Would you support the development of an upscale resort in a specially designated area in Treasure Island? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 582 out of 1038 (56.07%) 2. No - 236 out of 1038 (22.74%) 3. Undecided - 150 out of 1038 (14.45%) 4. Other - 99 out of 1038 (9.54%) Other answers: Treasure Island absolutely needs one or more We need something like this to enliven the city. IF NOT AT JOHN'S PASS Not if it exceeds three stories in height It would depend on the "specially designated area." would need more info/location/style etc... what would this resort offer? would it help TI as a whole more inf. more ifn. will it benifit the enitre island? Depends on location

Suggest an upscale resort to be built on the empty lot, just North of the Thunderbird I am not sure it should be high end - high moderate. Maybe, if not on Sunset Beach and include entertainment venues for locals, guests and children of all ages, theater. No casino. How upscale? The area now vacant on Gulf Blvd. across from McDonald's. as long as it didnt involve demo'ing existing historic motels If it does not encroach on beach access. 102-127th Aves. I would need to know more. Need more information. I would like to see TI a resort. Only on a previously developped site Would support with limiting guidelines re height/density Depends on location,I live on Gulf Blvd. need more info. On the beach. This is a very specific question, I'm not sure how this relates to a "vision" Who cares? Besides, the answer depends on too many variables. depends where and how much traffic would icrease Depends where and how tall Need more information It would depend on the "Specially Designated Area". Probably Depends which area where? Provide they pay all the impact fees and municipal improvements required specially designated area only! They need the business Need more details Depends on specifics Not near Sunset Beach

Not near Sunset Beach depends on the location Absolutely As long as it doesn't block beach views As long as it stays within current height & density requirements I want the density laws to remain in place. Dog park for small to medium dogs should be considered Not on Sunset Beach A bad question!!! What is "upscale?" Where is the area? Need more information need more info We can't just be a "bedroom" comm. We need to capitalize on our great beach. Need to know more about it left blank not sure what "support" means, like it but probably not use it personally (also checked yes) Less "5 story" ugly ones. 3 tall Bdlgs with great hotels Only if it meet density & height guidelines No coastline obstructions from 6+ story bldgs (6 or less OK) Too vague to answer. Need more info Where? The ones we already have can't even fill their rooms. left blank include space for events...small conventions, musical, theatre. Not enough information for an intelligent answer Central area or N Island clean up old marina etc. but height limited - Sand Key/Clw Beach is an atrocity Are you hinting at T.I. Yacht Club? left blank left blank Need more information But not over 5 stories. Love T.I. Yacht Club!!! 1 resort breeds 2 resorts, then "Katie bar the door!!!"

1 resort breeds 2 resorts, then "Katie bar the door!!!" Need more specifics We have enough hotel/motel rooms Let me guess - the Rice family land by John's Pass Hints of changes in height and density restrictions See #15 depends on where & what depends on the resort I think upscale resorts exclude people from visualizing the coastline. I have driven along coastal cities for miles & miles & never was able to see the water. undecipherable without an increase of current height & density What area? What % vegetation? Downtown TI is an aesthetic mess! Who let that t-shirt store build on an entry site? Need more specifics In spirit, not financially support how? As long as you don't increase height or density left blank only if they don't line M Maloof's pocket with $ left blank Already crowded enough especially during season Only if English speaking employees with benefits & livable salary Depending on location Not until beach walk looks presentable. That should be priority. Who pays for it? As long as we're not inundated with them It would depend on the specifics. Support sounds like Tax Payers, paying for private profits. Hell No I would support it, but not with tax dollars

Would you be willing to support more businesses in order to lower your property taxes? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 719 out of 1038 (69.27%) 2. No - 102 out of 1038 (9.83%) 3. Undecided - 123 out of 1038 (11.85%) 4. Other - 122 out of 1038 (11.75%) Other answers: Don't live on TI Not a resident DUH!---Poorly worded marketing question.

short term tax incentives, and streamling to bring in new bus If it is business' that are condusive to the community. If businesses were upscale we always try to use ti businesses before we leave the island for any shopping Depends on the type of business I would be willing to "shop local" if that's the essence of this question as long as they do not operate in residential areas Depends on the businesses. Taxes are fair right now. Depends on nature of businesses As long as the businesses support the community and not just cater to tourists. Want to maintain the Small town feel of TI More businesses = lower taxes?? Really? By support I mean I will use their services. I always have. How? Office space Depends on the business. But it sounds impossible to do both at the same time. Not large retain chains, fast food chains. but I do not understnst the relation? Businesses pay property taxes just like residences do and all the sales tax goes to the county and state. Yes, but there are plenty of empty storefronts to fill first. Yes if and only if "support"means to be a customer and NOT a funding source via tax breaks, grants, or ANY gov't. involvement. Increased density of residential in areas, particularly downtown Depends More info needed NA-tourist Not Resident Most T.I. residents do not support what we have now! . Again, a bad (slanted) question. It assumes more business can reduce our residential taxes in a

substantial manner. Business hardly makes a dent in our residential taxes. And for most of the full time "capped" residences it makes no difference at all. "support" businesses? We put money into businesses? we patronize more businesses? what does this mean? Too vague. What kind of support do you mean? We need free parking to visit as tax paying citizens Is this a guess that it will lower my property tax or a guarnantee that it will lower my property taxes? That is a false premise City would need to become more efficient in their spending not a resident blank blank depends on type of business Need something we can all use besides tee shirt shops and tatoo parlors. No Drug Rehabs! Support in what way? I will not pay for infrastructure that benefits businesses only. depends on what types Too many taxes we do support local business Maybe - but do we have room? I like the ambiance of Treasure Island Need more details They don't depends Just slap me 24 (hour?) Walmart would bring it in If they occupy only 2-story building. No high-rise development Not on Sunset Beach Need more understanding of question/issue This is stupid! Taxes never gget lowered. What businesses? probably

under controlled conditions As long as they're not tee shirt shops and fast food, drive thru restaurants We have supported too much for just a few (also checked undecided) I do not support replacing residences with businesses, but would support more businesses at current locations (e.g. multi-story) If it would do that Depends on the kind of business - no more bars. Yes yes yes left blank What kind of businesses? What do you mean by support? Do you mean city funds being used? Depending on where ? Not much room. Not enough information to give an intelligent answer Only if they did not bring tall buildings I rent here - own a house in Orlando What kind of businesses? Depends on what - we don't need more restaurants/bars Depends on businesses. Not a resort at Caddy's and how do you propose that? left blank Depends on the business Don't understand this question. Already support. Something for children I wish to give my $ to local businesses More businesses don't usually or necessarily lower residential property taxes. They only broaden the taxable base. without increasing height and density no more t-shirt shops Also checked undecided Support in what way? left blank

left blank Support? Not t-shirt shops! We doubt that new businesses would lower taxes Support in what way? Support? I think that is not true. We want a small town ambiance. left blank But it depends on the quality of the businesses Already plenty of room for businesses. Haven't attracted the right ones. Only if they support local employees I always try to shop TI whenever possible but new meters were a stupid step for getting patrons - dumb n/a I rent but, I seriously don't anticipate my taxes being lowered unless Disneyland came to town & we don't want that, right? absolutely not ow realistically does that work? Absurd question. Just slap m - stupid question Depends on the type & number of businesses what kind of businesses? It depends - not Amscot, Rent-A-Center, Aldi's type businesses or any "Adult" businesses.

Would you be supportive of relocating current city facilities on 108th (police, fire, etc.) and sell the waterfront site for private development? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 443 out of 1038 (42.68%) 2. No - 357 out of 1038 (34.39%) 3. Undecided - 155 out of 1038 (14.93%) 4. Other - 171 out of 1038 (16.47%) Other answers: Private development? Next to a sewer pump station? Not for more condos. For destination retail, food service business development not hotel or residential Definitely!!!!!!!!!!! Not for more condos, but a public park, Mini Golf, i.e. its very unique & an asset to have that waterfront - would hate to see it developed. what type of private devolpment? NOT CONDOS!!! what would we dev. Depends on what would be put in place of these facilities If it brings in revenue for the City. as long as it is not more condos I like having the city facilities centrally located on Treasure Island

Police need new facilities. Depends where the police etc. would move to. This is too hard to answer without knowing where they would go. Right now, they're very handily located for all who come into the center of town. Depends on price and nature of development Depends on where the proposed new location would be. Possible relocation if the current waterfront property could be used as a public park If it did not cost the city for this concession of valuable property. No cost and better construction quality than the community center. Centrally located now! Easy to see and reach for all. Put a new building up (2 stories?) with an elevator! General office and meeting room first floor. Built by a TI builder and contractors. We have many good ones in TI. depends on where relocated and what type of "private development." too many vacant condos and houses for sale as it is to add to the current inventory Not for condos but for commercial. Keep our downtown looking like a small modern town. Improve current buildings add a nice marina area and walks along water, update landscaping, etc. There is so much unfinished and vacant development now. No response given. Move public works dept to Treasure Bay property. Put multi-level parking garage with city hall on community center property including police and fire dept. Relocate where on this island? only if the total relocation costs were off set by the sale. What would we develop? Too valuable for that. Where would you put these? Nobody else in town wants these facilities next to them. Only if the development is low-density and height. YES, If the switch would make a profit + not cause problems for other land owners. Where would city facilities move? Awesome idea!! Definitely As long as you get the right price for the property plus in order to pay for the relocating By the Gators

Depends on new location Depends on alterative location (s) No- your question does not provide adequate information Definitely Put the Marina behind it. But* need more info. Depends on what facilities. NA-tourist Not at this time. Depends on cost a efficiency of project Where would we put it? This would mean a new city hall and police/fire dept. what will the $ be used for? Getting a retail marina to purchase the land is perfect And neither will the electorate at a referendum Only if it resulted in more public space, not less. We can't get to a free beach now with out paying to park. I don't visit for this reason and Im 1 mi away. If more than 5 stores high with a parking ramp As long as the property sells for more then the cost of the new facilities. Depending on height and density restrictions Depends on cost of move but the sales price should mostly cover the cost to build a new facilidty Where would it go and would it be cost effective. move to TI park Sell beach pavilion & 108th, buy Gulf front vacant lot I like location (middle of island) Absolutely! Depends on cost of relocation and where moved. It's ridiculous to waste the waterfront on city hall/police, etc. Move facilities and use as a park. 1) I don't need more taxes; 2) Get rid of Police save money.

1) I don't need more taxes; 2) Get rid of Police save money. This would be a one-time gain, not worth it in the long-run. steling (sic) money The facilities are centrally located now. Should stay that way. Absolutely not Where would the new location be? The last thing T.I. needs is more private development/condos. It's ruining the character of our community. Yes (if) the price they get for the property pays to relocate the city facilities or th new property owners pay for relocating city facilities No way Most definitely Use off (sic) police/Fire Dept. where will you chose (sic) to move too (sic)? hotels & restaurants I don't want T.I. turning into cement, high-rise projects Depends on where to, what replaces it We have a large Gulf front property (open for 3 years) in the 10800 block Not until market recovers more & city could get a better price for waterfront property depends Why?? and relocate to where? Why do this? Depends on sale and cost to replace We don't need more big development Not the time to sell (relocate them where?) Relocate where? At what cost? Replaced with what? Is this monetarily feasible? Depends on cost where to go, cost effective??? Where would City Hall go?

Depends on relocation site Building new facilities for fire & police which might not even exist is not a good idea It would depend what the city leadership proposed What would replace current hq? Where/how much for new city facilities? Only if it ends up making financial sense We're already overdeveloped Only if the TI residents won't be paying any of it. NO Absolutely - what a waste of waterfront property! (also checked yes) Business districk (sic), relocate to comm center and park - better use for the land! We have plenty of other parks. Not at this time Property is down 40 to 50 percent, hold it If the selling price is within 20% of building new When market comes back yes. Not in next couple years. When get more revenue from empty properties. Absolutely not. Why sell valuable city property? Rebuild on the same property. Depends on the new location TIPD needs boat docks - it's a good central location more condos? No Absolutely not! Depends on Where you locate. I like it where it is pends profit/loss Where would the current facilities be moved to? only if the revenue from the sale completely off sets the cost of the new facility Not private development - public space - yes too expensive to rebuild When values are higher!! Why sell in a depressed market? no way - it's paid for If within 10 blocks of 117th Ave - Yes

If within 10 blocks of 117th Ave - Yes In the right market Waste of time - money to "relocate" value of property on 108th has dropped like everywhere else!! No! Please - this would make me move. only if it was residential Where will you move to? Predesignate the funds - no more stupid expenditures like the faux bridge area behind comm center. Depends on relocation site only if taxes are not raised due to move with short-term dock space provided to those who dine "down town." But wait until prices go back up only if we could make a large profit only if it could be done at a profit if profitable what is purpose Only if it would not cost the taxpayers to rebuild elsewhere Maybe depends where proceeds sale go to depending on the cost of moving vs sale price of property Absolutely! What about police boats? where else is there enough land that is not waterfront - does this include public works? depends on type of development If passes keep all building at 5 stories. Yes, as long as police, fire, etc. remained in downtown TI, otherwise no. Waterfront is prime for walking plaza or park! Depends on what the relocation will cost & where it will be. great place for shops & restaurants left blank Not needed.

Only if sale fully paid cost at new facilities As long as you don't sell to jet ski rentals or a biz that would disturb residents Where would those facilities be moved to? It's a special thing we have on TI & I'd hate to see it be sold for more condos, etc. Depends on the development If located to city-owned property Get rid of police dept. Bad time to sell real estate Only if private development was "entertainment" no condos. First, where wld these facilities be placed Real Estate too depressed now. Relocate them to where? Midtown. what the cost of relocation No! And spend how much for new facilities? That would depend only if the city would come out $'s ahead Do you have a developer on the committee? Only if the proceeds from the sale greatly exceeded the costs to relocate so as to allow for the construction of significantly better city facilities.

Would you consider modest increases in height and density in limited defined zones if the business community contributed amenities such as enhanced landscaping, beach access, and/or public parking? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 524 out of 1038 (50.48%) 2. No - 386 out of 1038 (37.19%) 3. Undecided - 69 out of 1038 (6.65%) 4. Other - 121 out of 1038 (11.66%) Other answers: Key words "modest," "limited." 1 - 2 stories only To get TI revitalized we need to have more hotels would need to know more about modest and location 6 above parking is ENOUGH! It is only the developer who earns the big money. i like the "mom & pop" feel that we have on ti, i don't like the highrise condo/hotels you so often see in other beach areas. more inf. Depends on the height, don't want it like Clearwater Especially waterfront property on Gulf BV would bring beauty and tax revenues needed with free parking five story limit is very reasonable, don't need to look like Madeira and further north

yes to both height and density so long as the beach is left untouched from what it already is; parking is always welcome That would depend on the locaon and project not limited the whole island Don't want TI to turn into anything resembling Sand Key beach which has nothing but high rise condos. Question "credits" type trades, seems like the new "shell game". This needs more public discussion and exposure. Definately need more beach parking! Two story garage? How modest? Need a stipulation. again, as long as current historic motels are not demo'd then yes. Go high for four star hotels. We are spotty enough now. Modest! 10 stories - 102 10 127 including gators. Without a definition of "modest" - Absolutely No !! Not until traffic flow is made better. but would like to know more. A must if you want TI to grow. no no no FORCED "CONTRIBUTION" IS GOVERNMENT THEFT. Yes with emphasis on height and desity limitations. Nothing new over 3 stories,no high rises. Modest means 6 or 7 stories? Why not go to 9? If the business community really did contribute the amenities listed above (need to have some guarantee) Definately not!! Not over 5 stories. Bad question - What zones? Not on the waterfront or West of Gulf Blvd. Density should be moved to downtown and north/south commercial nodes ONLY. I want less density, less height. Depends on where it is. Downtown TI yes, Sunset Beach no! depends o the height increase and what the zone is

Only under tight ISR,FAR provisions Don't want to look like Clearwater. Developers have already ignored the present limits. defined zones only! because losing jobs left blank No No No ?? Depends on the height and if the beach access & public parking actually happens Missing second page of survey No No No No freaking way! I will personally rally the residents to oppose this. What's in it for you? Little side $? How sad for you! Yes, if enough space between tall buildings exists Not on Sunset Beach NO!! but only for the 1 upscale new resort. Don't want a sea of higher rise buildings Are we going thru this again? No, no, and No! Where are any zones? afraid if give a little now pressure would come for bigger & higher later modest Modest If you keep raising the height you won't be able to see the beach - doh. It would be good to have a convention size resort Not to code. Parking garage is needed. Take out speed bumps - no semi's overnite! 5 stories is enough! Restrict building heights No No No No No No height increase, I don't know re density left blank If the city figures out how to write a development agreement

If the city figures out how to write a development agreement on 108th fine, sure! On Gulf B - no Bigger Blds will chase away your full time residents - increase the charm and you will attract $ Yes Yes left blank But to a reasonable degree! Look at areas north of us. Sand Key - Clearwater. No-no. We do not high rises (sic) No We already overwhelmingly voted this down. Don't bring it up again! Not at all left blank Would take away beauty of beach front Treasure Island is unique because of restrictions. Nice enough still have mom & pop feel about the area Will never agree to higher height/density increases comment 3 stories max NO!! keep footprint, increase height define modest How many times does this have to be revisited? as long as it is "modest" Not on Sunset Beach - limited access a problem. survey torn - not readable the island is too small to have high density bldgs. It impacts sewer & traffic that developers won't fix left blank left blank left blank left blank left blank

left blank left blank Modest? Where? The "opening" the door would be like giving a drunk a drink. The city would go nuts. Not higher buildings. Current t-shirt store overwhelms entrance to "village". Awful color & scale low end Coney Island. Need more specifics before giving opinion Define modest Modest? What is that? How does no freakin way sound? This is merely a ploy so developers can give $ to ex-mayors. I like our "small town" & "mom & pop" feel - I'd love to see that theme be our goal for TI enhance the small beach town image. Quaint - cute, etc. Again - depends on the proposed development Crowded enough w/ tourists. In defined zones Only for artistic value For beautification value only Never No! We voted! Slanted question - define "modest" before you ask! B.S. Do you want this to look like Sand Key? Yes if built on top of parking structures to reduce business loss due to flooding Definitely Needed "Modest" needs further definition.

Would you support the adoption of thematic design criteria for future development?

There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 430 out of 1038 (41.43%) 2. No - 214 out of 1038 (20.62%) 3. Undecided - 282 out of 1038 (27.17%) 4. Other - 156 out of 1038 (15.03%) Other answers: Yes, as long as it's not shopping mall architecture. What??? Signs, colors, architecture? would like to see community plan what Like the theme on the bridges. spell out thematic makeit more ped. friendly Explain "thematic", in what terms? Depends on what theme. The hodge-podge we have now is not attactive AS a density bonus, not as a requirement Would like to see proposals for the thematic design A Small Town, downtown district theme would be nice No response to question provided.

I think there needs to be some rule so the result is attractive. The name says it all "Treasure Island" a family destination with TI should be a lush playground. Entertainment, theme motels, sadly some are all gone, etc. Absolutely! If it is not too late. What is this? No response given. Depends on the theme - beachy yes-mediterranean no. We are a beach. The art deco building was torn down-almost too late for that. No answer given. No answer given. Example, don't know what you mean. What is this? Spell out "thematic"? No answer given. Need to know where. Depends on theme and only if owners had a choice: to join in or not No answer Depends If example like seaside, yes. Retro theme - neon! We already spent $100K on a downtown plaza. Don't understand the question This question assumes it would be mandatory. I would support a voluntary and/or carrot and stick approach. It would depend on the theme but it should tie in with our current beach vernacular. Broad principles, not design criteria, which leads to bland sameness. depends on the design; if like more recent designs, then no keep the island unique, not all the same No because it involves too many property owners and more taxes to accomplish. Like most people (I assume), I have no idea what a thematic design criteria for future development is, so I cannot say if I support it or not. You should have defined it in your question. Without knowing for sure, my inclination is to say NO.

blank Maybe, but it should be optional Maybe, if I knew what it was Absolutely! blank taxes too high left blank Need more details What is that!!! ?? x No No No yes-planned based on upscale beach community (Del Ray Beach for example) Keeping the colors bright & light - Key West theme Depends Don't know need more info re pros/cons This is not Disney World. Need more information What is this? left blank ? left blank What a terribly phrased question - thematic design is not even in the dictionary left blank New "beach store" on corner of Central & Gulf UGLY No more "consulting design costs" !! Depends on theme (some come and go and "date" the area) left blank However, not to look like new retail shop on 107th & Gulf

Depends upon what the "theme" would be What would it accomplish? Really don't have enough info to say yes or no Not sure what that means Weird! What is it? beach & sunset theme Most people do not know what this is (you could have done better) Speak English please left blank left blank To keep 50s era design but with a modern twist I don't really care - just have it look good! Why! So we can look like Clearwater concrete city condo's Don't know what it means left blank You need to phrase your question differently What is this? left blank Make it consistent throughout the city Do not know what is meant by this Not too late to build on the "Island" theme What does this mean?? We do like what was done with the bridges, causeway, clock tower corridor, beach center on Sunset, Trailhead Park. What is thematic design? What is this? What is this? left blank What are you talking about? Depends on theme. Armand Circle in Sarasota comes to mind as good theme Stop bulldozing old structures. The old, eclectic style on the beach was part of the "charm" & why we moved here!

why we moved here! Only if it's city-owned property. No use of tax money to enhance private business or residential property. as long as the theme is not too hokey...pirates are OK Not sure what this means Don't know about this Lose the pirate ugh! Don't know what that isi ? What if the theme is objectable (sic)? What is thematic design? Only if business owners and land owners agree Definitely THIS IS ABEACH! WE DO NOT NEED A THEME! left blank left blank left blank left blank ? left blank left blank left blank left blank maybe depends on theme left blank (Also checked undecided) Thematic? what is it? ? Absolutely necessary. we need a "real" downtown

we need a "real" downtown Only if you explain more clearly Would depend on variables - need info - too vague Depends on theme Support what theme? left blank See #8 Need more information What?? No idea what this question is asking. Don't know what this is At what cost? Moder development style Need better info As long as you don't run off developers i.e. La Quinta Depends on the thematic design What's your plan? as long as not tacky How many people even know what this question means? Not sure what this means Silly question Yes, as long as it had a consistent theme. let's see design first ??? Cottage beach type casual theme with upscale amenaties

Do you want to see the current beach trail renovated? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 668 out of 1038 (64.35%) 2. No - 175 out of 1038 (16.86%) 3. Undecided - 116 out of 1038 (11.18%) 4. Other - 137 out of 1038 (13.2%) Other answers: Absolutely! and extended and extended I would rather see randomly placed walkways out to the beach rather than along the sea wall. need business involvement renovate the cheap fronts of the junk stores on Gulf What beach trail? Especially lower lights. the trail is a great place! would love to see it utilized more, make it a destination for sunset celebrations, similar to sunset on key west w/ local artists, face painters, food carts, entertainment etc...help bring tourists/locals 2 t. island Would like to see the wall repaired and more lighting behind the undevloped property, very dark at night and not safe old motels used to provide lighting before torn down for SimDag development which never happened look at hollywood bch on the east coast for ideas really nice there wider walk and sep lanes for walker and bikers

walker and bikers How? Absolutely NO north or south expansion. I do support Repairs of existing trail PLEASE PLEASE and PLEASE Lengthened It seems ok now. I would also like to see it the entire lngth of the city, even if it needs to leave the beach only existing trail not at a tax increase perhaps extended The biggest eye sore on the trail are all the out dated, run down hotels. If the hotel owners would clean up/renovate their properties, the trail would be much more attractive. Hotels along the trail are in disrepair and are quite unattractive I would like to see it extended. Longer beach front trail would be great! and extended north and south. Renovated and widened as a draw for functions. Extended. Turn out or break stations - possible snacks and beverages, sunscreen, etc. Extend the trail to the lands end. I don't know. Need more details- what would be changed? How much to renovate? and extended. Also would like to see it extended to end of Sunset Beach. Yes, and lengthened. Yes, if we only use available oil money and not spend more money on it Anything to enhance outdoor lifestyle. That is why we live in Florida Not any time soon. It is a good idea, but, there are already too many construction projects disrupting daily activity on the island Please hurry! not renovated but extended if that's what you mean

Don't care Plus to extend the beach trail under John Pass Bridge and down Sunset Beach. Extending instead of renovating. Would be nice to have sep. bike, roller blades path. I would like it to be longer. Cat would be a major factor. And we should spend some public money to do that in a matching way to what is spend by the private abutting property owners that would benefit the most the hotels should pay for that and leave the decision up to them. Depends on the cost and how it would be paid. yes at a reasonable cost to tax payers. Extended southward Lengthened, yes, anything else, no expanded How? No, waste of money that could be used some place else like streets & bridges. too expensive continue to maintain well We had free $ and blew that. It should come to Sunset Pavillion & extended If it's necessary x Only a minimum improvement is necessary Not a good time in this economy This city spends way too much foolishly but only if cost effective Yes, but it needs to be at a reasonable price. Can we get volunteers and (??) involved? Not high priority Don't see anything wrong with what we have Not with tax money, let the adjacent business pay for it

walkers can walk at the beach - on the beach It is not used now except for a short area for hotel guests. Depends on cost length as is Extend to Sunset Beach Widen - allow cart vending, etc. Cost? Will hotels help with cost? Does it need it? If so, yes. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Don't know what or where the trail is would be good for residents & for tourism & motels More important issues at this point Do not know about beach trail Just keep maintained Why? and extended Didn't know we have one Extend from John's Pass to Blind Pass What renovations? It is much needed see PassaGrille wall its that simple Expand current trail farther south It is just a sidewalk! If affordable left blank only if it is paid for by the penny for Pinellas would depend on cost and design Have to have details And extended to Sunset Beach if possible! depending on cost Lengthened, pavers rather than just concrete and stepping stones or pathways toward beach. cost effective facelift

Seems fine currently Either extend it or eliminate it...it's too short. left blank What is the beach trail? extend all the way down Why pay for something that will benefit few. Shape up the present other priorities Also need a better bike trail system (none safe on T.I.) Too expensive to maintain properly The beach hotels should do more to keep the beach trail clean. Extended - how much? How? depends on cost lengthen it & beautify it left blank left blank left blank left blank made longer left blank How? I never use it & extended plants and meander bike friendly. extended to Sunset Beach It is not accessible - where can you park? If you mean the concrete walkway down from the Holiday Inn Fine as is, spend $ elsewhere the walls are falling down and look terrible

Reminds me of So Calif beaches If the price is reasonable It is fine like it is. 1st priority. Presently a disgrace. Thought it would be done by now. It's an abomination and embarassment In what way? and lengthened Add to existing - not a complete "overhaul" very much so

Would you support paying a portion of the cost for undergrounding city/county utilities on Gulf Blvd? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 390 out of 1038 (37.57%) 2. No - 414 out of 1038 (39.88%) 3. Undecided - 159 out of 1038 (15.32%) 4. Other - 113 out of 1038 (10.89%) Other answers: Service after a storm is restored quicker above ground Not a resident Possibly "Yes", depending on what that portion would be.

Possibly "Yes", depending on what that portion would be. Yes, if you would get rid of the Dollar Store!!!!! Need to know the portion of expense for each home owner i do think it is a wonderful thing-other ares that have them buried looks so much nicer Need to know more information about cost The utility companies should be able to handle this with all their increases. We eventually pay anyway. was hoping our high taxes would help to pay for most of it Depends on how much. have an ordinance that requires all uttilities to be off Gulf Bulevard for any future renovation or new construction I don't recall seeing any utilitiy lines on Gulf blvd Must be free from ground water intrusion. If we get it on our island also and don't get charged too heavily! We already are taxed too high even though house values are down. (Need cost range) Depends on the amount. Have to know the cost ahead of time. Need more information. Not necessary. You have county LOISS funds of almost $4 million and city LOISS funds plus at least half of the TI Gulf Blvd is already underground. Muni.Bond funded. refer to question 10... I thought it was being paid by the state. Take the penny for fenallis or hotel tax corrently taxen by the county back to towns. The public utilities is responsible. It's not worth the $. Depends on Cat. Yes, this is a huge visual impact on the "feel" of TI. Public funds for sure. When we are laying off city workers? Low priority. underground all areas Not a resident

within reason Don't make sense, let Gulf Blvd pay for their own portion On Gulf Blvd maybe - how much? left blank same as above Need cost vs. benefits details Possible - depends on Project Scope bonds bonds Yes, by bond Underground all or none x Other beach cities or the county should contribute Yes, but needs to include residential areas but even better if you can reallocate the current budget not in this economy, yes eventually Depends on cost If nothing in the street and sidewalks are not going to be improved I am not for any cost. local - res. area was told residences would have it shortly - 42 years ago when built (arrow to #12) Yes, if overall plan is to do the same for entire island.(arrow to #12) Especially Sunset Beach area and other major thoroughfares How much is a portion? Depends on cost Yes! Let the businesses on Gulf Blvd pay the costs Can't afford - but support the underground utilities look Let the utilities pay for it

I thought we already did! Spending is out of the question. The taxpayers are broke! need more info Let people on Gulf Blvd pay for it. They benefit from it. How much is a "portion" & all the islands need it, too. All of Treasure Island!! It is a safety issue. If every property owner is equitably mandated to do so & the utility cos share some of the cost! The cost could be apportioned to major users & businesses Depending on price. Like the idea very much. Bus.taxes. Why have we torn up our roads 3-4 times already & not done it then? The $ spent in ex #7 should have gone to this project to support our citizens. All utilities should be underground (safety) Would have to know the cost for taxpayers Should have been done when Gulf Blvd was torn up 2 to 3 times 5 yrs ago non-resident at this time THE PEOPLE LIVING ON THE STREET SHOULD SUPPORT THE COST. electrical wires too in neighborhoods only left blank left blank and on islands left blank left blank left blank Don't our taxes already do that? left blank Only if they bury the powerlines on my street left blank How much? Let the major business subsidize this Not necessary. More green - trees camouflage.

Not necessary. More green - trees camouflage. Utility should pay, it benefits from taxes How support? $? Only if cost minimal All of Treasure Island See #8 depends on cost Don't notice them above ground Too costly Make utilities pay for the bulk Not before beach walk complete Blvd Paradise Palms touching electric wires. Electric underground please Why put it under ground? Not if its sole purpose was only aesthetic Depends on assessment & also only if all streets would then be incl. hurricane quality poles preferred City should contribute a portion of the costs

Would you support paying a portion of the cost for undergrounding city/county utilities in neighborhoods? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 410 out of 1038 (39.5%) 2. No - 395 out of 1038 (38.05%) 3. Undecided - 156 out of 1038 (15.03%) 4. Other - 103 out of 1038 (9.92%) Other answers: Don't live on TI Not a resident It depends on the portion if it were a one time fee or a fee that would be lifted when the work is completed ie the TI Causeway bridge Same as above nominal - think the unitlties and cable should bare the brunt from what we are charged Other more important issues to contend to first. need to know more information about cost same as answer in number 11. Lower the CEO bonuses and maintain their lines and improvements. I have to pay my own maintenance. was hoping our high taxes would help to pay for most of it

Depends on how much and length of time to restore utilities after storms compared to now. Isle of Capri needs the power lines burried Must be free from ground water intrusion. No answer provided. If it includes all wiring, phone, electric, cable, etc. No response given. What is the benefit of this? no maintenance has been done on these facilities since Progress Energy took over I have many pictures, rusty transformers, replacing poles and leaving 20 ft stubs in ground all over the place, steel plates at base of rotting poles. No no support. Each neighborhood should pay their own if they want undergrounding I do not live on the island -that should be up to the land owners. Definately on 6th St E and the entire Isle of Capri I think the Lion's share should be paid by utility companies. Maybe a limited time of a surce addition to utility bill! Not on the property tax!! ? Depends on Cat. Again, the neighborhoods/individuals should match public funds on their own streets. yes, but only in my neighborhood. see above. there are many other priorities. not a resident blank within reason Only after all grant and finance options have been exhausted Use the money spent on overtime workers! maybe - how much? left blank same Possible - depends on what incentives residents are given bonds bonds

Maybe Yes, by bond Or other only if every one is having this benefit x but within the current budget need more ino left blank not in this economy, yes eventually Depends on cost bury lines How much? See above and below But only if Gulf Blvd is done first Same answer as above Once all grant money has been exhausted Can't afford portion of costs - but support the underground utilities I thought we already did! Same as #11 need more info How much is a portion? Depends on cost I (sic) includes 117th Ave (2 1/2 blocks) Until economy "recovers" these are superfluous But again costs should be equitably shared and properly mandated on a proportion, average basis Depends on price. Like the idea. Our taxes should be apportioned here too if it eliminates power outages Same as #11 Would have to know the cost for taxpayers

non-resident at this time IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD electrical too Also checked "no" left blank left blank and on islands left blank left blank Same as 11 left blank left blank How much? Progress should pay as they will benefit Support? $? On Sunset Beach Only if cost minimal See #8 but really depends on cost Don't notice them above ground Too costly Beach walk a priority expensive, but underground Same as above depends on amount depends on $ amt of portion hurricane quality poles preffered Mine is already underground.

Do you support the continued raking and grooming of beaches? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

1. Yes - 904 out of 1038 (87.09%) 2. No - 47 out of 1038 (4.53%) 3. Undecided - 31 out of 1038 (2.99%) 4. Other - 90 out of 1038 (8.67%) Other answers: The beach is not a theme park. Let it be ... natural. More beach needs to be raked. still to many weeds. Absolutely but correctly pushing the debris back into the water is not the way to do it the debris needs to be filtered for glass plastic etc and dumped into a dumpster Absolutely necessary! the beach is main resource take care of it Yes, has it ever been considered to make the beach a no smoking area? I see people walk into the water and throw a half smoked cigarette in the water and it just floats away, not to mention the butts on the beach and the smell of smoke drifting around. Beaches look beautiful again! more than ever more &more go much closer to the oasis Very much needed to keep the beach attractive to both residents and tourists growth out to beache like in N. section decreases guests from coming as they have to walk through too much growth, sandspurs and can't see water from lower levels of motel/h

growth, sandspurs and can't see water from lower levels of motel/h not on a daily basis. the beach should remain natural Only near shoreline. I do not support city funding of raking up in front of hotels. Hotels need to pay the expense on their own No, in the sense that it has now made it more difficult to go for walks closer to the shoreline. Rake some of the beach but all of it? dunes should be left to provide a natural barrier to drifting sand and storm protection In certain areas While allowing growth of sea oats and other plantings It does not seem necessary, maybe only occassionally to remove trash. Need discussion regarding vendors or other food service and additional trash that will surely follow biodegradable standards. We don't need sand spurs. What is recommended by EPA? Get closer to the mounds. Absolutely!! Go much closer to the oasis. Get closer. Tourist come to TI for SAND & SEA and not concrete and weeds I also want to add that the team is doing a great job of maintaining a low profile (within reason) prefer natural state except for obvious trash. Don't Care Not grooming. There are numerous environmental studies that shows this is destructive. Targeted and timed herbicide applications are a much better solution. This is a vissioning survey? limited bases Outlaw beer bottles on the beach (broken glass & the metal caps are hazardous) Does any other beach front do this? by volunteers Takes away from grooming in neighborhoods, give equal time to neighborhood grooming. too expensive

If people don't litter, we don't need raking x Grooming tax for property owners of beach front property that benefit from their area w/ city picking up public area portion if within the current budget If not too expensive yes, if you left the shells, etc. on the shore line instead of hauling away Do it less often volunteers Less often We need better raking & grooming. It's our best asset! YES defently (sic) Not so often The only reason tourists visit TI is the beaches Why on a tourist beach would we stop? The current raking is useless. Other than sea oats the weeds are out of control completely obstructing view in which visitors pay to see As long as doesn't interfere with beach grasses & turtle nests & other wildlife public beach only - private bch - Caddy's, Lion's Club etc No Once a week Note: We love our wonderful police & Fire Dept. & hard-working city hall employees and volunteers! Absolutely, tourism is important for economic development Brings tourists and residents Vegetation on the beach is an eyesore. No more growth should be allowed. Very limited - by city only - also, "island" plantings of native - selective plants would limit erosion and beautify the beaches Make the beach always look beautiful The hotels should rake & clean the beach walk.

left blank WE NEED TO BETTER UNDERSTAND AFFECT ON ECOLOGY Yes, but maybe not as often left blank left blank left blank left blank left blank brings coarse sands up pulls or buries starting sea oats. Necessary for tourism. When they do it. It needs to be done daily. This is a tourist site. More garbage bins. Only as needed to get rid of sea weed. Our city employees are already overpaid & underworked. Really? But must retain natural beauty This is necessary But not to limit dune growth I would like to know how it affects wildlife, nesting birds, turtles, crabs, etc. Is it a good thing? Now this is a no-brainer. Of course. shoreline only More needs to be done Very limited areas only If you don't how would you attract visitors to our dirty beach?

Keep the noise down on Gulf (Motor Cycles) Noise Law?? - 2:47 PM, Jul 1, 2010 The number of distressed looking properties are becoming a problem in Paradise Island. Please have city workers take a closer look at homes on a more regular schedule and notify property owners to clean up property. - 2:53 PM, Jul 1, 2010 I live on Sunset Beach and appreciate the presences of the police, weather walking or driving. I would like to see warnings eliminated and just pass out the fines. People know the rules and they still break them. They know they won't get fined and will just get a warning. The tourist needs to respect our beaches as we do. - 9:03 PM, Jul 1, 2010 Keep it a neighborhood! Respect the residents and their right to enjoytheir property. NO MORE OVERCROWDED BEACH BARS -there is TOO much traffic at Caddy's - it has completely ruined the neighborhood. Businesses should have the parking and space for all their customers. Residents should not have to be continually be disturbed by drunk bar patrons. 6:50 AM, Jul 3, 2010

Less harsh permitting process for re-development - 2:59 PM, Jul 3, 2010 more lighting in the area to improve safety in the evenings. - 9:24 AM, Jul 4, 2010 I have never understood why the city would increase building heights in residential neighborhoods and decrease them in commercial areas. Reduce the allowable building heights in our residential area. - 4:03 PM, Jul 6, 2010 1. Redistricting 2. Restoring "period" hotels 3. Sidewalk south of Rosselli on 2nd St. west 4. Reduction of unused, obsolete, unneccesary, oversized or unattractive signage. - 2:41 PM, Jul 12, 2010

Keep the beach parking cost down or back to zero. More green/environmentally friendly ways of managing city. Encourage more residents to participate in recycling. Designate an area for a small dog park. An area in the center of town near the community center could be simply fenced with chain link, trash cans put out, a water spigot and pick up bags. This town is not pet friendly and many people have dogs. - 9:43 PM, Jul 12, 2010 new ideas not rejected by those holding the reins too long. committees need to understand less retirees and more working people now live here. - 10:15 PM, Jul 12, 2010 stricter code enforcement of property maintenance; i.e. yards, shrubs, buildings - 8:30 AM, Jul 13,

Additional islands with trees and plants to break this long corridor up. This will also cut down the speeding of cars. Gulf Boulevard. Palm trees in the medians, like North Redington Beach. We know, that this Blvd. is maintained by the State, but still, we think it is worth an extra effort to plant more GREEN. We have to attract tourists with a better environment, green and more flowers, not by building more throughways to get the people off our island. Tourists like to enjoy the outside, i.e. Ricky T's,and being surrounded by trees and bushes - smaller not bigger streets. - 8:53 PM, Jul 13, 2010 More palm trees planted in all areas - 10:05 AM, Jul 14, 2010 I believe the neighborhoods are fine for the time being except for the vacant/foreclosure homes which are a eye sore. This is not a priority at this time with all the other improvements needed in T.I. - 10:41 AM, Jul 14, 2010 property upkeep is lacking-very junky looking. it hurts the whole look of the neighborhood. its july & some have xmas decorations still up! love the idea of underground powerlines - 12:15 PM, Jul 14, 2010

Prohibit large digital signs along Gulf Blvd. The resorts need to fit in with the low key ambiance that was once the strength of our beach community.Create an atmosphere of environmentally conscious community. Need for cutting and triming. - 8:46 AM, Jul 21, 2010 We need to have move involement from everyone . - 1:08 PM, Jul 21, 2010 Something has to be done about homes that have been foreclosed on or are for sale that are not being maintained. More seating in Rosselli Park area, not in the sun, no one uses them. Water doesn't seem to drain very good off the roads, even though they rec'd some attention recently. All I can think of, remember, you asked! - 1:05 PM, Jul 30, 2010

Please keep Bob Minning away from the southern part of the island. We're a happy lot,Bob on the other hand seems NEVER happy. - 1:39 PM, Jul 31, 2010 We have a beautiful neighborhood. I would like to see if we can partner with St. Pete College to build more tennis courts at Treasure Bay, since they use our site for their tennis team practice. They are highly ranked in the country thanks to Phil Girardi. - 9:50 AM, Aug 5, 2010 Replacing all of the street sign post on the Isle of Palms and putting up the black ones like they have on Paradise Island. - 3:57 PM, Aug 5, 2010 Under ground utilities on Paradise Island Blvd. - 12:35 PM, Aug 7, 2010 As new homes are built, we should be considering the issue of keeping landscaping to Florida friendly -- i.e., requiring less water, less to no fertilizer, etc. - 3:27 PM, Aug 8, 2010 More beautification of our entrance, 1st, 2nd, 3rd st. area. - 6:18 PM, Aug 8, 2010 I would like to see a public park on the northern tip of the island, currently the rock house property owned by Rice Family and similar in style to the adjacent park in MB. - 3:58 AM, Aug 10, 2010

better maintance of beach access areas and more garbage cans code enforcement to enforce all codes even for the Rice properties - 9:03 AM, Aug 12, 2010 I beleive handicaped parking in meter lots should have to pay. Pedestrians must walk in the road. - 9:52 PM, Aug 18, 2010 Eliminate cigarette smoking and leaving buts in the sand. Buts are everywhere. Post BIG signs to help eliminate buts and trash, especially cans, plastics and bottles. Visitors are not respectful of our beaches. Have designated swim areas during high surf seasons. People can't enjoy the beach when surfers are taking up the entire beach. - 10:26 AM, Aug 19, 2010 creative civic and social activities that will get more people involved in their neighborhoods. 2:21 PM, Aug 21, 2010

Keep the low denisty low building restrictions. Keep the "charm" that Treasure Island has developed you can't engineer "charm". - 10:13 PM, Sep 1, 2010

How short-sighted they are in not allowing higher bldgs. I'd vote them out! Can you see the gulf waters over a 5-story bldg? No! Why not get

bldgs. I'd vote them out! Can you see the gulf waters over a 5-story bldg? No! Why not get rid of the blight (Buccaneer site) and allow higher bldgs. I'm sure the landscaping would be beautiful, and there would be suffiecient space on the sides to see through to the gulf. Have no specific recommendations. - 5:55 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Underground city/county utilities in neighborhoods would be my top priority - 10:33 PM, Oct 1, 2010 1 - To have the paving of the neighborhoods done all at once, instead of a few blocks at a time. 2 - underground utitities!! - 7:40 AM, Oct 2, 2010 Enforce codes for boats, trailers, junk cars and other eyesores in yards and driveways.Enforce people to take care of yard and landscaping. - 4:12 PM, Oct 2, 2010 get the utilites underground in this will make it safer during hurricanes. Thi would ensure no poles and lines being blown down during the storms - 10:53 AM, Oct 3, 2010 we would LOVE to see a dog park. actually we would love to see a portion of the beach be a dog beach, but that probably too much to ask for. we live in Isle of Palms and every morning, afternoon and evening we see residents walking their dogs. we walk our dog in the evening and talk with other dog owners about how great it would be to have a dog park!! - 6:14 PM, Oct 6, 2010 Revamp LDRS for the commercial nodes of Sunset and John's Pass to create more walkable/bikeable communities for those neighborhoods where some commercial nearby is supportive of those neighborhoods. Allow small stores, service shops, bed and breakfasts within

medium density neighborhoods. Sunshine and Sunset. - 8:49 PM, Oct 11, 2010 purchase the Suntasia building on Gulf Blvd. and turn it into a parking garage for Sunset Beach and for the rest of TI to use. - 8:51 PM, Oct 11, 2010 The loss of commercial space is a major challenge for Sunset Beach. We need to encourage more small businesses providing neighborhood-level retail services - food, sundries, laundry, eating, drinking, entertainment etc. - places residents can walk or bicycle to. That still requires a parking solution that is better planned, more centralized and maintains the small-scale residential feel of Sunset Beach. We don't need big, upscale resorts; we like the relaxed, funky old Florida feel. But we have less commercial space today than 10 years. - 9:24 PM, Oct 11, 2010 Some free parking like what was taken away at the now vacant city park in treasure island. - 3:24 PM, Oct 17, 2010

sunset beach: After long consideration and several confrontations with drunks. Enforce the codes that we have in place. To many unkempt lots and houses. This was true before the downturn!!! - 12:55 PM, Oct 26, 2010 Let people build! Make property owners take care of their places ~ or make the bank mow a yard if they own the house (Causeway, dumpy house overgrown on the south side ~ disgraceful!) 1:05 PM, Oct 26, 2010

repair the streets starting with Paradise Blvd. - 10:30 AM, Oct 27, 2010 Keep it the same. Isle of Palms. - 6:54 PM, Oct 27, 2010 Perhaps you should consider prioritizing your tax paying residents ahead of business...at least in our residencial neighborhoods. - 11:13 AM, Oct 28, 2010 You need to establish and enforce dock/outdoor lighting limitation ordanances and times on the waterfronts. Our neighbor on 9th St E has a megaWatt dock light that lights up the entire finger when at full power. It is actually painful to look in the direction of that light at night. Our next door neighbors on 8th St E also have very bright outside lights that light up our whole back yard too. There should at least be time limitations during the weekdays and weekends when outdoor/dock lighting cannot exceed a certain level, and it should be strictly enforced. Likewise, you need to crack down on the local dock bulding companies that park their mooring equipment off of 115th St in the common area vice paying to dock it in a commercial facility. It detracts from our community's appearance. There needs to be better patrollign of the publich beach area next to (north of) the Lions Club. It is a drunkfest...worse than Caddy's...and they litter horribly. - 1:29 PM, Oct 29, 2010 WANT UNDERGROUNDING UTILITIES. Have not lived here for very long. - 7:43 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Keep it clean. Streets not swept. Yard waste not picked up. I just had five small tree branches go untouched for four weeks. - 7:50 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Ban leafblowers. The local businesses hire crews of cleanup workers who blow sand randomly around the island. Residential community on TI - 8:03 PM, Dec 2, 2010 My street has curves that can be dangerous for pedestrians, children because of poor visibility speed bump possibly? (Dolphin) - 8:08 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Put money in neighborhood please. - 8:11 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Enforcement of property codes. Street sidewalk improvement.Pave beach parking lots. Underground utilities. - 8:13 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Stronger code enforcement & fines for offenders - 8:16 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Level & resurface 98 Av between Gulf Blvd and First Street East. It is a disaster. - 8:19 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Replace yield signs on side streets with stop signs. Underground utilities throughout all of TI. 7:02 AM, Dec 3, 2010

I'm guessing that the influence of business owners, such as Caddy's, has a better than even chance of continuing to be a neighborhood nuisance. - 7:15 AM, Dec 3, 2010 alteration of privacy height rules between houses - 11:16 AM, Dec 3, 2010 Keep the beach open past dark and finish the beach walkway to Sunset Beach. - 4:57 PM, Dec 6, 2010

Keep the buildings low and limit building sizes - 4:36 PM, Dec 7, 2010 Inforcement of existing laws on beachesand in thge water--DOGS - 7:27 AM, Dec 31, 2010 Government should promote business not supply public money for private profits. I'm tired of paying for politically connected businesses, cronies or insiders. - 5:27 PM, Jan 2, 2011 I think that we need to allow upscale types of resorts/businesses, like the Ritz into TI. Times are changing and we need to move in the same direction and stop holding onto the past. Gulf Blvd businesses should pay for the underground utils, with support given only to mom-and-pop businesses, not chains. - 7:59 AM, Jan 3, 2011 Correct traffic conditions at 104th, 107th and 108th Ave. intersection - Stop signs, Traffic Light or increased Police Servailence for speeding over bridge to intersection. - 10:36 AM, Jan 13, 2011 Transportation to Gulf Blvd, and beaches. What other recommendations do you have for the future of Treasure Island (maximum - 25 words)? There are a total of 1038 Responses to this Question

Two words: Gay Resorts. - 10:03 AM, Jul 1, 2010 Keep the tourist in mind whatever you do - 2:47 PM, Jul 1, 2010 It is important for TI to look again at it's development rules, regulations and stance on new business and permitting for renovating existing commercial properties. The City has a reputation of being anti-business. - 2:53 PM, Jul 1, 2010 Restaurant chains would be nice. More Beach Bars. Something for children to do like game rooms, mini golf, etc. kids restaurant like Chucky Cheese. - 3:22 PM, Jul 1, 2010 Limit where smokers can smoke. The beaches are getting polluted with cigarette butts and many residents can no longer sit on the beach without moving several times to avoid second hand smoke. - 8:18 PM, Jul 2, 2010 Treasure Island does not need more land developed! - 6:50 AM, Jul 3, 2010 Need to move into the current century - 2:59 PM, Jul 3, 2010 continue to improve landscape, look of area. More recreation areas near beaches. Extension of current trail. Like the look and feel of driving into treasure island over the bridge. - 9:24 AM, Jul 4, 2010

Allow eight to ten stories along with increased density for traditional hotel/motel use only along the current hotel row running from 104th ave. north to 119th ave. with required public beach access. Do not allow condos or condo/hotels higher than current standards. - 4:03 PM, Jul 6, 2010 1.Developing the north point ASAP 2. Making TI a destination 3. Increasing waterfront dining 9:49 PM, Jul 6, 2010

promotion of keeping our community upscale by promoting the unique and worthwhile elements - 7:42 PM, Jul 7, 2010

Just to keep even we need to be more flexible when it comes to the business community. - 8:39 AM, Jul 8, 2010

ease the heigth and density restrictions to make our redevelopement plan realistic to investors and private development. - 3:12 PM, Jul 8, 2010 I would like to see Treasure Island become a destination, where all needs are met on the inland so the resisdents and tourist stay and spend their money here. - 8:11 AM, Jul 11, 2010 older hotels that provide the patrons for the shops and restaurants should have the chance to build new facilities that will continue to bring patrons to the area businesses - 10:49 AM, Jul 12, 2010

have lots of beach events - to keep on having lots of people and tourists visiting us - 12:30 PM, Jul 12, 2010

Same as above. - 2:41 PM, Jul 12, 2010

Tear down that old ugly strip center next to Middle Grounds and re-face the one where The VIP, C21, etc are. Dim the lights on the new mega beach store. Very out of place for our quaint little beach town. Please enforce the 20 mph limit as cars enter TI westbound. You could raise lots of money with those speeding tickets! - 9:43 PM, Jul 12, 2010 city manager needs to look more like an executive professional - lose the tennis shoes. update the look of our town without losing the retro nostalgia - 10:15 PM, Jul 12, 2010 We need to get a grip on that mess on Sunset Beach. It is downright shameful. - 8:52 AM, Jul 13, 2010

Treasure Island is a petty neat place to live, right now. Although some of the commercial buildings are a little old fashioned, other than a little "sprucing up", the town looks good - 9:31 AM, Jul 13, 2010

FOLLOW UP ON THE IDEAS AND RECOMMENDATIONS AND DO NOT PAY FOR MORE PLANNERS AND DO "NOTHING" WITH THE PLANS HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE GONE THROUGH NEW PLANS AND IDEAS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE COMMISSIION HAS TO TABLE EVERYTHING AND NOT MAKE DECISIONS - 9:41 AM, Jul 13, 2010 improve the look of our downtown business district - 9:56 AM, Jul 13, 2010 Allow the building of big, tall, beautiful hotels to attract upscale visitors. The current 5 story box look is horrible. This is America, allow development. - 10:13 AM, Jul 13, 2010 There needs to be a sign ordinance to eliminate those cheap storefront signs on the Dollar Store and the other one. How was that ever approved? Especially when they moved two stores over. - 11:13 AM, Jul 13, 2010

Modernize and energize the Chamber of Commerce. Get and be competitive for tourists, business and new residents. Be a model beach community that people aspire to live in. The city must promote itself with a uniform claim to what living, visiting or vacationing in Treasure Island stands for. Who are we????? - 2:02 PM, Jul 13, 2010 Better developement of the downtown area. - 2:43 PM, Jul 13, 2010 move the priority of undergounding the utilities to the bottom of the list and improve the landscaping, street lighting, providing more benches and amenities - 5:32 PM, Jul 13, 2010 I am very concerned that the new store that just opened on the Causeway called Surf Style has merchadise that is not "family" oriented. Some of the bumper stickers and street signs are very objectionable. I have written a letter to the T.I. Chamber of Commerce but have not heard any response. I would hate to see a store like that ruin the wholesome attitude that Treasure Island has always had. - 8:40 PM, Jul 13, 2010 The parking lots in our down-town area should have shade. Plant trees and then the tourists will park their cars in the shade and enjoy the shopping. Their cars are then not boiling hot and they stay longer in a restaurant or just explore our area. Just think of Italy/France/Spain - it is as hot there as it is here and they have many! outside restaurants, protected by bushes and trees from the traffic. And the tourists wander around. - 8:53 PM, Jul 13, 2010 Old motel shacks demolished or renovated to improve the appearance of Treasure Island - 10:05 AM, Jul 14, 2010

For everybody to be supportive to all the questions asked above and move forward to pass the regulations so when real estate turns somebody will come forth and purchase the entire downtown and develop it. Nobody will purchase when there is no regulations on what can be

done. - 10:41 AM, Jul 14, 2010 make it visibly more attractive, better landscaping along gulf blvd. i love our "small town" feel. 12:15 PM, Jul 14, 2010

Public parking is a major issue and needs a comprehensive study for direction and planning. 12:53 PM, Jul 14, 2010

Investigate saving tax payer dollars by outsourcing or combining Building and Zoning departments with other municipalities. T.I. is too small to support those services when they can easily be handled by a consortium of beach communities. - 2:49 PM, Jul 14, 2010 fix christmas lights so they all work,or don't hang them, looks trashy! have better bands at beach events but keep getting the upfront group, they rock! provide a daily drop off at summer camp instead of paying for the full week, some of us just need a day or 2!! - 5:18 PM, Jul 14, 2010 city hall listen to people - 8:17 PM, Jul 14, 2010 We should do more to draw ppl to T.I. like have Irish,Firemans, and classic car weekends. These types of fesitvals sell out hotels, fill restuarants, and allow the stores to sell more merchandise. This would help with the off season and the on going threat of oil. - 10:05 AM, Jul 15, 2010 I think a better job of grooming the beach is in order!! - 11:51 AM, Jul 15, 2010 cet rid of all the dunes and weeds they are an eye sore. - 11:52 AM, Jul 15, 2010 commissioners to listen to people - 12:04 PM, Jul 15, 2010 if you want tourist to come. the beach is your main asset it must be recreational{ fun and games }no vegetation at at mid beach. - 12:19 PM, Jul 15, 2010 Having more things such as festivals to draw more attention to the island. - 1:47 PM, Jul 15, 2010 Continue to focus on bringing people to Treasure Island. Build on what brings people back every year. Is there a way to survey quests? For holiday weekends, we tend to state on the digital advertising trailer "click it or ticket, it's the law", is there a way to state "stop for pedestrians at all crosswalks, it's the law!" instead? It's new for many visitors. 7:35 PM, Jul 16, 2010

More up scale hotels like Radisson. The new Surf Shop looks very nice, now the owners of the shops across the street need to improve their exterior of their building (it is old and needs upgrade). - 8:31 PM, Jul 18, 2010 Bring back the Symphony on the Beach event. - 9:16 PM, Jul 18, 2010 To elect officials who represent the vision to make Treasure Island a "treasure" to both live and visit. Tourist dollars are needed to continue to keep our Island the best it can be. - 11:23 AM, Jul 19, 2010

keep the new festivals on the beach. TI is doing lots more to make our community a pleasant place in paradise!! - 3:55 PM, Jul 19, 2010 The tourist that visit Treasure Island should have the feeling that the residents are conscious of the natural resource, the Gulf of Mexico. The tourist should want to visit Treasure Island because it has an ambiance of a mix of environmentally conscious residents that protect the natural beauty of the beach and a community that shares this philosophy with tourist of like-mind. Treasure Island should not portray a high-resort type of beach city. - 6:41 AM, Jul 21, 2010 More development in the north end of treasure Island. - 8:46 AM, Jul 21, 2010

More events on the beach, similar to bands on the beach, rock around the clock, with parking on the beach for a fee! - 9:47 AM, Jul 21, 2010 Increase density and height to allow re-development of more modern hotels and motel facilities that bring visitors to support our restaurants, shops and downtown area. - 11:11 AM, Jul 21, 2010 increase allowable density & height for redevelopment - 11:12 AM, Jul 21, 2010 Downtown property owners (on the north side of the clock tower) should be required to maintain their property and parking facilities to improve the look of the city overall and hopefully draw new stores and visitors to the beach. - 3:23 PM, Jul 21, 2010 Allow more density as other beaches, That will put life in the city, creat action during and after the development, generate more revenue to the city and ultimetly help our sagging economy 9:40 AM, Jul 23, 2010

Allow more density as other beaches, That will put life in the city, creat action during and after the development, generate more revenue to the city and ultimetly help our sagging economy 9:46 AM, Jul 23, 2010

A convention center for seminars, etc.- more tourist/visitor friendly. - 11:38 AM, Jul 23, 2010 We need to spruce up the island, build new downtown business and beach hotels. Maybe adopt the later bar closings the other cities are doing.Build a free wi-fi for Treasure Island or a lower cost subscription. - 9:26 PM, Jul 24, 2010 Concordance of the business community and the citizens of T.I. - 8:41 AM, Jul 25, 2010 Keep it Respectable, Unique and quaint. Keep drinking allowances on Beach. Clean and orderly. - 5:16 PM, Jul 25, 2010

I think Treasure Island needs more venues that draw tourists and young people to the center of the beach (107 th. area), not more condominiums. Caddy's needs competition to draw people away from Sunset Beach. I also support parking for visitors allowing them access to our beach. I support alcohol consumption on the beach. We need to compete with John's pass and not become a limited access beach like some of the towns to the north. We need to support mom and pop motels if they still exist. - 10:03 PM, Jul 27, 2010 NEED UPGRADING, OR REPLACING EXISTING RETAIL BLDGS ESPECIALLY 107TH & 108TH AVES. WITH LAND & PARKING SO SCARCE NEED A PARKING GARAGE - 1:05 PM, Jul 28, 2010

Keep residential areas free from commercial business, we need some peace at night. Commend the Police Dept for their diligent, watchful eyes on the Island, can't overstate that. - 1:05 PM, Jul 30, 2010

Family friendly, rather than bar friendly makes more sence to me. Children or Kaddy's drunks--you make the choice. - 1:39 PM, Jul 31, 2010 We need to recognize the need for tourism in our city. One person commented that only the developers benifit from new tourism structures. Not so; we get employment possibilities, benefit from taxes and fees, and the tourist dollar, all of which help to lower our property taxes. - 9:50 AM, Aug 5, 2010

Develop the downtown area of Treasure Island and get it going. All of the money and time that was spent on the studies and the designs of the downtown area is going to waste. - 3:57 PM, Aug 5, 2010

I still endorse the last visioning committee of maintaining small town ambiance. I do not want TI to look like St. Pete Beach, Madeira or Clearwater Beach! - 12:35 PM, Aug 7, 2010 the island would be helped if it had regular movies or live shows on the beach at and after sundown -- the drum circle is interesting and certainly inventive, but activities designed to keep young people active and interested would be even better. - 3:27 PM, Aug 8, 2010 Provide more shopping, walking, and eating choices for visitors and residents alike. Make it more of a walking-friendly destination like Duneden, St. Armands, and Naples. - 6:18 PM, Aug 8, 2010 I would like to suggest making Gulf Blvd more pedestrian friendly, i.e., slow down traffic (2 lanes to 1?), add wider side walks, bike lanes, a few benches for sitting, more traffic lights to facilitate crossing street on foot. I believe this would allow people to enjoy the Gulf strip more. - 11:20 PM, Aug 9, 2010

Planners should meet with each civic or homeowners assn. to collect feedback. Assure aestheticly pleasing gateways into TI. - 3:58 AM, Aug 10, 2010 need to preserve the historical motels and stop allowing high rises need to regularly dredge johns pass to stop eroision of beaches. - 9:03 AM, Aug 12, 2010 Beautification with more plants on Gulf Blvd, light fixtures similar to those around the bridges. Treasure Island, downtown area especially around Gulf Blvd looks stark, old and dirty. - 6:59 PM, Aug 14, 2010

We are a small town lets keep it that way - 4:47 PM, Aug 17, 2010 Lower the speed limit on Gulf Blvd. between John's Pass and Blind Pass to 30 mph because so many pedestrians cross there. - 9:52 PM, Aug 18, 2010 Keep TI's small unique community identity. No high rise developments, no increased density. Let TI be different. It's why people come here. We do not want to be a Clearwater, Redington Shores or Madeira Beach. What makes us special is our small town atmosphere. Let's keep our special identity. - 10:26 AM, Aug 19, 2010 As a member of LPA, my real wish is that we can get the downtown redevelopment going and pick thematic construction guidelines. We have lost so many of our older hotels that had real character and some we need to put these in place before we loose any more. - 2:21 PM, Aug 21, 2010

The Bars rule TI. After 20+ years supporting local retail,we buy everything off the island to avoid outside bar patrons. TI not safe anymore. - 8:24 AM, Aug 23, 2010 The beach trail needs to be removated. Check out the beach trail at Clearwater Beach. I like the wall that they use and the lights. It is very pretty. We also need to clean our the dunes and clear out the sandspurs. I attend beach clean-up once a month and the dunes are a source of human debris. The sandspurs are painful when I go into the dunes. - 1:38 PM, Aug 23, 2010 Encourage development of downtown as a destination shopping, restaurant area, and th north end as a tourist resort area. - 10:45 PM, Aug 23, 2010 On Central Avenue entrance, Remove the Everglade Palms and excessive bottle Brush trees and plant some Royal Poinciana's and Royal Palms. Renovate the beach parking lot across from Isle of Palms, it is very outdated looking. - 10:54 AM, Aug 24, 2010 Renovate the shopping plazas in the downtown section. Build a pier that connects to the trail. Update the old snack shop in the beach parking lot across from Waffle house. - 11:41 AM, Aug 24, 2010

We need underground utilities. - 8:28 PM, Aug 28, 2010 Be nice if a bicycle trail connected with the pinnellas trail. - 4:32 PM, Aug 30, 2010 Grow baby Grow - 2:09 PM, Aug 31, 2010 I liked the Saturday art walk at the beach. Perhaps the Farmers market would do well there also. - 6:14 AM, Sep 1, 2010

I would like more sidewalks and better landscaping. - 1:15 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Keep it the way it is. - 1:17 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Make it pedestrian and small vehicle friendly and make that a focus for future changes. - 1:23 PM, Sep 1, 2010

A "day" destination. Transportation options within the city with connection to St. Pete events. No gambling parking. Mixed use downtown. 55+ housing options. Park beach front with stage. - 1:47 PM, Sep 1, 2010

Keep activities thoughout the year. TI doing a good job! - 1:52 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Quaint, quiet, clean and nice coastal cities (small) are getting too far and few between. The day we allow TI to look like Largo/Ulmerton Road, we're gone. No more strip malls. - 1:56 PM, Sep 1, 2010

Thematic design. The old motels and buildings are (were) a treasure. Retro! South Beach for families. - 2:07 PM, Sep 1, 2010 We need to prepare and make Treasure Island a destination. - 2:16 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Leave as much nature as possible. - 2:20 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Same as above. - 2:26 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Widening area around clock in the middle of Central Avenue downtown. No examples given for range of costs or higher-too broad a questionnaire(?)! not specific enough! - 2:39 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Keep the height requirements on the beach to a minimum. - 2:41 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Keep government costs low. - 2:44 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Keep places like Caddy's open. People love to eat out and have local entertainment and things to do. Limit beach erosion. Advertise more. Treasure Island is a beautiful area. - 2:47 PM, Sep 1, 2010

n/a - 2:49 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Stop charging taxes on out of state owners. It is discrimination!! - 2:53 PM, Sep 1, 2010 would like to see the island take a bigger role in recognizing its historic past and make a bigger push for "vintage" tourism. there is a very big niche of travelers looking to stay in affordable and well preserved 1940's to 1960's establishments. this should be a main focus of TI. we dont need to become another Naples nor would it be sustainable. look at downtown St Pete and its struggles! - 3:39 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Must have nice hotels to support retail and restaurants - condo, motel won't do this. - 4:12 PM, Sep 1, 2010

I would like to see casinos along Gulf Boulevard. - 4:15 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Reach people from out of the area to come visit our beach community to insure growth. - 4:19 PM, Sep 1, 2010

More events on the beach. Make this city a destination. - 4:25 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Try some outdoor. Get to _______ downtown like we used to have. - 4:29 PM, Sep 1, 2010 Keep it homey - carry theme of clock tower throughout TI. - 9:15 AM, Sep 2, 2010 Township daycare. - 9:18 AM, Sep 2, 2010 A realistic view of this as a prime residential community not a business locale. The utility bills are outrageous! - 9:26 AM, Sep 2, 2010 Would positively contribute monies for a specific reason and buy vacant beach property and to be kept as open spaces. - 9:29 AM, Sep 2, 2010 Keep development to a minimum. - 9:49 AM, Sep 2, 2010 More welcoming. - 9:57 AM, Sep 2, 2010 More health food or organic food choices. - 9:59 AM, Sep 2, 2010 Acceptance and passage of charter review committee recommendations. - 10:22 AM, Sep 2, 2010 Less expensive liquor license. - 2:25 PM, Sep 2, 2010 More entertainment. - 2:44 PM, Sep 2, 2010 Sand castles, back biggest boardwalk vendors weekends. More trees. - 2:47 PM, Sep 2, 2010 Maintain no dogs on beach. Maintain drinking on beack, no glass containers. - 2:49 PM, Sep 2, 2010

Put us on the map, more advertising, promotion and publicity. Most folks outside of Tampa don't know TI at all. - 10:57 AM, Sep 3, 2010 Don't let us turn into Tiera Verdi or St. Pete Beach. Keep us small and friendly. - 11:03 AM, Sep 3, 2010

Allow more vendors on the beach for rentals of fun things. Public docks and possible water taxi's. More friendly leaders for business. - 11:20 AM, Sep 3, 2010 Make TI more futuristic and profitable. - 1:00 PM, Sep 3, 2010 Take another look at the sheriff's dept. to replace our police. Consider consolidating fire dept. and EMS with other beach cities. Pinellas county doesn't need 23 fire chiefs. - 1:04 PM, Sep 3, 2010

Better ads for our "free events". - 1:08 PM, Sep 3, 2010 Focus on maintaining a balance of residence needs/wants and business development. - 1:12 PM, Sep 3, 2010

Keep better control of any and all illegal aliens that may or work on the island. - 1:15 PM, Sep 3, 2010

Try to help with the upkeep of not so nice businesses. - 1:17 PM, Sep 3, 2010

Get rid of all the dunes or weed patches on the beach. They are an eyesore. - 1:20 PM, Sep 3, 2010

Continued renovation of downtown Treasure Island. - 1:24 PM, Sep 3, 2010 Clean up of properties that are on side streets, run down housing and yards etc. - 1:26 PM, Sep 3, 2010

The commissioners at meetings be less smart -talk less and pay much more attention to the people of TI. - 1:30 PM, Sep 3, 2010 If you want tourist to come the beach is your main asset. It must be recreational. (Fun and games) No vegetation at mid beach. - 1:33 PM, Sep 3, 2010 Let Pinellas County run it - less politicians locally and less egos to feed. - 1:35 PM, Sep 3, 2010 A circle of excellence committee formed to recognize businesses going above and beyond normal practices. - 1:40 PM, Sep 3, 2010 Entertain and encourage large resort evening entertainment, children's activities and adult, day, evenings? - 1:43 PM, Sep 3, 2010 We need chain restaurants to draw tourism/people - Applebees, Ruby Tuesdays, etc. - 1:57 PM, Sep 3, 2010

Control crosswalks - Gulf Blvd. sidewalks. - 2:00 PM, Sep 3, 2010 Build a community for TI residents and keep and preserve the quality of life that we have now. preserve our beaches and wildlife. Keep the speed limit at 35 miles per on the Gulf Blvd. Helps people who ride bikes up and down the gulf to feel safer Thank you - 9:06 AM, Sep 5, 2010 when I go to Treasure Island I like the small town, local, relaxed atmosphere. I do believe the trail needs to be freshened up and made more attractive. Marketing T.I. also needs to be improved. - 8:48 PM, Sep 5, 2010

I think the police need to be a little more tourist friendly and stop with the constant radar gunning on the causeway. If I was a tourist and my entry to the island was welcomed with a ticket, I certainly would not be coming back. - 9:41 AM, Sep 8, 2010 We also love the small, beachy feel of TI and do not want to see too much development that would turn it into a series of high-rises. We would like to see the empty storefronts and restaurants bustling again, though. The newly-built Surf Style on the most visible and prime corner of our town is a tremendous waste of a great location. Also, more upscale boutiques would make TI a destination for more than just the beach. - 12:59 PM, Sep 8, 2010 TI TAXES ARE ALREADY HIGHER THAN MOST. LIMIT SPENDING...A LOT! WE ALREADY HAVE MANY TOURIST FROM OTHER STATES...AND OTHER COUNTRIES. THEY COME FOR SUN, SAND, AND SEA WHICH WE ALREADY HAVE. LET'S WELCOME THEM, KEEP THEM SAFE, AND MAKE EXPLORING OUR ISLAND FUN AND EASY...WITHOUT NEEDING A CAR CONSTANTLY. - 2:46 PM, Sep 8, 2010 I would like to see Treasure Island neighborhoods remain residential. I would absolutely hate to see huge development that creates "concrete canyons". - 5:54 PM, Sep 8, 2010 Create plans for mid-island and downtown development to make our area a more desirable destination. - 4:16 PM, Sep 9, 2010 Change residential setbacks. bring homes closer to the streets. creates much more of a

Change residential setbacks. bring homes closer to the streets. creates much more of a neighborhood feel as well as opens rear yard for more outdoor living - 10:03 AM, Sep 10, 2010 Sponsor fund raising festivals and gala events.Closing certain streets for weekend arts, crafts and food vendors.Example farmers mkt.St.Pete. - 6:19 PM, Sep 12, 2010 keep us safe and quiet Thank you to our police, fire, emergency facilities - 11:38 AM, Sep 15, 2010 We need more retail stores (ie. clothing stores and other trendy outlets) to bring more youthful business to the island. - 5:29 PM, Sep 15, 2010 Like to see one or more national chain hotels that would have reasonable family rates to increase tourism. We definately have to improve, cleanup, and increase the stores on 107th. 9:35 AM, Sep 17, 2010

No more poorly engineered semi-traffic circles which cause wheel mis-alignment and dangers to pedestrians hidden by shrubbery. - 8:09 PM, Sep 27, 2010 Look to other beach towns Sarasota for the low cost ideas on enhancement. - 10:04 AM, Sep 28, 2010

No more condos on Gulf Blvd. - 2:31 PM, Sep 28, 2010 Just need in SPTimes re: Caddy's - also bildz says mabe they can buy Gulf Blvd. Buccaneer property. How disastrous would that be? - 2:44 PM, Sep 28, 2010 Needs to continue to be a small beach type community with only moderate change. - 2:53 PM, Sep 28, 2010

Movie theatre or theatre for the arts-more and better parking. Pretty store fronts to create a village look (like Hilton idea) - 3:13 PM, Sep 28, 2010 Isn't this the third consultant being hired? Wasting city money! Get the design and put it up for a vote to all residents and business. - 3:16 PM, Sep 28, 2010 Make bike lanes safer-more parking-police on bicycles. - 3:22 PM, Sep 28, 2010 Please do not approve buildings like "Sure Style" Especially, with virtually no landscaping. Make centra business district more visually accessible. - 3:24 PM, Sep 28, 2010 A more varied of business area (bakery, gift shops, gallery)Spruce up the alleys and the back fo shops and businesses. - 3:41 PM, Sep 28, 2010 reduce density and allow infrastructure to catch up - 8:27 PM, Sep 28, 2010 Would love to see Treasure Island stay vintage or at least appear that way. Thought the new Surf Style building did not fit in but at the same time, not happy with the shabbiness of the other side (across Central). Keep same vintage design but clean up appearances. Another sore point- Bank of America building needs new paint job!!! Make the businesses consistent but individual. - 8:37 PM, Sep 28, 2010

Preservation of the mid-century modern buildings along Gulf Blvd with incentives for sprucing them up. - 9:23 PM, Sep 28, 2010 We need a parking garage near Gulf Blvd. - 10:40 AM, Sep 29, 2010 None - 10:48 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Sign ordinances-do away with "Dollar Store" type signs. - 10:50 AM, Sep 29, 2010

Make it more pedestrian friendly with many more outdoor tables, benches, try to bring in more stores besides shell shops and tourist shops. - 10:54 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Close off 107th St. at the inersection of 108th and have one big pedestrian mall and parking lot from there to Gulf Blvd. Make 107th a one way west bound and 106th one way east bound. The mall would be upscale all around circle. - 11:01 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Parking garages. - 11:04 AM, Sep 29, 2010 A more inviting area for dining and outside cafe area with luch vegatation. - 11:16 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Continued excellent police protection. - 11:18 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Public Pool. - 11:21 AM, Sep 29, 2010 None I can think of. - 11:23 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Make the beach walk closer. Too far to walk all the way down to water. - 11:25 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Beach parking passes for residents. Continued funding of library. Keep aerobics classes. - 11:29 AM, Sep 29, 2010

Avoid permitting businesses which contribute to undesirable transients being in area. - 11:37 AM, Sep 29, 2010

Mall style shopping area. - 11:45 AM, Sep 29, 2010 I like that Treasure Island is low key and would be happy to keep it that way. - 11:49 AM, Sep 29, 2010

Community pool. - 11:59 AM, Sep 29, 2010 Environmently aware. Keeping duration of our dunes, etc. - 12:12 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Keep it pure! Not to much commerce. - 12:18 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Parking. - 12:43 PM, Sep 29, 2010 More parking, the rest is great. - 12:44 PM, Sep 29, 2010 No more condos - 4:45 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Don't change the old florida atmosphere too much. - 4:58 PM, Sep 29, 2010 More festivals. - 5:00 PM, Sep 29, 2010 More hand caf. - 5:02 PM, Sep 29, 2010 More affordable resort for handicaped and seniors. Rates now keep us out. - 5:04 PM, Sep 29, 2010

Keep the charm of the old hotels, don't turn into another typical florida beach town. - 5:09 PM, Sep 29, 2010

Pursue support of businesses. Limit alcohol consumption on public beaches. Reconfigure Sunset Beach to permit parking on street. Our building dept. has a negative reputatioin for construction. - 5:12 PM, Sep 29, 2010

Keep sand sculptures on beach. Keep drun circle etc. Keep activites etc. - 5:14 PM, Sep 29, 2010

Work with hotel (motel) owners on perspective buyers allowing them to build (renovate) profertable TI was build as a resort area. - 5:17 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Exception should be made to the 4 story limit on hotels on a project by project boses. Bring in more people and tax money. Need something permanent on the Island for the kids. We lost the fun center and putt putt. Keep all activities for the kids, sandcastle and kites etc... - 5:23 PM, Sep 29, 2010

Police need to calm down. Too many reduce force. TI is becoming a well known speed trap. 5:26 PM, Sep 29, 2010

None - 5:27 PM, Sep 29, 2010 If we dont change the city charter to allow elected officials to do there job. This town hall stays the same. - 5:31 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Recreate downtown. - 5:32 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Use local businesses for all city chamber events. Support your local businesses. - 5:34 PM, Sep 29, 2010

Add a commissioner to represent downtown area and beaches. - 5:39 PM, Sep 29, 2010 1985-Largest Sandcastle Event. - 5:42 PM, Sep 29, 2010 More restaurants. More area for children. - 5:44 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Make Treasure Island a beach mecca where individuals and families can come to and have something to do. Relax, shop, eat have a good time without haveing to go off the island. More parking. T.I should be a hub fo beach life. - 5:47 PM, Sep 29, 2010 None at this time. - 5:49 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Other than the beach, there is no reason to visit T.I. We need family friendly soures of entertainment. There is nothing for visiters to do when here. - 5:55 PM, Sep 29, 2010 Don't over build with high rises - 10:33 PM, Oct 1, 2010 Beautification. - 7:40 AM, Oct 2, 2010 move the TI management headquarters to community center lot and elevate and make hurricane proof as much as possible. This would modornize the city. Evaluate staff requirments and eliminate positions that are not necessary. ie, Cheif of Police for starters. - 10:53 AM, Oct 3, 2010 we love to support the local businesses! keep a common design theme for the shopping areas, keep the building height to a minimum(!!!) NO on a resort - everyone who lives and vacations to TI LOVES the small town feel. maybe a new marketing campaign to "update TI." call me for that, i have years of branding experience 727-289-3839. and how about a better organized friday market??? more like the Saturday Market in St. Petersburg. be selective on vendors, actively solicit good ones and make it a diverse group of vendors. i went to most of the friday markets last year and the vendors were sub-par.... - 6:14 PM, Oct 6, 2010 Focus on design and sustainability in the face of sea level rise, stronger hurricanes, strategic retreat from the coasts, increasing energy costs, decreasing water supply, increasing utility costs, sewer, solid waste and stormwater fees, and lack of insurance on the beaches. We want to be here 50 years from now and big box development is not flexible enough and are codes do not contain the appropriate incentives for good sustainable design. If we cannot learn to live within the changing environment and embrace it, we will lose our "Treasure" shortly. - 8:49 PM,

within the changing environment and embrace it, we will lose our "Treasure" shortly. - 8:49 PM, Oct 11, 2010

I think we should utilize the downtown beach for more and better events. World class food festivals, music festivals, Gulf seafood promotions and tastings, educational events, etc. - 8:51 PM, Oct 11, 2010

First, a better survey; this reads like it was written by a committee driven by the pet projects of individual members. An upscale resort? Moving City Hall? Underground utilities? Really? These are the most important issues facing us? Yet no questions about the fundamentals of a community! Parks? Playgrounds? Fire and police services? Transportation? Parking? Garbage, sewer, water, taxes? Do people like TI as it is and if not, what do they want? You won't find out with this survey. Start over. - 9:24 PM, Oct 11, 2010 There are properties on Lagoon Lane that should be condemned. I would recommend that the city of TI seek out ways to encourage the owners of these properties to demolish or renovate these properties. - 11:51 AM, Oct 13, 2010 Today we decided to visit your so called beaches and found even the shopping areas charges you to park and the beach parking was also another charge you have destroyed what we all have traveled to Florida for years to enjoy and have decided to never return to your area because there are to many high rise buildings and the old moteles have all been taken out for the greedy big buiseness people and the rich. Yours Truely Diana - 8:32 PM, Oct 16, 2010 My family came to visit the beach and Treasure island, we could not find one free parking spot and went home extremely upset enough to write this info. Comments welcome call me. Paul Green 727-612-6209 - 3:24 PM, Oct 17, 2010 Transfer police to county sheriff. Charge bars extra money for police protection. - 12:28 PM, Oct 19, 2010

Maintain it's unique character; tearing down the Buccaneer indicated a lack of recognition about what made this island special; there is still much left to be saved, not torn down so that this will look like every other beach in Florida - 10:32 AM, Oct 21, 2010 Make a law that would check safety and cleanliness of all Motels/hotels/B&Bs in Treasure Island. Perhaps an inspector from the Chamber, before issuing licences.Check the comments on Trip advisor for these premises and you will get the picture.I.E Ebb Tide Motel!!!!!!! Thank You Ian Niagara-on-the-Lake Canada - 1:44 PM, Oct 25, 2010 Find a way to have controlled taller buildings in zones. Every since that passed the city came to a stand still. That was before the downturn. A few people ruined this city. Many that they got to vote are probably gone and may have been renters. They lied and scared the residents. I had people tell me that I would have a 20 story building next to me in the single family area of the Island. Lies. The same people then moved on to ruin St.Pete Beach!!! I hope a few don't continue to have us in the dark ages. - 12:55 PM, Oct 26, 2010 Don't let a few people run the city. - 1:05 PM, Oct 26, 2010 I would like to see Treasure Island operated with fiscal restraint and taxes and fees lowered to reflect the actual needs. Our local Government is out of proportions for a Community it's size. - 10:30 AM, Oct 27, 2010 Keep height where it is. The only issue in building is how much people pay for the property. If height and density is limited prices will be less than if height and density are increased. So, the argument that people won't build because there is not enough height and density is a false premise. people will pay for the property what it is worth based on height and density that is permitted...no more and no less. In essence keeping height and density lower does not affect

permitted...no more and no less. In essence keeping height and density lower does not affect whether hotels choose to build here, only how tall they are. - 6:54 PM, Oct 27, 2010 Fire the city manager and city planner - 11:13 AM, Oct 28, 2010 Do not raise building height limits. Consider moving town hall/police dept to the park area by Publix and turning that land into a family-friendly entertainment area. Create an entrance into the shopping center with Bristol Cleaners from the alley that runs behind McDonalds. Replace the Waffle House with a more upscale, attractive, business. - 1:29 PM, Oct 29, 2010 DO NOT MAKE A CITY OF TI. KEEP IT BEACHY,NEAT AND PEACEFUL - 12:18 AM, Oct 30, 2010

Have a ballot question that asks whether voters would support a slight increase of density in the resort areas of TI, or if they would not support it, have increases of property taxes to makeup for the loss of tax base that these hotels provide. Have city mgr talk of hotel cos to fine out what minimum is needed. Quit fooling around and start the rehab of the beach trail. You could do it on a five year plan where $ are allocated one year (and one section of the trail)at a time and spread the cost over that five year time. - 10:42 AM, Oct 30, 2010 We need more tourist exposure so our Mom and Pop hotels don't have to resort to renting to "locals" for a pittance, thereby ensuring the spiraling decline of our island. - 12:02 PM, Oct 30, 2010 This survey needs to be limited to one per resident. - 12:21 PM, Oct 31, 2010 The northern end of the island could support a large brand name resort. This could bring new visitors which we need. - 12:44 PM, Nov 2, 2010 Would like to see some retaurants added that cater to "Breakfast" customers (like Robbie's Pancake Restaurant used to). - 8:21 AM, Nov 4, 2010 n/a - 6:12 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Stay quaint (not equal sign) with accessible beaches NOTE from Joyce: age left blank, but had to complete in order to submit - 6:18 PM, Nov 4, 2010 no comment - 6:20 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Vision 10+ yrs from now. Don't plan for the immediate future. More activities & events for residents & businesses. Enhance economic development. - 6:23 PM, Nov 4, 2010 marina @ Treasure Bay - 6:26 PM, Nov 4, 2010 For it to be awesome - 7:24 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Allow the elected to do their job. A minor resident complaint is blown out of proportion. - 7:30 PM, Nov 4, 2010

Close Central Ave. One-way circulation north and south of Central - 7:32 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Be sure to insure beach renourishment - we really need it. - 7:35 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Keep building to minimum, not to overcrowd, leave some space. Load up on landscape, lush & green. - 7:38 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Rebuild downtown; allow hotels to build taller than 5 story building to increase density. - 7:40 PM, Nov 4, 2010

Make it a cute town like Santa Fe, NM; market it together with other local beach towns. - 7:43 PM,

Nov 4, 2010

Do not allow bicyclists to ride on the sidewalks. Require that bicyclists comply with stoplights, stop signs, etc. - 7:46 PM, Nov 4, 2010 We need a card shop! There is really nothing on the Island except Publix and Walgreens for the residents. - 7:49 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Underground lines, underground lines, & underground lines. This is 2010, get it? - 7:54 PM, Nov 4, 2010

None - 7:55 PM, Nov 4, 2010 None - 7:57 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Be more development friendly and open to good ideas from outside gov't. - 8:01 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Make it more friendly to the average person not only to the rich. Bring back the police foot patrol or bike patrol where they can mingle with the real people. - 8:08 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Get rid of police & contract PCS. promote more beach vendors. - 8:12 PM, Nov 4, 2010 Maintain small town atmosphere. - 8:15 PM, Nov 4, 2010 perhaps repurpose one of the vacant lots from hotel teardowns on gulf blvd as a small open space park - 3:10 PM, Nov 5, 2010 more stores that permanent residents can shop locally - 7:05 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Get rid of rehab houses - they are a huge problem and no plus for Treasure Island - 7:13 PM, Nov 7, 2010

Renovate/maintain store fronts on Central - 7:16 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Same as above - 7:22 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Keep "low key" attract tourists without being too commercial. - 7:25 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Promote retail/commercial growth & renovations - 7:36 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Newer hotels? - 7:40 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Develop area below Gaters into a "destination for boaters" like Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda - 7:45 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Maintain the local charm - 7:46 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Resolve crosswalk issues - such a danger - 7:52 PM, Nov 7, 2010 Small beach area for dog park - 11:55 AM, Nov 9, 2010 No further building - 11:58 AM, Nov 9, 2010 No new laws! Enforce some we have. - 12:03 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Sensible beach themed growth - 12:08 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Find more parking for Caddy's patrons - 12:12 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Surcharge alcohol - 12:14 PM, Nov 9, 2010

Make bike/walking trail along all beaches - 12:20 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Keeping it as nice as it is now - 12:22 PM, Nov 9, 2010 It would be wonderful to have a boardwalk such as Ocean City, New Jersey, and an amusement park - don't you agree? - 12:28 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Keep the tennis courts in better repair - 12:32 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Better maintenance of Treasure Bay Tennis Courts. Better user-friendly system for Tennis at Treasure Bay. - 12:34 PM, Nov 9, 2010 No tall buildings on the beach - 12:44 PM, Nov 9, 2010 No more tall buildings on the Gulf side. Put the taller buildings to the east and they will have a nice view of the Gulf & Bay while the rest of us can possibly still see the Gulf. - 12:48 PM, Nov 9, 2010

This is nothing more than a fleecing of the residents so that you can line your pocket (arrow pointing to Mary Maloof's name) - 7:09 PM, Nov 9, 2010

Less condos development more environmental spaces untouched - 7:10 PM, Nov 9, 2010 More free food - just kidding! - 7:17 PM, Nov 9, 2010 To continue to appreciate its people and to be fair to our children when they make mistakes, not severely punish them. - 7:20 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Make it a tourist stop & hotels cater to families - 7:22 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Stop spending our money for private people - 7:26 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Keep taxes low! - 7:30 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Keep density laws intact - 7:33 PM, Nov 9, 2010 More tourism - 7:35 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Bicycle racks at public beaches - 7:38 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Casino on vacant space - good for tourism - 7:41 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Move out of the 1950's, attract more upscale hotels/restaurants, consider municipal financing for projects - 7:47 PM, Nov 9, 2010 We should close bars at 2 a.m., any later just encourages drunk driving - 7:56 PM, Nov 9, 2010 Modernize process to continue. Consolidate all services to eliminate duplication and waste. - 7:30 PM, Nov 16, 2010 The "small town" community feeling is unique to T.I. Let us work on that feature. We do not need a "Clearwater Beach" configuration! - 7:33 PM, Nov 16, 2010 We don't want a St. Pete Beach or Clearwater fast-pace, busy-ness. We like our small town, laid back community. - 7:37 PM, Nov 16, 2010 To have an enforceable voice ordinance that even GATORS must adhere to. - 7:41 PM, Nov 16, 2010

TI is a lot better than St. Pete Beach and Madeira. Let it be as is. - 7:45 PM, Nov 16, 2010 None - 7:53 PM, Nov 16, 2010 Place the police dept. under the county sheriff's jurisdiction. Why would you want an upscale resort when you have nice motels here now. And they are not full. I thought you people wanted to keep it a one of a kind city, not like Clearwater or St. Pete Beach. Just my thoughts. - 9:16 AM, Nov 17, 2010 Give the bridge to the state if possible. Don't turn Treasure Island into St. Pete Beach or Miami. - 9:27 AM, Nov 17, 2010 The light rail train from Orlando to come along central to Biltmore & Thunderbird would be a huge boost for tourism for T.I. & St. Petersburg downtown. - 9:29 AM, Nov 17, 2010 Make this a family friendly destination. Get a hotel chain to locate here - 10:15 AM, Nov 17, 2010 Stop catering to the trouble makers on Sunset Beach - 9:05 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Brochure on TI, statistics, demographics, why should like here, activities, lower taxes - 9:07 AM, Nov 18, 2010

A house on Treasure Lane has been an eyesore for a long time - the city should cut grass & put a lien on the house esp since it's on the entrance to the city - and future eyesores. - 9:13 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Parking in front of shops looks ugly - any new retail develop should have main parking behind shops at shops at sidewalk frontage - wish we could do it with current shops - would create nicer "walking environment." - 9:21 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Support "Mom & Pop" motels - for average middle income families. Get back miniature golf - too many empty fancy condos. Think of middle income families and tourists. - 9:24 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Just, please keep it economically feasible for us to continue to live here. Keep it family oriented - 9:47 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Height restrictions - definitely! Well-planned development - do not block Gulf & water views 9:50 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Increase speed limit on T.I. causeway to 30-35 mph until 1st St E (Going west toward Gulf Blvd) - 9:56 AM, Nov 18, 2010

No more development - 10:14 AM, Nov 18, 2010 It's a pretty great place already. It just looks old & tired in some areas & could use a "updating" of businesses/buildings. - 10:19 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Monitoring upkeep of residential and commercial properties. Keep the small town ambiance! 10:23 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Allow an upscale resort to bring tourist. Make T.I. a destination. - 10:25 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep it a neighborly beach town - no high-rise hotels. - 10:27 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Need more green zones along Gulf Blvd - too much pavement. - 10:29 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Speed up Madiera Bch is leaving us behind! - 10:32 AM, Nov 18, 2010 A traffic light @ Publix (I've seen too many close calls). Too many "street people" using all beach facilities, drunk walking in traffic. You don't see this in other beach communities to our north. 10:37 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Maintain its small town beauty - like parades, Santa Claus, etc. Bell/clock tower. - 10:41 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Keep it the same. No beach people sleeping in mangroves on Sunset Beach - 10:43 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Revitalization is needed. T.I. is dead. Need new businesses! - 10:44 AM, Nov 18, 2010 I would like to see more retail stores in the downtown area. - 10:47 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Change the 100' setback code for buildings on 107th Ave. - 10:50 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Encouraging more upscale businesses - 10:52 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Wait till the country get back on its feet if possible - 10:54 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep small town feel. It sets us apart from other beach communities & outlaw public drinking on

Government collects taxes on our lots 50 X 100' then creates easements for utilities then collects a franchise fee. We also pay (double taxation and requires us to maintain it. - 11:13 AM, Nov 18, 2010

I support progress - but I hate these pastel multicolor paint jobs - looks like a "circus" takes away from the suffistication (sic) of the city. PS When you put up all your Christmas lights - can someone PLEASE make sure they actually work. - 11:25 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Less tourist shops - more shops that residents can use. Encourage retail owners to improve the fronts of bldgs at their expense. - 11:31 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Retain the character of the town. Re-do the shopping center more T. Is ish. - 11:35 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Put food vendors on the beach - 11:39 AM, Nov 18, 2010 More businesses true tourist destination. Create a beach front community similar to Mount Dora downtown area. (a lake side community) Check out www.whattodoinmountdora.com or a Key West vibe. - 11:46 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep our city small. Do not turn T.I. into another St. Pete Beach. - 11:51 AM, Nov 18, 2010 Get rid of Spring breakers. - 11:55 AM, Nov 18, 2010 The beaches - keep them clean - spotless - activities on beaches bring people. - 11:59 AM, Nov 18, 2010

Too many employees. Cut the size of government. - 12:02 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Bike lanes. Keep out tall condos & businesses - ruins the beauty of Treasure Island - low impact facilities. - 12:04 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Satisfied as is. - 12:05 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Change height rules for designated areas! Get hotel motel taxes from empty properties. Become more friendly to builders. - 12:09 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Grow & develop instead of old school do nothing w/ no progress or development allowed! - 12:12 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Limit bridge opening to on the hour and half hour. - 12:13 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep the beach competitive, rake it, clean it, and get rid of the garbage growth. - 12:18 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Treasure Island beach needs to be taking better care. I would like to see sand. - 12:20 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Clean up Gulf Blvd private properties - 1:46 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Are we allocating funds for maintaining our new bridge. Do we need our own expensive police force? - 1:48 PM, Nov 18, 2010 1) Beautification of beach front properties such as making it easier for business to renovate. 2) Beach trail "wall" renovated. - 1:54 PM, Nov 18, 2010 This is a beach community with residential neighborhoods - they arrived after the motels - keep the businesses viable so our taxes will remain low. - 2:00 PM, Nov 18, 2010 We need a stricter policy in regards living in T.I. and maintaining the property in T.I. City should have zero tolerance for breaking the city code and maintenance. Enforcing "no solicitation" in T.I. - 2:03 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Quality shops (not junk "t" shirt) good dress attire. - 2:08 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Pedestrian crossing very bad. Tourist should not have to worry about cars. - 2:10 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep Mom & Pop businesses, and Key West style flavor near the beaches. - 2:15 PM, Nov 18, 2010

None - 2:19 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Clock tower area businesses old and disgusting - 2:22 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Build a boardwalk the entire length of the beach - 2:23 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Maintain streets and beaches to common standards. - 2:25 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Don't bring up height & density again! The residents already voted this down in a land slide. It is an insult to ask again. - 2:28 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Re-establish a toll bridge on the causeway - keeps the riff-raff out better. TI should be a residential community - no spring break craziness! - 2:31 PM, Nov 18, 2010 With the pending projects please assure us that we can safely evacuate in case of any disaster or emergency from Capri Isle. Thank you for allowing us this input. - 2:34 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Increase in height & density enough to attract big name hotels! - 2:36 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Dances on Saturday nights for older people. - 2:38 PM, Nov 18, 2010 2 words. MASTER PLAN and stick to it! - 2:40 PM, Nov 18, 2010 We need to make it so someone will come in & spend $ to build some nice resorts in certain areas in T.I. Make it work. - 2:41 PM, Nov 18, 2010 We need to maintain a small beach community, not develop a "South Beach" crowded community. - 4:11 PM, Nov 18, 2010 No need for "upscale resort." Do not want changes to height and density. Required recycling for businesses and residential. All restaurants/bars should recycle. - 4:13 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Repair roadways and fix up areas with landscaping. - 4:15 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Need to have containers (especially on Sunset Beach) for recycling aluminum cans, & plastic bottles - St. Armand's Key does this & it is easy - just provide containers (specially marked). 4:21 PM, Nov 18, 2010

We have the name - use it - there are a few pirate/treasure motels left! Make it a destination (like St. Augustine = old city, Venice Beach, Calif = a fun, outside activities city, Carmel, Calif = quaint etc) - 4:26 PM, Nov 18, 2010 New retail bldgs (across from Thunderbird) - lighting too bright! We need a more upscale sign to welcome people to T.I. The pirates (sign & sculpture) need to go. Parks and causeway are beautiful and the pirates are just weird. - 4:31 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Look at Venetian Isles or other areas...no broken "eye sore" mail boxes. Great idea to have these visioning surveys. - 4:35 PM, Nov 18, 2010 More height and density. If we don't have more and bigger hotels, we don't get tourists. No tourists means higher taxes. The motels are practically giving away rooms and we are getting more & more low end visitors. Our town is dying!!! - 4:37 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep small town atmosphere. Limit government & spending - 4:42 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep us a small town. Simple stores - tourists go to John's Pass & mall or downtown. Beach events are great, then people should just leave & go away. - 4:44 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Access areas when boating in the Gulf of Mexico to the beach. This would help business on the beach and fun too! Thank you. - 4:46 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Ban alcohol use on the beaches. - 4:47 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Consistency in cross walks - on Gulf Blvd!!!! ie: some have flashing, flags, bricks - all need to be the same and need to be more visible. - 5:04 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Having an election would be nice. How long has it been, mayor, council, etc. - 5:05 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Quiet, upscale, tasteful, (non-congested), community atmosphere, but with mix of beach, bars & entertainment day & night (till 12am at latest). - 5:12 PM, Nov 18, 2010 See above - 5:13 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep going the way you have been. - 5:15 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep up the good works with all the events, Facebook sites with YouTube videos to let the world know how beautiful we are! Great City, lovely job being done by all city police, fire & the entire community. Lovely job, thank you! - 6:14 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Stop trying to "grow" T. Island. The size is why many became residents. If you want strip malls, fast-food every corner and sky-high apt/condo bldgs - move to Clearwater or Tampa. We like the small-town appeal of Treasure Island - as is! - 6:20 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Other than beach - there is no reason to come to TI - we need entertainment facilities for visitors - particularly for children & young adults. - 6:22 PM, Nov 18, 2010 After tallying all responses to put all proposed changes on a city-wide referendum to determine a majority of residents are in favor of proceeding, and not just a "committee" or city commission decides! - 6:29 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Don't get too concerned with catering to the affluent as some businesses have. - 6:33 PM, Nov 18, 2010

2010

No height of buildings over 3 stories. Better beach clean up. - 6:36 PM, Nov 18, 2010 There are only a couple patches of dilapidated residences on Gulf Blvd near John's Pass east side and going south around Island Inn. Hello Mary. Thanks for asking. - 6:39 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Same - 6:40 PM, Nov 18, 2010 We moved to TI because it was not touristy like Clearwater. Keep it quaint - but update it. Support locally owned businesses. - 6:43 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Lets keep it family friendly community with easy access to the beach for everyone. No high rise buildings at all. - 6:45 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Promote tourism $'s & keep our small town image. Promote family friendly. - 6:52 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Curb recycling pickup in condos. Less overall development - too much concrete already. - 6:56 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Updating many of the business store fronts. - 6:58 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Bike lane. I don't think T.I. can handle many more car traffic. It is actually dangerous to walk or ride a bike & drive. - 7:00 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Please do not sell out to the development community - 7:02 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Buy the property opposite the 7-11 at West Gulf Blvd & Gulf Bl. Expand the park & make some parking for us. - 7:04 PM, Nov 18, 2010 I think Treasure Island leaders should consider allowing dogs on the beach during certain hours & during certain months. North Carolina beaches & South Carolina beaches have this policy. It works. - 7:06 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Keep as a quiet resort town. - 7:09 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Current set up of speed traps enforced by over zealous police does not welcome tourists and guests. - 7:16 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Continue to improve the overall appearance of downtown area. Make the north side as nice or better than south. We like the improvements made but would like more. - 7:18 PM, Nov 18, 2010 104th thru 108th and north end (Rice property). These should be special zones with little limit on height & density and need professional input - they should be the draw and the commercial pride of T.I. (Signature at bottom illegible) - 7:24 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Repave parking lot in front of post office, etc. area. - 7:25 PM, Nov 18, 2010 We need more tourist venues. We need to attract tourists (families). Entertainment & family fun things. - 7:27 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Love family/tourist friendly businesses and activities - 7:28 PM, Nov 18, 2010 More dock space for boats behind 108th to dock-n-shop. Dog park with a yearly charge tag; bars open til 3; one day garbage pick-up save money and use it develop T.I. - 7:32 PM, Nov 18, 2010 I would like to see controlled business growth in designated areas. - 7:36 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Increase density to allow hotels to build higher to increase tourism. - 7:38 PM, Nov 18, 2010

Public transportation from public beaches & downtown TI to downtown St. Pete. Starbucks in Publix complex & outside tables to eat & view beach. Ditto Einstein bagels. - 7:40 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Sewers need replacing. Better landscaping, more flowers. - 7:42 PM, Nov 18, 2010 Thank you asking our input. (Age left blank - input over 65) - 7:46 PM, Nov 18, 2010 #9 - a coherent look, upscale - 7:48 PM, Nov 18, 2010 New club house at Treasure Bay. - 7:50 PM, Nov 18, 2010 There are enough hotels, especially big ones. I have been coming to Treasure Island for 48 years, and do not want to see it trying to become a large city in a small island. Keep the atmosphere that has kept people coming there and sending family and friends there for years. 8:23 AM, Nov 23, 2010

KEEP TI AS A BEACH COMMUNITY FOR THR RESIDENTS NOT FOR THE HOTELS OR BUSINESSES. - 6:39 PM, Dec 1, 2010 Family oriented festival in fall. Support of new business. - 9:33 PM, Dec 1, 2010 re-do store fronts - 9:45 PM, Dec 1, 2010 Bike trail - preserve all present parks - 9:50 PM, Dec 1, 2010 To promote tourism to the capacity we are currently capable of accommodating - 9:54 PM, Dec 1, 2010

Bring in tourists by increasing TI appeap (sic) - 2:02 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Continue to create new & get rid of old - 2:05 PM, Dec 2, 2010 No more bars - 2:31 PM, Dec 2, 2010 more family entertainment - 2:38 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Walking clock tower mall. Round about then one way streets at St. James intersection. - 2:40 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Plant more trees! Attract favorite businesses in downtown area (Starbuck's, Mochi, etc) to catch folks coming through. Keep hotels small, yet high quality. Soft lighting! No more big ugly, garish, square touristy buildings! Waterfront spots for boaters to stop at. Better communication between city gov't and residents to discourage apathy. - 2:44 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Renovate the shopping area north of the clock tower. "Needs a new face" - 2:48 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Beach paved trail needs upgrade - use of the park for concerts/jazz, etc. - 2:51 PM, Dec 2, 2010 More family entertainment - 2:55 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Figure out downtown - 4:44 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Reduce staff. Too many people. You see 3 or 4 people trimming hedges or weeding. - 4:50 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Boat ramp trash needs to be addressed. Sea grass and other water debris are not cleaned up. A maintenance schedule is needed. - 4:52 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Everything in TI is geared for tourists - I am a 44 year Beach resident - shop elsewhere and dine elsewhere - TI is convenient for interstate & major malls. - 4:54 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Develop near the pass to make it a boating destination like Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda. - 4:56 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Keep the 50ies look and make another South Beach like Miami. People like the look & feeling. 4:58 PM, Dec 2, 2010

More public parking. Perhaps a parking garage for beach goers. (Pay parking) - 5:03 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Turn the downtown to a destination like Panama City Beach. Like a big town square w/ a park in the middle and businesses all around. - 5:05 PM, Dec 2, 2010 See my notes. Hire a designer. make a theme - stick to it. Zone signage to conform to design. Fix what we have. The original vision/buildout for TI was created by the Corey Ave/St. Pete Bch designer (Forget his name!) He had a color pallet - plants & buildings, Key West scale. Not Tuscan ridiculous. Look at Corey Ave - unified, lovely walking village. - 5:12 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Higher tax on tourism. Lower tax for full-time residents. - 5:14 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Stay a small town. - 5:15 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Keep the current recreation beverage for responsible adults. - 5:16 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Take a look at Hermosa Beach, CA for a great redevelopment of a beach that was similar to TI in the early 90's. - 5:21 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Diverse retail - not just for tourists! - 5:24 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Fun classes for seniors & adults. What do you have to offer to just residents? - 5:34 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Modest to up-scale retail shops so we can support businesses here on TI and not have to go to the mall. - 5:36 PM, Dec 2, 2010 A complaint I always hear is the length of our beach before getting to the water. People prefer St. Pete Beach because of it. - 5:38 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Leave ambiance of small beach community. This would make us unique where as every has development (sic). It would keep us unique from all other communities. - 5:41 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Start arresting pedestrians who don't use the myriad of crosswalks and dare motorists to hit them. - 5:42 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Add to ordinance for dogs - "to be walked atg the grass strip between the street and sidewalk. A disease (leptospirosis) from dog urine can be transferred to humans. Thanks for asking. - 7:28 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Many school buses ride around with one or two students. Can't we use a van in some areas? 7:30 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Allow business more flexibility for development of their lots. - 7:32 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Do whatever is required to bring local Florida (St. Pete) people to our town and beach. A cit marina for transients and short time live-aboards would bring boaters here, i.e. Gators. - 7:36 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Support tourism. I'm pretty sure that is what built this city. - 7:50 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Barrier islands continually turn themselves over, so it is vital for the island to be renourished regularly & we need to create more sand dunes. - 7:54 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Shapes, antique village - 7:58 PM, Dec 2, 2010 On question #9 - Will someone tell me what "thematic" means? - 8:01 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Reinstate toll booth. - 8:03 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Represent your district not the wishes of those who are here strictly for their own profit. - 8:06 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Our town needs consistent & "live" entertainment. Folks just won't come to eat. - 8:16 PM, Dec 2, 2010 Spend money to make money. Buy Buccaneer property - build parking garage and shops. - 8:22 PM, Dec 2, 2010

Remove police dept.Bring in sheriff dept. saves over $1M per year. Remove round about and speed bumps. Both are traffic hazards. - 7:02 AM, Dec 3, 2010
