ACT MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Arlington Children’s Theatre is to embrace, enrich, educate and entertain children and their families, within the Boston area, through its commitment to a unique, quality theatre program. Non profit status information and annual operating budget can be provided upon request.

ACT SHOW DETAILS • There are 20-100 children involved in each ACT show • ACT families come from over 20 Massachusetts communities • 170 – 350 audience members attend each ACT performance • There are typically 3 performances per show • Musicals typically attract 1,400 audience members per show • Plays typically attract 500 audience members per show • ACT shows offer an affordable, accessible theater experience for children of all ages and backgrounds • ACT annually produces 9 shows, 10 workshops, seasonal vacation programs, and private coaching

Looking ahead, we are fully committed to continuing to offer children the chance to participate in live theater. We offer low participation fees for all of our programs to ensure all children will be able to participate without regard to cost. For those unable to pay, we offer full financial assistance. Please support ACT and help us continue to provide low-cost, accessible theater for children of all ages and backgrounds by becoming a sponsor today.

2010 – 2011 PERFORMANCE SEASON 9 SHOWS – September, 2010 – May, 2011 http://act.arlington.ma.us/

CREATIVE STAFF Colleen Rua, Artistic Director Colleen was featured on stage in ACT’s first season in 1991. Since then she has acted and directed with Bostonbased theatres and universities and has worked with ACT for 8 years, serving as Artistic Director for the past 3 years. Colleen is currently completing her PhD in Drama from Tufts University.

Cory D’Arco Cory is a soprano with over ten years of stage experience. She joined the ACT community in 2008, vocal coaching Little Shop of Horrors, West Side Story, Godspell, Urinetown, Cabaret, and music directing Honk!Jr. She also works for The Lexington Players, and is the co-founder and artistic director of Lights Up Theatre in Wakefield. Cory is currently earning her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from Gordon College.

Brendan Kenney Brendan has been working with ACT for three seasons. He is a pianist, organist and flautist and has performed with various bands and pit orchestras across the North Shore. Brendan is currently the Music Director and Conductor for the theatre programs at Arlington Children’s Theatre, Wakefield High School, and Lights Up Theatre. Brendan is a Sign Language Interpretation major at Northern Essex Community College and plans on continuing to pursue his Music Education degree upon graduating from NECC.

Matthew Lundeen Matt is resident stage manager and a board member for Arlington Children's Theatre. While working with the children's theatre, Matt has directed, stage managed and choreographed several productions over the last six years. Matt also teaches several workshops throughout the theatre season such as Shakespeare and Acting. When he is not working on a production, Matt can be found in the second grade of Stratton Elementary School where he is a teaching assistant and theatre workshop leader. Matt holds a BA in Theatre Performance from Suffolk University and is currently working on his Master's of Education at Lesley University.
