Teaching Strategies I enjoy inspiring my students to a high level of curiosity about the Spanish culture, history, arts, music and the language. Consequently, a passion and love for the Spanish language is instilled early in the school year. Students quickly learn that I expect excellence and will only accept their very best. Upon establishing this learning environment students quickly adapt to speaking only Spanish in class between their peers and their instructor.

Study of Country and use of Technology In this course students are required to produce numerous projects that involve frequent use of the internet as well as requiring them to research and review authentic written texts. For example, students are required to research an assigned Spanish American country. In the course of this research, students will review authentic written texts and are then required to: a. synthesize, b. analyze c. judge d. evaluate, and summarize information in writing. Student will also revise and correct each others written information. Students will then incorporate authentic

Students will incorporate a computer, video projector, and video presentation software for their lesson. The classroom students are also given a worksheet with a list of open-ended questions prepared by the presenting group for the class to answer at the end of the lesson. This project prepares students with the oral, written, auditory and comprehension portion of the AP exam.

Outside of Class, Authentic Sources, Current Events Using the internet, students utilize an authentic newspaper article from a particular Spanish American country of their choice. Students then create a written summary and share orally with the class. This assignment is presented every two weeks. Main Text and Reader: ¡Ven conmigo!
