Dear Alumni, In the following pages, we hope to offer you a glimpse into the many different ways the DePaul University alumni community—your community—has made an impact and strengthened traditions at DePaul over the last fiscal year (July 1-June 30). From engaging with us on social media to “living the mission” through community service, from broadening your networks at alumni events to supporting current students by making gifts, there are hundreds of ways alumni continue to stay connected with DePaul. We hope that you enjoy this look back at the last year and that you’re as excited as we are for the future! Sincerely, Your Alumni Outreach and Engagement Team

Being Vincentian is being an attentive, compassionate, caring responder to the needs of others; humbly offering hope and practical, respectful service that not only meets an immediate need, but that will enhance their sense of human dignity and a feeling of being part of the community.
- Father William Piletic, C.M., Advancement Chaplain
Being Vincentian calls us to tune our eyes, ears and minds to the world, making connections that combine knowledge and service for a better tomorrow.

“My DePaul education challenged me to become a bigger thinker. I was encouraged to make mistakes and only reprimanded when I failed to learn from them. As a new grad, I’ve learned that DePaul alumni have a certain spirit to them; our school sends you into the world ready to make a mark.”

VINCENTIAN SERVICE DAY
From making cards for kids to helping out on an urban farm, alumni across the country came together to give back on Vincentian Service Day, May 7, 2016. At 12 sites in cities like Chicago, New York, Washinton, D.C. and Seattle, alumni lived out DePaul’s Vincentian mission by volunteering their time and celebrating in the spirit of service.
REYNA GRIFFIN B U S ’08 "I volunteer because I have seen the good that comes from our gathering together, both for the communities we serve in and for our DePaul community. Volunteering allows me to share my talents with others and allows for growth, both spiritually and personally."
