Glass cooktops

Sugary spills and melted plastic

Heavy, burned-on residue

• Turn off all surface units and remove hot pans • Wear an oven mitt and use the razor scraper to move the spill to a cool area on the cooktop • Remove the spill with paper towels • Any remaining spillover should be left until the surface of the cooktop has cooled • Do not use the surface units again until all residue has been completely removed

• Allow the cooktop to cool • Spread a few drops of CeramaBryte®* over the entire burned-on area • Hold a razor scraper at approximately a 45º angle against the ceramic glass surface and scrape soil • Keep small amount of cream on the residue as you scrape • After scraping, use the scrub sponge to remove any remaining residue • For additional protection, after all residue has been removed, polish the entire surface with the CeramaBryte® and a paper towel

Metal marks and scratches • Remove using a cleaning cream with scrub sponge and/or razor scraper • Any discoloration on the cooktop should be removed immediately before heating again or discoloration may become permanent • Check the bottom of pans for nicks, gouges or any rough areas to prevent scratches to cooktop

*Always follow the manufacturer’s use and safety instructions.

Grates, pans, caps and burner heads

Porcelain enamel drip pans

Enamel on steel or cast iron grates and caps

• Wash in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher • For heavy cleaning, place the grates and caps in a sealed bag or covered container with 1/4 cup of ammonia*. Leave to sit overnight to loosen soil • Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth • Soap filled scouring pads may also be used

• Wash grates and caps regularly in hot soapy water, rinse in clean water and dry before placing back on range • Grates and caps can be cleaned in dishwasher as long as they are enamel coated on the bottom • For burned-on soil, grates and caps can be soaked in a slightly diluted solution of liquid cleanser and scour with a non-metallic soap filled pad • Place the grates and caps in a sealed bag or covered container with 1/4 cup of ammonia*, leave to sit for three hours up to overnight to loosen soil • Rinse thoroughly and dry • To prevent rusting of cast iron grates, apply a light coating of cooking oil to the bottom of the grate • Do not clean in a self-cleaning oven

*Always follow the manufacturer’s use and safety instructions.

Non-removable porcelain pans • Wash in hot soapy water • Soap filled scouring pads or cleansing powders may be used on heavy soils

• Wipe burner heads routinely when cleaning the range top • For heavy cleaning, remove burner head from the range • Soak the burner head upside down in a solution of mild liquid detergent and hot water for 20-30 minutes • If food does not rinse off completely, scrub with soap and water or a soft brush or a plastic scouring pad • For stubborn stains, scrub with a cleanser like Soft Scrub* or Bon Ami* • Rinse well to remove any traces of the cleanser that might scratch the burners • Check the holes in the burner head to make sure they are not clogged • If clogged, clean with a paperclip • Before putting the burner head back using any of the above methods, shake out excess water, dry burner head thoroughly • Place the head back on the range and make sure the burner head is properly seated and level

• Use a mild dishwashing liquid or a mild glass cleaner and a clean damp cloth • Rinse the area after cleaning with a clean damp cloth and buff dry • Do not use abrasives of any kind on the control panel • Rubbing too hard or using any abrasive could scratch the surface or cause the lettering to rub off
