To develop and maintain the active, ongoing interest and support of UMM and WCSA alumni, and maximize annual giving by UMM and WCSA alumni and friends

Functions The role of the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving office is layered. While advancing UMM's overall alumni programs and efforts, outreach from this office also fosters alumni annual giving. With assistance from staff, the interim director 

plans and executes alumni programs including Homecoming, reunions and special events



oversees the management of all alumni records, supervises budgets, sets annual operating goals



is responsible for all communications to alumni through print, telephone, e-mail, alumni web pages, and other media; determines most effective, efficient means of contact with all alumni constituencies. Reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of External Relations



provides administrative support to the UMMAA and WCSA Boards and



is responsible for promoting positive relationships between the university and its 17,000+ alumni



works cooperatively with other departments on campus to enlist involvement in Alumni programs and to support university activities



works with the development office and other departments on campus to promote ongoing opportunities for interaction by alumni and the University



oversees all collegiate annual giving efforts

She solicited input for improving alumni relations programming from alumni and friends of UMM and of the WCSA. She worked to increase the visibility of the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving office on the campus and in the community by participating in activities and attending numerous events such as athletic competitions, performing arts engagements, Morris community picnics and festivals, Morris Area Chamber of Commerce dinner and annual meeting, staffing the UMM booth at the Stevens County Fair, etc. She worked with the admissions department to better integrate engaged alumni in the recruitment of new students. She worked closely with the Office of Student Activities raising awareness of the Alumni Association with current students. The interim director and staff participated in the Grad Finalé welcoming graduating seniors as our newest alumni. A congratulatory packet consisting of a letter from the director, post-graduation survey, alumni association information, and an initial soft solicitation was mailed to all graduating seniors. The interim director was instrumental in assisting a special interest alumni group, the Women's Alumnae Collective, set up their organization to be in harmony with the overarching UMMAA vision and mission. Annual Giving The UMM FY05 Annual Giving program consisted of collaboration with the Foundation on two direct mail projects. Letters from Chancellor Sam Schuman were mailed to over 13,000 prospects each in the fall of 2004 and again in the spring of 2005 realizing a return of 341 gifts totaling $31,810. Other direct mail solicitations were handled in house by the UMM Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Office. The UMM phonathon responsibilities were divided between UMM student callers calling alumni from the office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving on campus and the U of M Foundation student callers calling UMM alums from the U of M Foundation phonathon center on the U of M campus. basis and the Foundation student callers contacted lapsed donors and non donors. Total revenue raised from both efforts amounted to $72,519. In fiscal 2005, the Annual Giving program, defined as gifts
