GENERAL:

i.

Directorate of Admissions, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam invites applications for admission into various courses offered in Campus Colleges of Arts & Commerce, Science, Engineering, Law and Pharmaceutical Sciences for the academic year 2013-2014.

ii.

Candidates are advised to go through the Admission Information Brochure - IV and select the appropriate course of study based on the eligibility criteria.

iii.

Courses offered, their eligibility criteria, details of fee structure and seats available are given in Annexure - I.

iv.

Candidates should claim admission under the appropriate categories of reservation by marking in the relevant boxes in the application form. Requests for inclusion or change of category(ies) once claimed will not be entertained under any circumstances. The applications will be processed as per the claims of the candidates only and the admissions will be subject to the validity of their claims.

v.

The reservation policy of the Government of A.P. that is in vogue in (respect of SC, ST, and BC categories) will be followed in the process of admissions.

vi.

A candidate seeking admission into a particular course has to fulfill the eligibility criteria specified for that course.

vii. The requirement for admission into Engineering and Pharmaceutical Courses and Management Studies is a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (45% in the case of SC/ST). viii. No call letters will be sent to the candidates. They are advised to look into the admission schedule. IX. Hostel accommodation will not be provided for candidates admitted into evening / Double Degree / Diploma Courses. x.

The university reserves the right to fill or not to fill and to enhance or reduce the number of seats earmarked for a particular course on administrative reasons. All admissions are purely provisional and the University reserves the right to cancel the admission at any stage. Further, it also reserves the right to run or not to run a particular course depending on the number of candidates joined in it. A minimum of 50% of Sanctioned strength of seats for a course should be filled in any course under self finance or payment streams to run the course.

xi.

All disputes whether regular or consumer courts pertaining to the admissions shall fall within the courts Jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam only. 2-Year Double Degree Programmes in M.Tech. / M.Sc.Software Engineering / Telecommunication Systems. (without Entrance Test)

(i) Double Degree Programmes (DDP) are designed for the advantage of Student Community through which students can get M.Tech. degree from Andhra University and M.Sc. degree from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden. These degrees are recognized in India through Andhra University and also globally, mainly in Eurpoe, through BTH, Sweden. This special arrangement increases the face value of the degrees and makes them free from local recognition hurdles which students usually face at the time of employment or Ph.D. Studies in India or Sweden after pursuing degrees from a foreign university. These Programmes protect the future of the students in a better way both in India and abroad. (ii) Admission into M.Tech. / M.Sc. Software Engineering / Telecommunication Systems under Double Degree programs will be processed based on the Marks in the qualifying degree. (ii) The Programme is structured in four semesters in such a way that students pursue their education both in India and Sweden. The program study will be one semester in Andhra

University, India and three semesters at BTH, Sweden. which includes one semester thesis work. (iii) Requirement for admission into these courses is a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination. (iv) Candidates should have their education in English as medium of instruction from secondary (10th class) level onwards. (v) There will be no provision for the students to discontinue the course in the middle of the programme and claim alternate degree. (vi) Copies of Passport (if available) and an Affidavit showing proof of financial resources of Rs. 6.0 lakhs for two semesters or Rs. 9.0 lakhs for three semesters to pursue studies at BTH, Sweden must be produced at the time of admission. 3.

M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Pharm. Evening Courses (for locally employed personnel) (i) The M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharm. Evening Courses are meant for eligible locally employed personnel. (ii) Requirement for admission is a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the qualifying examination. (iii) Admission into these courses shall be processed as per the merit order of the marks obtained in the qualifying degree. (iv) Separate application has to be submitted for courses in each department if the candidate is desirous of applying for courses in more than one department based on the eligibility criteria. PG Diploma / Diploma / Certificate courses : Admissions into various PG Diploma / Diploma / Certificate Courses will be processed as per the merit order in the qualifying examination in each category. Candidates are required to down load the appropriate application form (Form - I, II & III) and the Information Brochure - IV from the website. A demand draft drawn in favour of Director, Directorate of Admissions, A.U. from any Nationalised Bank payable at Visakhapatnam for the amount as per the details given below should be enclosed towards registration and Processing fee. (a) Rs. 1000/- for Double Degree M.Tech/M.Sc. Programmes (Sweden) - Form - I (i) M.Tech / M.Sc.Software Engg (separate application and DD) (ii) M.Tech / M.Sc. Telecommunication systems (separate application and DD) (b) Rs.1,000/- M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharm (Evening Course for locally employed personnel) separate application and DD for each Department - Form - I (c) Rs. 200/- for PG Diploma / Diploma and Certificate Courses (Separate application and DD for each course ) - Form - II (d) Rs. 400/- for M.A. Yoga & Consciousness (2 Years Course) - Form - II (e) Rs. 1000/- for M.B.A./M.A./M.Com./M.Sc. Regular courses with Special Fee Structure

Pass certificate / Degree Provisional or Original Certificate of the qualifying examination. Marks statements of the qualifying examination. Date of birth certificate (S.S.C. or equivalent certificate). Study certificates for the last 7 Years of study or residence certificate in case of private study. (e) Integrated Community certificate issued by competent authority in case of SC/ST/BC candidates. :2:

(f) No objection and Service Certificates from the employers. (g) Migration certificate for candidates from other universities. (h) AUCET-2013 Rank Card (in the case of candidates applying for M.A./M.Com/M.Sc. Regular Courses with special fee Sturcture). (i) Demand Draft towards registration and processing fee. 6. Foreign / Other State Category Seats : i. 15% supernumerary seats in each Science, Arts and Engineering course offered at A.U. campus are avialable to foreign / NRI students. Their applications shall be considered under separate fee structure. ii. In the absence of qualified candidates in the above said categories unfilled seats will be filled by local candidates based on the marks obtained in the qualifying degree with a different fee structure. 7.
