Frequently Asked Questions Q: Who all can create bookings on Air Deccan? A: Any IATA agent who has Deposit Account with Deccan or Credit Card∗ can book Air Deccan through Amadeus. Q: Can agencies sell Air Deccan flights departing within 24 hours? A: Agencies can book Deccan flights 4 hours before the flight’s Departure. Q: Does Air Deccan accept Multi-Destination bookings? A: DN is a point-to-point sale product; agents can sell only point-to-point one way or return flights. Q: Does Airline allow multiple class display? A: Yes. Q: Will the seat map be displayed on Amadeus for Air Deccan bookings? A: NO. Q: Does the FQD entry show the fare to be charged? A: Deccan files all its fares on Amadeus. The FQD entry will show the fare filed by Deccan for that booking class. Normally the fare returned after payment will always be the same. If no seats are available then the airline will return ‘NO’. Q: Will fare reflect on the PNR? A: Yes. Once the PNR is closed there is a response from the airline in SSR format confirming the guaranteed fare. The Fare in FQD & SSR generated by the Airline will always match. Q: Will the TAX Break-Up be visible? A: Yes. The SSR will contain both the fare and the taxes. The taxes are not broken down. For example: SSR OTHS 1A DNFARE INR 6524.00 TAX INR 2025.00 PNR TTL INR 8549.00 Q: Do we need to price a PNR on Amadeus for Deccan bookings? A: Only the fare returned in the SSR element in the PNR following an ER/ET and IR is the guaranteed fare.



Deccan accepts only Visa or Master Card.

Q: Is there any Time limit given by the Airline for the ticket issuance? A: No, payment must be made at the booking time. Q: What is the Time limit set by DN for ticket issuance? A: Payment must be made immediately Q: What acknowledgement is received when Air Deccan processes the PNR? A: Air Deccan generates the Confirmation Number in the PNR in the SSR message. Q: Is Infant booking allowed? A: Yes, if accompanied by adult. Check fare rules. Q: What are the Credit Cards accepted as Form of Payment? A: DN will accept Visa & Master Card. Q: How are Credit Card & Deposit Account entries processed? In both the cases of Credit Card & Deposit Account, the agent performs SSR entries before closing the PNR & airline further generates a confirmation in the SSR format. Q: Incase of multi- location agency where can agency see the number of tickets issued by its various secondary locations? A: The agent will have to check its TA reports by logging on the DN site using their User-id & Password. Q: Does the Deposit Account through Amadeus works on the existing Deposit Account of an agency? A: Yes, once the existing Deposit Account of an agency is mapped with the IATA number of the agency. Q: What is procedure to get the mapping done with the existing Deposit Account? A: An agent can contact their Account Manger for DN or can write to Regional Manger for their region. A: An agent can contact their Account Manger for DN or can write to Regional Manger for their region. Q: How does an agent come to know on the balance left in the Deposit Account? A: There will be a message in the PNR with the balance left in the Agent’s Deposit Account in following format : “SSR OTHS DNAVAIL CREDIT ONLY INR 8363.2” Q: Is it necessary to use passenger's credit card, or the agent's credit card will do? A: Passenger can pay to the agent in cash & in turn agent can pay by his/her corporate credit card or the agent can use the passengers credit card and collect the processing fee directly from the passenger. Q: What are the documents needed during check-in at the Airport? A: At the airport, you will need to show your e-ticket and a photo identification card to check-in. If you are a special needs passenger: • • •

For pregnant women - a "Fit to travel by Air" certificate attested by a certified Gynecologist. For passengers with ill health - a "Fit to travel by Air" certificate attested by a certified medical practitioner. For International credit card bookings - The original Credit card used for booking needs to be carried, which will be verified at Check in.

Q: How do we modify an Air Deccan booking? A: A booking can be viewed or retrieved by going to www.airdeccan.net and selecting the tab marked BOOKINGS, then selecting RETRIEVE BOOKING. You must enter the 7 digit record locator (returned in the SSR field) and follow the instructions. Modifications can also be made via the Air Deccan call center at (city code)+ 39008888. Please see Air Deccan website for more information on applicable charges. Q: Can passengers rebook or cancel their flights on Amadeus? A: NO, for any modification agents should contact DN Call centre on (city code)+ 39008888. Q: Incase the booked class is not available, how is Deccan going to handle such segments? Will they generate UC or an SSR message towards reject? What will be the time frame for such reverts? A: The booking will come back as UC and an SSR message will also appear against the reject. Its instant. Q: Infant/Child pax names, how do we enter the names? Should we use the normal airimp format? Or, by SSR messages? A: The name elements for a PNR containing Air Deccan segments are the same as any other PNR. Q: Incase of multiple passenger PNRs, how is SR EPAY required to be added, single entry or multiple with pax association? A: Multiple, with Pax association. Q: Where can the agents find the booking procedure, guidelines & any further information on booking Deccan on Amadeus?
