Hours of Care Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (**additional hours available on hourly basis) B. Fees for Care (these are based on full days and will result in a permanent full or part-time contract). Occasional or “drop-in care” is available with an alternative contract. Must be scheduled and approved at least 24 hours in advance. Unscheduled Overtime- $2 per minute per child, after 6:00 p.m. Sibling discount is 10% of lower fee for care Additional 5% discount for referral resulting in care for at least one month and lasting for the term of referred family. C. Drop Off/Pick-up If there is a change in your child’s regular pick-up or drop-off time, please let provider or substitute provider know if it is more than one hour from regular schedule as this may affect outings or activities. Parent or guardian will inform provider if another person is going to pick up the child. There will be written consent either on a daily basis or by way of emergency card approval. D. Parent VisitationParents are welcome to visit their children during the day and are encouraged to volunteer as a part of their child’s educational experience.

E. Meals and Snacks Fees include nutritious meals and snacks served each day. Breakfast will be served between 7:00 and 8:45, morning snack at 10:15, lunch at 12:00 and afternoon snack at 3:30. Please make provider aware, in writing and with physician letter, of any allergies to food so that proper meal planning can avoid such issues. Alternate foods from home may be necessary.

F. Extra Clothing Each child should have at least 2 complete extra sets of clothing at the center marked with their name or initials. Seasonal changes will be made prior to the beginning of each season. *additional emergency clothing and personal items will be kept in an emergency provisions bag.

G. Illness Policy If your child is not well, please make arrangements to keep them home. Your child will always benefit from the 1:1 attention to their needs that cannot be afforded them in a child care setting. a. The provider or substitute shall : 1) monitor children for signs and symptoms of acute illness; and 2) immediately notify a child’s parent, guardian or other person designated on the child’s emergency card upon observing a sign or symptom of acute illness. Parent/guardian will have one hour to pick up child after call is made. b. The provider or substitute may not allow a child to enter or remain in care if the child is exhibiting symptoms of acute illness such as, but not limited to: (1) Vomiting; (2) Fever; (3) Seizures (4) Severe pain; or (5) Diarrhea *for extraordinary medical needs, 911 may be called. c. Children must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours (without medication) before they may return to child care. H. Medication Policy Provider can administer over the counter and prescription medication for your child with proper written authorization of child’s physician and parent permission forms signed and updated in advance.

I. Discipline Policy Provider believes that consistent rules and routine, modeling of appropriate behavior and positive reinforcement will serve to minimize negative or inappropriate behavior. However, when necessary, children will be talked with about their behavior and taught to redirect their feelings to a positive and appropriate outcome. When there is the possibility of physical harm, children will be removed for a brief time-out, then talked with about the situation. Parent(s) will be notified if behavior becomes unmanageable or inconsistent with positive social group interaction. J. Field Trips Parents acknowledge and give permission for provider to take children off premises for walking field trips in the community. Standard Rates and Payment Policies: 1. A deposit of one weekly rate is required with signed contract. The deposit will be used as the final payment of care (with adjustment for any rate changes) at the end of your stay with Arranwood Family Learning as long as appropriate notice of ending date has been given.

If registered or licensed, provider will comply with all daycare regulations and will make a copy of the regulations available to the parent/guardian upon request. Rates for holidays, absences, vacations, overtime: 1. Care will not be provided, but payment is due, on the following holidays when they occur on a day when the child is regularly scheduled for care: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and day after (Friday), Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Years Eve. If holiday falls on weekend, provider will be closed the following Monday. 2. Provider will take two weeks (or ten days) of vacation per year and will give at least a four week notice when planned. 3. Fees and policies for provider’s vacation: Provider will be paid for all contracted time during vacation and holidays listed. 4. If the provider is unable to provide care because of illness or emergency with less than 24 hours notice, the policy is: provider will try to enlist substitute for care, and will be entitled to 3 paid sick days per year. If substitute care is unavailable, parents will not be responsible for payment. 5. Provider will also be entitled to 5 days of personal leave per year. This leave may be taken with at least a two week notice. These days may also be used for jury duty, when necessary. 6. Provider will also be entitled to 3 days bereavement for immediate family members and close friends. Substitute care will try to be obtained. In the event care is unavailable, parent will not be responsible for payment. Damages: The policy for any damage caused by child while in the provider’s care unless caused by negligence of the provider is: parent will accept financial responsibility for any damage resulting in more than $25 replacement/repair fee.

Termination procedure: This contract may be terminated by either parent/guardian or provider by giving a 4 week written notice. The provider may terminate the contract without notice if the parent/guardian is more than one week late with scheduled payments. Changes to contract, desired by either parent/guardian or provider, must be made in writing, and acknowledged in writing by the other parties at least 4 weeks before the desired change takes effect. A new contract, or addendum may be signed at this time to reflect changes. Signatures: By signing this contract, all parties agree to all of the above terms and policies, including financial responsibility for care provided.
