DATE: 25 APRIL 2015 Overview: Starts with the Dawn Service and will finish as the sun is rising up over the ocean. The Dawn Service is held annually at the Big Pigeon Primary School, which is located in the Wallabi Group of the Abrolhos Islands and was started by the Principal of the school years ago - Mr Ian Slater.  The school and the children have continued the tradition until last year, when the school was closed.  The children of the island still lay the wreaths and are involved in the running of the service.  At the completion of the service, the crews off 3 pleasure boats donate and serve breakfast for all. We then travel to another island for the traditional Two-Up which commences at 2:00 pm sharp after The Last Post.

10:00 am – ANZAC Day Parade (assembly area corner York and Gray St West) ANZAC Day Memorial Service follows the Parade (ANZAC Peace Park, Princess Royal Dr) Parking: At any time, area adjacent to the Albany Entertainment Centre and side roads (except Serpentine Rd East and Gray St West) to and parallel with York St, and additionally for the Dawn Service, Middleton Beach car park, the Princess Royal Fortress car park and the car park at the entrance to Apex Drive. For both parades York St will be closed from 9.00am to approx. 10.30am and Princess Royal Drive from 9.00am to 12:00pm. Stirling Terrace from York St east to Spencer St will be closed from Friday to Sunday. Other Info: The Dawn Service will be simulcast to the Albany Entertainment Centre which will open at 4:15am; reserved parking on the western side of the AEC. The Service will also be simulcast to the large screen in the ANZAC Peace Park, Princess Royal Drive.

APPLECROSS

Other Info: This will be a special occasion as it is the last time we will be able to use this memorial. We have conducted the service here since the early 80’s, people always enjoy a less formal atmosphere and the morning tea provided by the Melville City.

BELLEVUE

G  reenmount Primary School in conjunction with Bellevue RSL Sub-Branch will conduct a School Students service at Blackboy Hill Memorial site prior to the end of the first term. The KSP Writers Centre will launch a book called ‘Blackboy Hill Calling’ which has had input from the students. 2. 24 April: A sunset service and wreath laying will be conducted at Blackboy Hill Memorial site by Bellevue RSL Sub-Branch with a Bugler and a Piper. The Bilgomen Scouts mount a vigil and camp overnight. 3. A NZAC Day: Dawn Service and wreath laying will be held at Blackboy Hill Memorial site with a Bugler and Piper. On completion of the service the scouts retreat from the vigil. The Wheat Belt School of Music band will play appropriate music for the

occasion and tea, coffee and scones will be provided by the local Rotary group. Road closures and traffic management will be provided due to large numbers of attendees expected. 4. O  n completion of the Dawn Service a Commemorative Service will be held at 8:30am by the MRA in conjunction with the Bellevue RSL Sub-Branch at the Midland Railway Workshops. 5. N  oon: A street parade and march will be conducted at midday from the Helen Street scout hall, led by a colour party and pipes & drums, to the Bellevue War Memorial. The Midland Police Traffic Section close the roads and control the traffic for the duration of the march. This is followed by a Service. On completion of the service everyone in attendance is invited to the club for lunch. After lunch the Pipes and Drums will entertain the guests in the clubrooms, and two-up will be played outside on the bowling green. ~ A N Z A C S E R V I C E S 2 015 ~ Parade – 10:30 am – Step off To coincide with the arrival of the parade there will be a number of parachutists representing the Australian and New Zealand service men who will drop in to the oval. Once they have landed, attention will turn to the service with a RAAF flyover Service follows same format as previous years Service concludes with a flyover by a Tiger Moth which will drop poppies over the Cenotaph Post Service Members and guests will then be invited back to the sub-branch to participate in ANZAC Day activities such as raffles, Two-Up, musical entertainment etc. Parking: local street parking and car parks (road closures effect some access) Other Info: There will be a Commemorative Program detailing members of the community who took part in WWI. Visual cues, ‘Voices from the Grave’, will incorporate children in civilian and military attire narrating as if they were Rockingham locals who took part in WWI. This replaces the guest speaker element of the main service. Media representations – images, sounds and narratives of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli. Flags and paraphernalia will be handed out along the parade route. TAMMIN

The public (especially children) will be encouraged to lay wreaths or floral tributes alongside the official RSL wreath. At the conclusion of the service the affiliate members will present a special gunfire breakfast for an estimated 100+ in attendance. Parking: in streets surrounding the Shenton Park Community Centre Other Info: It is hoped that we will have our last WWII veteran, Mr Graeme Fowler, attending. The address will be given by a son (Mr Ron York) and a granddaughter (Mrs Glenice Batchelor) of WWI servicemen. There will be an exhibition of WWI memorabilia and a display of handmade red poppies. The affiliate members are planning a polish up of the woodwork and metal plaques on the ornate WWI honour board situated in the town hall.

THREE SPRINGS – ARRINO
