Aluminum Plate Recycling Program

What is this Program? Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group (GCG) is pleased to introduce the Aluminum Printing Plate Recycling Program in conjunction with United Scrap Metal Inc. (USM). This program is specifically designed to help Kodak customers recycle aluminum plates while receiving maximum value and preserving the environment. Kodak customers simply call or fax the attached form to participate in the program and receive the premium preferred pricing. USM will coordinate the pickup or shipment of aluminum printing plates and expedite direct payment to the customer. As an added incentive, you will be offered a Ronald McDonald House Charities receptacle to collect aluminum pop tabs at your facility when you join the program. A portion of the proceeds from this program plus 100% of the aluminum pop tab revenue will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities at no cost to your company. It's as easy as that.

Who is United Scrap Metal Inc.? United Scrap Metal Inc. was founded in 1978 and is currently headquartered in Cicero, Illinois. They are “The Award Winning Leader in Recycling Solutions” capable of managing your total aluminum recycling stream. From the individual tradesman to national account programs for Fortune 500 Companies, USM has worked to build long-term relationships with their customers. Since its inception, USM has made a commitment to building trust and serving as a supply chain partner. Go to www.unitedscrap.com for further information. The aluminum printing plate recycling coordinator can be reached at 1-800-8580777.

Aluminum Plate Recycling Program Why is this Program Affiliated to Ronald McDonald House Charities? Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a non-profit 501(c)(3), creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well being of children worldwide. One of the ways that RMHC raises money and awareness is through the collection and recycling of aluminum pop tabs. Our program is affiliated with RMHC because it also involves aluminum recycling and shares their basic operating values. As part of this program, we look forward to working with RMHC and Kodak customers to expand the aluminum pop tab collection program, which provides crucial assistance to families in need. For more information on RMHC, go to www.rmhc.org.

What are the Benefits of Participating? By participating in this Aluminum Printing Plate Recycling Program, you will be: • Benefiting the environment by reducing the amount of waste that goes into landfills. • Preserving precious natural resources by recycling aluminum. • Receiving premium preferred pricing for your scrap aluminum printing plates, which Kodak has negotiated through aggregated national volumes. • Assisting the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities. • Helping fulfill your Supplier Diversity requirements by working with United Scrap Metal, a Woman-Owned Business (WBE Certified). • Dealing with a professional company that has been the recipient of numerous business awards for customer service and recycling proficiency. • Utilizing a nationwide pre-qualified Recycling Partner Network.

What is the Value of my Aluminum Plates? Kodak has negotiated premium preferred pricing for Kodak customers wanting to recycle aluminum printing plates with USM by leveraging volume through a national program. Customers simply call USM at 1-800-858-0777 to get a competitive price quote within 24 hours. USM will quote the exact premium preferred price for aluminum scrap, which will be contingent upon volume, customer location, freight, and the London Metal Exchange (LME) Pricing Index at the time of the request. Pricing for this program in 2006 ranged from $1.10/lb to $.70/lb. but this is not a guarantee of future prices, which depend upon the variables referenced above. Once the customer agrees to the price, USM will be responsible for arranging the shipment of aluminum scrap from your location and remitting payment directly to you in a timely manner.

How do I Sign Up? Contact the USM Aluminum Recycling Hotline at 1-800-858-0777 or fax the attached form to 708-7800510 to participate in the program. Once you are qualified as a Kodak customer, it will trigger the process for you to receive the Kodak preferred, premium pricing when recycling aluminum printing plates.

Aluminum Plate Recycling Program What Can I Return? If you are a Kodak customer, you may return any Kodak aluminum printing plates that are generated at your facility. Any other materials you would like to recycle with United Scrap that are outside of this program should be negotiated directly with your USM sales representative.

How do I prepare the Aluminum for Return to USM? There are several options for returning aluminum plates that should be conducive to your operation: • Minimums: The program pickups will require a minimum of 2,000 lbs. though customer deliveries to USM have no minimum requirement. • Skidded: Stack the aluminum plates on pallets, secure them with either shrink wrapping or banding while having them adjacent to your dock. Larger quantities can be loaded onto permanent trailers loose or live loaded. • Baled: Ideally the bales are banded and stacked on pallets no more than three high. • Gaylord Boxes: Need to be placed squarely on pallets. Double stacking is also permissible.

How do I arrange for Shipment of the Aluminum Plates? • • •

Inform USM when the aluminum plates will be ready for pickup or delivery. USM will send shipping instructions and pricing details. USM will schedule, coordinate and confirm the designated carrier to pick up the aluminum.
