fair 2016, representing authentic art from emerging as well as established contemporary Korean artists. At Chelsea Art Fair, ArtKore will showcase works by five artists: Ik-Ryeol Lee, Eun-Ha Kim, Min-Seok Kang, Mi-Ryoung Lim and Yeo-Joo Nam.

We encourage you all to stop by and enjoy these beautiful artworks during the art fair starting on April 21.

Yeo-Joo Nam, Reflective 15013, acrylic, resin, beads on canvas, 80 x 80 cm, 2015

Lim Mi-Ryoung, Glorify of Earth, oil on canvas, 161 x 132 cm, 2013

“There's the world on the earth, and above (in reality, the centre) is the wood overlooking and combining the world with its roots like the dirt. And below that tree is a chair, which stands for the artist's alter ego. […] The artist is traversing the world while sitting on the chair and through imagination brings the end of the world to herself or sometimes sends a new self alter ego there instead”. - Chung-Hwan, Kho, Art Critic

Ik-Ryeol Lee, Start, acrylic on canvas, 116 X 90.5 cm, 2016

“I wanted to express the symbolism and beauty in sports driving,” says Ik-Ryeol of his gracefully configured artwork. Emphasizing the minute aspects of race cars and the people intimately acquainted with them, Ik-Ryeol reveals race cars as a unique personal space directly tied to the visions and dreams of those who admire and work with them. This series of paintings focuses on F1, Indy 500 and NASCAR racing.

Yeo-Joo Nam, Reflective 15018, acrylic, resin on canvas, 72.7 x 116.8 cm, 2015

“The world of water projects, reflects and contemplates onto life and nature. The world bearing all sort of lives and nature which existed from the beginning of time can be reflected by water through Nam’s intrinsic lens. This can be elucidated through her independent methodology using acrylic, resin and beads on canvas, and readily leads us to mediate. Nam’s water world is beyond our daily life and common sense. The finite lives in the universe correspond, overlap, reconcile and circulate infinitely, finally reaching the infinite utopia on canvas.” - Cho Eun-Young, Professor of History of Art in Wonkwang University, President of Korea Association for History of Modern Art

Eun-Ha Kim, Syncopated Motions, mixed media, 27 x 35 cm, 2015

“The shapes are disappearing, but the traces of movement are dancing with excitement, and the lines, which refer to the head-spinning dance with a long tape on the head, are making the painting uplift emotion. Although the theme is based on our traditional culture, her painting skill is based on western one, giving a positive message on life to all the people who live a rough life in East & West, and even all over the world. Additionally, I assume that she may want to deliver the message to people that embracing hope, joy, and positive energy is the most important thing in life”. - Jong-Chul, Park, Art Critic

Min-Seok Kang, Stray Racer NO.4, mixed media, 91x50cm, 2015

“A stray racer lost his way in a dream of a maze while running with a splendid hope. But I am already a proficient racer in the dream. Repeated fear and hope intersect and I am racing lonely in a maze-like dream. I am running to find a new way, which will appear someday, passing through woods and cactuses. The racer heading for a new way doesn't stop to find a passage point of the turning maze. I enjoy my splendid hope and the fear and adventure continue. Unless they stop, the dream will continue. So the racer bearing a hope and not losing the way is looking for an answer.” - Min-Seok Kang, Artist
